Objective
Euromech Colloqium 563 is intended to provide a forum for experts in generalized continua and design of meta-­‐materials and composite materials to exchange ideas and get informed about the latest trends of the research in the domain. In particular the scientific scope of the colloquium will be centered on the problem of effective design of composites and mechanical meta-­‐
materials. New trends about the theoretical models will be discussed and the debate on the issues raised by the design of composites and meta-­‐
