Un traguardo che stimola nuovi progetti, per guardare sempre avanti e abbracciare il futuro.
CERAMICA FONDOVALLE CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF BUSINESS.
An achievement that stimulates new projects, the desire to look forwards and embrace the future.
Sono passati cinquant’anni da quando Ceramica Fondovalle, azienda di Marano Sul Panaro, ha creato la sua prima linea di pavimenti e rivestimenti
in gres rosso, mezzo secolo di attività con la quale ha attraversato e influenzato stili, tendenze e abitudini di vita, lasciando un segno importante
nel panorama ceramico internazionale.
Dal 1962 a oggi Ceramica Fondovalle è cresciuta, offrendo ai mercati una ricerca sempre nuova ed accurata, affiancata ad investimenti strategici
e innovazione tecnologica, uniti a qualità, stile e ricerca estetica.
Nata nel 1957 da un gruppo di imprenditori modenesi, nel 1962 Ceramica Fondovalle inizia a produrre gres rosso per pavimenti e rivestimenti,
convertendo poi la produzione all’inizio degli anni Settanta in un prodotto smaltato a pasta bianca.
All’inizio degli anni Novanta un cambio ai vertici societari porta l’azienda verso una grande ristrutturazione tecnologica; E’ proprio questo cambio
della guardia che, unito a lungimiranza, attenzione ai mercati, sperimentazione ed esperienza nel settore, ha creato una formula perfetta che ha
accompagnato Ceramica Fondovalle in questi cinquant’anni di attività.
Ma è dal 1994 che inizia per Ceramica Fondovalle un cammino verso la maturità produttiva, che scaturisce prima dalla creazione del formato
34x34 per pavimenti realizzati in monocottura ingeliva (con finitura semilucida, matt e rustica) per seguire poi nel 1996 con l’ammodernamento
dell’intero stabilimento dando inizio alla produzione in gres porcellanato smaltato ed inaugurando una stagione molto feconda, segnata da una
solida armonia fra ricerca stilistica d’avanguardia ed evoluzione tecnologica, un connubio questo, grazie al quale l’azienda riesce ad ottenere risultati
molto importanti.
Nel 2003, Ceramica Fondovalle affianca alla produzione tradizionale la Doppia Pressatura con il marchio registrato Bi+Fusion, ottenendo un ampio
consenso da parte dei mercati nazionali e internazionali.
Nel giro di due anni l’azienda amplia la gamma dei prodotti realizzati con questa nuova tecnologia, certa della forza tecnica e estetica che
possiede rispetto ai mercati di riferimento. Sempre attenta a offrire il nuovo e ad anticipare le tendenze dei mercati, Ceramica Fondovalle, non
arresta la propria ricerca per offrire soluzioni sempre diverse: dal 2007 inserisce in gamma importanti elementi innovativi come polveri di metallo,
presenta grandi formati come il 60x90 e crea collezioni dall’aspetto quasi naturale. È una storia di grandi risultati e importanti conquiste quella che
accompagna Ceramica Fondovalle nel primo decennio del XXI secolo e che la vede protagonista di una serie di innovazioni che le assicurano un
posto di tutto rispetto nel mondo della ceramica internazionale. Al Cersaie 2009 presenta il nuovo sistema di decorazione digitale Ink Jet che le
consente di produrre superfici molto vicine alle pietre naturali e inaugura Light 4 Fusion, nuova tecnologia a marchio registrato con la quale è in
grado di creare grandi lastre in doppia pressatura con caricamenti multipli e impasti colorati, a basso spessore: solo 4,8 mm.
Rinnovamento tecnologico, innovazione e ricerca stilistica, nuove collezioni e una politica aziendale che punta all’ottimizzazione di risorse nel pieno
rispetto dell’ambiente: è questa la ricetta che ha permesso a Ceramica Fondovalle di inaugurare il secondo decennio del XXI secolo con ottimismo
e buoni risultati.
Nonostante la delicata congiuntura internazionale, l’azienda, ha saputo investire ancora su di sé, scommettendo sul proprio rinnovamento
tecnologico e sulle risorse umane, un patrimonio indispensabile per offrire sempre di più ai propri mercati.
È così che a luglio 2010 decide di sostituire completamente l’impianto di cottura installando un nuovo forno Sacmi e di cambiare tutte le macchine
di carico e scarico per migliorare non solo la produttività, ma anche e soprattutto l’impatto ambientale.
Ma il rinnovamento non si arresta qui e nel dicembre 2010, sostituisce l’impianto di scelta ed inaugura quello di imballaggio System 4Phases per
l’ottimizzazione dell’imballo ceramico.
Sei mesi ancora e nel luglio 2011, rinnova l’impianto di colorazione degli impasti, le linee di smaltatura ampliando la possibilità di smaltare fino a
lastre 120x120 e installa quattro linee di decorazione digitale e rotocolor. In Agosto 2011 posa una nuova pressa Sacmi, la PH 7500, i relativi
essiccatoi e l’impianto di carico/scarico, amplia e installa il nuovo impianto di stoccaggio a panconi sia del cotto che del crudo. È dunque ancora
una volta con il rinnovamento che Ceramica Fondovalle crede di potere affrontare le sfide del XXI secolo, un’innovazione che però procede
sempre più verso il rispetto per l’ambiente e l’ecosistema per contribuire al futuro del mondo. Un gesto che sempre più diventa per l’azienda
impegno e responsabilità sociale. Una filosofia produttiva che trova realizzazione concreta nel Progetto Microfinishing, avviato con il sostegno della
Commissione Europea attraverso LIFE, con il quale ottiene il prestigioso premio Best of the Best nel 2007. Sensibile dunque al bisogno di offrire
prodotti belli e rispettosi dell’ecosistema, Ceramica Fondovalle affianca alla propria filiera produttiva, un atteggiamento propositivo verso tali temi,
dimostrando quindi una sensibilità molto profonda che la porta ad ottobre 2011, a stringere partnership di ricerca e sviluppo con le Università di
Modena e Reggio e Trento (Facoltà di Ingegneria) e con Microenergy, finalizzate allo sviluppo del nuovo programma ambientale WASTE 3, facente
sempre parte di Life.
Fra sviluppo e rinnovamento tecnologico, salvaguardia dell’ambiente e rispetto per il futuro dell’uomo, ricerca e avanguardia estetica, internazionalità
e amore per il territorio, si sviluppa dunque la storia dei cinquant’anni di Ceramica Fondovalle, un bilancio di esperienze importante che l’azienda
riconosce non solo come un traguardo significativo in un momento di delicate incertezze economiche mondiali, ma anche come un forte stimolo
a guardare al futuro.
Nel 2012 a 50 anni dalla sua prima esperienza, Fondovalle festeggia questo importante anniversario all’insegna della passione e amore per la
ceramica.
Fifty years ago Ceramica Fondovalle, in Marano Sul Panaro, created its first line of red stoneware for floors and walls; half a century of business in
which the company has adopted and influenced styles, trends and lifestyles, leaving an important mark on the international ceramic tile scenario.
Since 1962 Ceramica Fondovalle has developed offering the markets innovative and accurate research and design supported by strategic
investments and technological innovation; during these years the company has been characterised by quality, style and design.
The company was established in 1957 by a group of entrepreneurs from Modena and in 1962 Ceramica Fondovalle started to produce red
stoneware for floors and walls; at the beginning of the Seventies it converted its production to white paste glazed products.
At the start of the Nineties a change in the top management and transfer of company shares led to a significant technological reorganisation; this
change together with farsightedness, experimentation and experience in this sector created the perfect formula, which is the secret of Ceramica
Fondovalle’s fifty years of successful business.
In 1994 Ceramica Fondovalle started moving towards production maturity with the manufacture of the 34x34 format frost-proof single fired floor
tiles with semi-glossy, matt and rustic finish; this was followed in 1996 by the modernisation of the entire plant and the production of glazed
porcelain stoneware; this was the start of a very profitable season characterised by a harmonious combination of avant-garde design research and
technological evolution; thanks to this combination the company has achieved excellent results.
In 2003, Ceramica Fondovalle integrated Twin Press technology in its production line with the Bi+Fusion registered trademark, obtaining great
success in national and international markets.
Strong of its technical and design advantage in relation to the markets of reference, in the following two years the company extended the range
of products produced with this new technology. Pursuing the objective to offer new products and anticipate market trends, Ceramica Fondovalle
continued its research activities in order to offer different innovative solutions: in 2007 it added important innovative elements to the range, such as
metal powders, presented large formats, such as the 60x90 one, and developed collections with an almost natural appearance. In the first decade
of the 21st century Ceramica Fondovalle’s history was filled with significant results and important achievements, including a series of innovations
thanks to which it enjoys a prominent position in the international ceramic tile world.
At Cersaie 2009 Ceramica Fondovalle presented the new digital Ink Jet decoration system for the production of surfaces very similar to natural
stones; it also inaugurated Light 4 Fusion, a new registered trademark technology that makes it possible to manufacture large, double pressed
slabs with multiple loading and coloured pastes, with a low thickness: just 4.8 mm.
New technologies, innovation and design research, new collections, and a corporate policy to optimise resources while respecting the environment:
these are the ingredients behind Ceramica Fondovalle’s positive start to the second decade of the 21st century, characterised by optimism and
good results.
Despite the delicate international economic situation the company has invested in itself and believed in technological innovation and human
resources, a necessary patrimony in order to be able to offer new solutions to its markets.
In line with this strategy in 2010 Ceramica Fondovalle completely replaced the firing plant, installing a new Sacmi kiln, and changed all the loading
and unloading machines to improve productivity but also, and above all, the environmental impact.
The renovation continued in December 2010 with the installation of the new sorting plant and the new System 4Phases packaging system for
optimisation of ceramic packaging.
Six months later in July 2001, Ceramica Fondovalle refurbished the paste colouring plant and the glazing lines, to allow for glazing sizes up
to 120x120; it also installed four digital and rotocolor decoration lines. In August 2011 a new Sacmi PH 7500 press with dryers and
loading/unloading system was installed; the new storage system with plank shelving for both fired and unfired materials was extended and
installed. It is once again with the spirit of renewal that Ceramica Fondovalle believes it will be able to take on the challenges of the
21st century: innovation that increasingly embraces issues related to the respect of the environment and ecosystem in order to positively contribute
to the world’s future. A corporate philosophy which translates into commitment and social responsibility. A production philosophy that has turned
into reality with the Microfinishing Project, started with the support of the European Commission through the LIFE programme. In 2007, Ceramica
Fondovalle obtained the Best of the Best award for its project. Ceramica Fondovalle, sensitive to environmental issues and to the need of
offering eco-friendly design products, not only renovated its production lines but also adopted a positive and deeply concerned attitude towards
these issues; this led in October 2011 to an R&D partnership with the University of Modena and Reggio and the University of Trento (Faculty of
Engineering) and with Microenergy, for the development of the new WASTE 3 environmental project, once again part of the Life programme.
Ceramica Fondovalle’s fifty years of history unwind among technological development and renovation, safeguarding of the environment and respect
for the future of mankind, design research and innovation, internationality and love for its territory. An important balance of experiences that the
company considers not only as a significant achievement in a moment of global economic uncertainties, but also as a strong incentive to look to
the future.
In 2012, 50 years after its first experience, the theme of Fondovalle’s anniversary celebrations is its love and passion for the ceramic tile sector.

Da sempre orientata all’innovazione Ceramica Fondovalle cresce di giorno in giorno attraverso il continuo aggiornamento delle tecnologie e il
collaudo di nuovi sistemi produttivi. Accanto alla produzione tradizionale in gres porcellanato, l’azienda nel tempo, ha lanciato Bi+Fusion tecnologia,
emblema del continuo fermento sperimentale che Ceramica Fondovalle ha fin dalle origini nel proprio dna.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Innovation has always been at the forefront and thanks to this Ceramica Fondovalle grows day after day through the continuous update of
technologies and the trial of new production systems. Over the years, alongside the traditional porcelain stoneware production, Fondovalle has
launched the Bi+Fusion technology, symbol of the continuous experimental ferment that Ceramic Fondovalle has always had in its DNA.

TECHNOLOGY
The new technology, born from the Bi+Fusion research, makes it possible to produce large double pressed slabs with multiple loading and
coloured pastes mixed with each other without the use of reinforcing fibres; with this technology, the strength of a large format and the technical
features of traditional porcelain stoneware are condensed in reduced thickness slabs. This is an innovative step forward which has allowed
Ceramica Fondovalle to launch a collection that can be used on floors and walls in public and private residential spaces: Light 4 fusion born from
the Bi+Fusion technology is a very versatile material with great potential that combines great lightness with great technical performances in just 4.8
mm of thickness.

Inkjet: the new digital decoration system tested by Ceramica Fondovalle: Stone print, which belongs to the Bi+Fusion technology, makes it possible
to obtain top definition decorative images, graphics on both textured and non-textured surfaces and a faithful reproduction of any natural effect. This
technology offers great aesthetic quality and allows the reproduction of all natural effects and makes ceramic products very similar to the natural
ones. The Bi+Fusion project is Fondovalle’s contribution to the development of new covering materials for architectural use. The company offers

Les produits Bi+Fusion sont conçus pour des milieux multiples : aussi bien pour le design d’intérieurs que pour l’ameublement urbain, l’extérieur, les revêtements, au sens large,
aussi bien pour un usage publique que privé. Le projet Bi+Fusion est la contribution de Fondovalle au développement de nouvelles surfaces pour l’architecture : de nouveaux
matériaux à disposition des projets les plus futuristes, mais aussi des propositions chaleureuses et fortes pour le bâtiment privé. Des dalles de matière high-tech réalisées avec
soin et passion par des maîtres céramiques à la recherche de la beauté et de la fonctionnalité pour ne pas détruire mais pour récupérer le passé dans une interprétation nouvelle
