CINEMA PROGRAM
The 13th edition of the Young Creation Video Cinema program will take place from January 24th to
29th in Biarritz, as part of the FIPA – International Festival of Audiovisual Programs.
Through transdisciplinarity artistic mobility programs, the Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes
supported about 1500 artists on their professionalization path on the European artistic scene. Their
ambition is to enhance and support the emergence of a community of young artists and creation
professionals within Europe.
After years of faith-filled collaboration with the FIPA – that will celebrate its 30th birthday this year, the
Pépinières continue to dig into the creations of a talented Young generation, now opening up to new
forms of expression that renew the art of filmmaking in documentaries, fictions, animation movies,
experimental movies, art videos, dance videos.
However their academic background, every one of the young artists that are showcased in the Young
Creation Video Cinema program has a very special and unexpected vision of the world and a creativity
that waves each and everyone of us. The selection will be screened as part of the New Talent
selection of the FIPA.
THE PRIZES – MITRANI & ERASMUS + AGENCY
The prizes will be attributed to one of the New Talent selection movies (FIPA selection and Pépinières’
selection) during the festival closing ceremony on January 29th 2017.
This prize honoring the memory of its founder will award an artwork that distinguishes itself by its spirit
of resistance, the singularity of its style or its innovative approach. The film should also be a first or
second realization. The Mitrani prize will consist in the endowment of 5000 euros from France
Télévisons.
The Erasmus + Agency’s special prize will reward a movie that reflects the Erasmus generation and
highlights european values. More details about the prize will be announced soon.
All films can participate to the competition for the Mitrani prize, but only european film will be
awarded by the Erasmus + Agency.

APPLICATIONS – DEADLINE FRIDAY OCTOBER 21 , 2017
Applications should be submitted to the following address: [email protected].
Applicants will send their video in URL form. They testify they will make the phone numbers, postal
addresses and email addresses of the artistic and technical crew available to the Pépinières.
Candidates will have to fill out the application form available Under this link, along with
specific documents mentioned in it. The inscription to the program will be validated only once
all those requirements are fulfilled.
Participants also testify they will transfer their films Under following formats within 10 days after
announcement of the laureates :
- Apple ProRes 422 (ideally 422 standard, for stocking reasons but possibly also 422 HQ)
- .mov in H264
- .mepg4 H264
The audio mix should fulfill the following expectations:
- one stereo track and not on 2 mono LT and RT tracks separated (48.0 KHz, 24 bits, PCM)
The .mov file should contain the following:
- this only single track and not 2 mono tracks separated nore 5.1 tracks
- only a single stereo track and no other additional audio track.
Applicants give their authorization for the diffusion of images and extracts of their movies on
the Pépinières’ communication material (programs, catalogues, website, press review etc.) and
of the full movie during the Pépinières’ events.
GENERAL PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS

- selection is open to any movie which production took place after January 1 2014 (copyright 2014,
2015 et 2016 uniquement)
- Films can be experimental, studies, a first or second professional realization.
- Films should be sent under following: Apple ProRes 422, .mov in H264, .mepg4 H264
- Films in English should bear French subtitles as incrusted into the image
- Films in other languages than French and English will bear English subtitles that as incrusted into the
image.
