Compendium to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Libreria Editrice Vaticana, 2006. National Directory for Catechesis, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Washington, DC, 2005. United States Catholic Catechism for Adults, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Washington, DC, 2006. All student texts and series used must be found on the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Conformity list: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/document/Currentlist.pdf Assessment Various assessments can be designed to measure your students’ understanding of the material in the Confirmation component. Alternate assessments can also be created to meet the developmental needs of individual students. Students may take pen and paper tests in which they must list the Ten Commandments, the Precepts of the Church, the Beatitudes, the Virtues, or the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. They may also be questioned as to the meaning of the above or asked to give examples of ways in which we can live by these laws and virtues. Students may recite the answers to the ten Confirmation questions orally, or they may answer orally any of the questions as though they are answering a question from the Bishop by preceding each answer with the address, “Your Excellency…” For sample assessments, please e-mail the Office for Parish Life, Religious Education Office: [email protected]
