Classical Music in Video is the definitive online collection for the study of classical music in video format. At completion will contain 1,000 hours of
classical music performances and masterclasses captured on video—approximately 1,500 performances in all. The collection includes performances of all forms of music, including major orchestral performances by leading orchestras, plus chamber music, oratorio, and solo performances, along
with masterclasses and interviews with master teachers from around the world.
Scope
Classical Music in Video can be cross-searched with Opera in Video and Dance in Video, creating a music video resource that is unparalleled in
its breadth and depth, providing access to performances by artists and ensembles such as the BBC Philharmonic, Royal Opera, Sir Geraint Evans,
Thomas Quasthoff, Maxim Vengerov, Emanuel Ax, Simon Carrington, Bernard Haitink, Evelyn Glennie, Ives Ensemble, Vienna Radio Symphony
Orchestra, Callithumpian Consort, and more. The videos are also cross-searchable with Music Online, letting you search the content in Classical
Music in Video together with scores, reference, and audio recordings. For relevant videos, including masterclasses, documentaries, and vocal works,
scrolling transcripts will appear alongside the videos.
Coverage of musical time periods spans Medieval to the 21st century, and performances cover historical recordings from the 1950s up to the most
