Nel Marzo 1947, dopo l’esperienza pluriennale nel settore della pelletteria,
il Cav. Orlando Leone fonda la LEONE SPORT, fabbrica milanese di
articoli sportivi.
La passione per il gioco del calcio e ancor più per il pugilato indirizza
il fondatore verso la produzione di articoli inerenti queste discipline
sportive.
Vengono così prodotti articoli per il calcio, soprattutto palloni e scarpe,
commercializzati con il marchio “PAROLA”. Inter, Milan e Juventus
furono tra le più importanti squadre che utilizzarono il famoso “pallone
18 sezioni” di colore cuoio e giocatori del calibro di Antognoni, Angelillo
e Scirea furono i primi a calzare le scarpe LEONE.
Anche nel pugilato l’azienda diventa ben presto leader di mercato.
Non vi è pugile italiano dell’epoca che non abbia indossato guanti LEONE.
Da allora il marchio LEONE è sempre salito sui ring di tutta Italia, portando
la propria esperienza produttiva anche al servizio delle nuove discipline
emergenti arrivate da oltreoceano, quali Kick Boxing, Thai Boxe e Savate.
In questi ultimi anni la ditta LEONE SPORT ha aperto nuovi mercati anche
in Svizzera, Francia, Portogallo, Spagna, Brasile, Olanda, Germania,
Slovenia, Croazia e Montenegro consolidando la propria leadership come
marchio italiano nel settore degli sport da combattimento. L’azienda
è arrivata ora all’operatività della terza generazione della famiglia LEONE
che intende proseguire il cammino, a suo tempo intrapreso, migliorando
continuamente le proprie attività.

In March 1947, after years of experience in the leather industry, Cav.
Orlando Leone established LEONE SPORT, Milan’s sportswear factory.
The passion for football and especially for boxing led the founder to
produce equipment for these sports.
That’s how football items, mostly balls and shoes, started to be
commercialized under the brand “PAROLA”. Among the most important
teams, Inter A.C. Milan and Juventus were using the famous 18 leathercoloured panels football and players such as Antognoni, Angelillo and
Scirea were the first to wear LEONE shoes.
Even in boxing LEONE soon became a market leader.
There was no fighter at that time who didn’t wear LEONE gloves.
Ever since, the LEONE brand stepped into boxing rings all over Italy,
again and again, also offering its production experience to new overseas
emerging sports, such as Kick Boxing, Thai boxing and Savate. In the
last few years, LEONE SPORT company has also opened new markets in
Switzerland, France, Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Holland, Germany, Slovenia,
Croatia and Montenegro strengthening its own leadership as an Italian
brand in the combat sports’ industry. The company has now reached the
management of the third generation of LEONE’s family, which intends to
follow the path once taken, keeping on improving its own business.
