La guerra è un fenomeno
vecchio quanto l’uomo, ma
discontinuo, intervallato
da periodi più o meno lunghi
di pace. La maggioranza
dei generali della Prima Guerra
Mondiale non avevano fatto
nessuna esperienza sul campo.
Allora, come apprendere la

longer periods of peace. The majority of the generals employed in World War I had no
experience on the field. How could they learn about war before they went to it?
