Associazione Concorso Corale Internazionale
Riva del Garda
è stata costituita il 17 dicembre 1991 per volontà
di un gruppo di appassionati del canto corale
che, su invito dell'allora Sindaco Enzo Bassetti,
hanno dato vita ad una associazione di volontariato senza scopo di lucro, ma con finalità diversificate, sempre nell'ambito corale, quali ad
esempio l'organizzazione di concorsi e festival,
manifestazioni di carattere concertistico, corsi di
perfezionamento musicale, seminari, laboratori,
pubblicazioni e mostre. Dalla sua fondazione
ad oggi si è assunta la responsabilità dell'organizzazione di quattordici edizioni del Concorso
Corale Internazionale e di undici edizioni del
concorso "In... Canto sul Garda" (entrambi a
cadenza biennale). L'Associazione svolge la sua
attività con il contributo del Comune di Riva del
Garda, della Provincia Autonoma di Trento e della Federazione Cori del Trentino, nonchè attraverso l'opera volontaristica di un folto gruppo di
appassionati del canto corale.

It was founded on 17. December 1991 by a
group of choral lovers who were asked by the
Mayor of the time, Enzo Bassetti, to give life to a
non-profit organisation of volunteers with various
aims, always within the choral field, for example
organising competitions, festivals, musical concerts, masterclasses, seminars, workshops, publications and exhibitions. From its foundation up
until today it has organised fourteen editions of
Concorso Corale Internazionale and eleven editions of the competition "In... Canto sul Garda"
(every two years). The Association carries out its
work with contributions from the Council of Riva
del Garda, from the Provincia Autonoma of Trento and from the Trentino Choir Federation, as well
as through the voluntary work of a large group of
choral lovers.

Rivolgo un caloroso benvenuto ai tantissimi coristi e a tutti gli organizzatori dell'edizione 2016
del «Concorso Corale Internazionale», un appuntamento di grande prestigio e di rara vivacità che
ogni anno «colora» la nostra città. Proprio i tanti
colori sono tra gli elementi che caratterizzano
questa manifestazione, i colori delle tantissime
bandiere in corteo, il giorno dell'inaugurazione,
con i loro significati e le loro suggestioni, legati
come sono a tante storie millenarie: quelle delle
diverse Nazioni e delle tante culture che qui si
ritrovano, al richiamo potente dell'incontro e del
canto.
Il canto che ogni anno invade ogni angolo della
città: non solo durante le esibizioni ma anche nei
diversi momenti della giornata, proveniente dalle
finestre degli alberghi, dai tavolini dei bar, dalle
strade e dalle piazze, in cui i coristi – lo sappiamo per esperienza – cedono alla tentazione di
abbandonarsi a quello che amano fare: cantare.
Quando, durante i giorni del «Concorso Corale
Internazionale», passeggio per la città e incontro i giovani coristi, o sento qualcuno cantare,
capisco il valore del canto, e del canto corale
in particolare, quale linguaggio di fratellanza,
di incontro e di vicinanza, e mi confermo nella
convinzione che un simile evento sia per Riva del
Garda un patrimonio di grandissimo valore.
È con questi sentimenti che auguro a tutti voi un
sereno soggiorno sul lago, la piena gratificazione per tutto il vostro impegno e il migliore esito
per questa bellissima manifestazione.

I extend a warm welcome to the many singers
and all the organizers of the 2016 edition of
Concorso Corale Internazionale, appointment
of great prestige and rare vivacity. The many
colours is one of the elements that characterize
this event, the colours of the many flags in the
Parade, on the opening day, their meanings and
suggestions, connected as they are to the many
stories that are thousands of years old. Those
of different nations and many cultures that meet
here, to the powerful call of the meeting in singing, that annually invades every corner of the
city. Not only during the performances, but also
at different times of the day. It comes through the
windows of the hotels, to the tables outside the
bars, the streets and squares, in which the choir
members, we know it from our experience, like
to give in to the temptation and indulge in what
they love most doing: sing. When , during the
days of Concorso Corale Internazionale, I walk
around the city and I meet the young singers, or
when I hear someone singing, I understand the
value of singing, in particular of the choral singing, as a language of brotherhood, of meeting
and vicinity. This confirms my firm belief that such
an event is for Riva del Garda a heritage of
great value.
It is with these feelings that I wish you all a pleasant stay , the full reward for all your hard work
and the best outcome possible, from this wonderful event.

Benvenuti a Riva del Garda,
rinnoviamo anche quest’anno il nostro appuntamento con gli appassionati del canto corale.
È sempre un piacere per noi accogliere una presenza cosí numerosa di coristi provenienti da
dodici stati diversi. Un richiamo forte, come la
musica sa dare, che fa del nostro incontro un'occasione unica per ampliare i propri orizzonti
culturali, incontrare nuove e diverse persone,
cantare e ascoltare repertori di grande interesse.
È quello che ci ha insegnato l’organizzazione
di molti concorsi per cori che abbiamo potuto
realizzare qui a Riva e l’incontro con diverse migliaia di coristi che si sono alternati, provenienti
da tutto il mondo, sul nostro palco.
Per questo vi auguriamo che possiate trascorrere
proficuamente le vostre giornate a Riva, raccogliere i frutti del vostro impegno musicale ma,
soprattutto, vivere questa vostra presenza al Concorso come momento di crescita, di conoscenza
e di amicizia fra voi e con tutte le nuove persone

Welcome to Riva del Garda.
We renew, also this year, our appointment with
the choral singing lovers. It is always a pleasure
for us to welcome so many singers coming from
12 different countries. A strong appeal, what
music offers, that makes this encounter a unique
opportunity to broaden one’s cultural horizons,
meet new and different people, sing and listen
to repertoires of great interest. That is what we
have learnt from the organization of so many
choral competitions here in Riva del Garda and
from the meeting with the many thousands choir
singers from all over the world. I hope you will
profitably spend your days in Riva del Garda,
reap the rewards of your musical efforts. I especially wish you to live your experience at the
“Concorso” as an opportunity for growth, knowledge and friendship between you and all the new
people you will meet.

Cari tutti voi!
Dear All of You,
Voi che venite a Riva del Garda per la prima volta, lasciatevi ispirare! Voi che state tornando:
è bello rivedervi! Quando penso al «Concorso
Corale Internazionale di Riva del Garda»,
la mia memoria retrocede fino al 1990, quando
questo evento straordinario nacque. Torna alle
prime belle impressioni di Riva del Garda e del
suo lago e a quell’immediato senso di «sentirsi a
casa». Molte cose sono cambiate nel corso degli
anni, per fortuna però, alcune restano uguali: la
cordialità e la gentilezza dei nostri partner, la
cura nell’organizzazione, l’entusiasmo esplosivo
e contagioso delle Cerimonie di premiazione, la
risposta gioiosa dei cori, quel senso di unità e
di amicizia che nasce e si sviluppa quando le
persone si incontrano nella musica e nel canto.
Una volta che si fa esperienza con tali impressioni, non è possibile dimenticarle. Quando tutto
questo avviene ripetutamente, di volta in volta …
si rimane con un amore incrollabile e una forte
motivazione. Questo è quello che è successo a
me ed è quello che continua a succedere durante
tutta la mia carriera. Lasciatevi ispirare e coinvolgere dai diversi concerti organizzati, dallo spirito
travolgente delle Cerimonie di premiazione, che
vi lascerà un amore incrollabile, un sorriso sul
volto, a volte anche le lacrime agli occhi, ore
insonni e una forte motivazione per quello che
sarà in futuro.
Colgo l’occasione per esprimere i miei più sentiti
ringraziamenti a tutti coloro che hanno lavorato
cosí duramente per rendere possibile la vostra
partecipazione. Conscia del fatto che purtroppo
la pace non regna ovunque, mi fa comunque
piacere pensare di poter regalare a tutti voi
questo bellissimo «Incontro in Musica».
Since more than twenty years I’ve come back and
I can only repeat my wish from the past to those
of you coming to Riva for the first time: let yourself
be inspired! Welcome back to some of you who
has already stayed here with us!
Concorso Corale Internazionale was born
in 1990´s, is an equivalent to beautiful times and
the wonderful moment of “feeling at home” at the
precious Lake Garda!
All of us have been influenced by the changes of
the time and several circumstances. What never
changed in all of the past years is the joyful response of the choirs, that familiar sense of unity
and friendship that arises and spreads when people meet in music and songs and what remains in
their hearts the days and years after.
Through the tireless support and kindness of our
partners and the team of both sides, the care in
the organization of the event, this year´s event
again is what it always was: A come together
in music! A familiar and joyful MEETING with
people from all over the world, sharing the same
love and enthusiasm for songs and singing!
Let yourself be inspired at different concerts, by
the overwhelming spirit of the Prize Giving Ceremonies which will leave you with an unshakable
love, a smile on your face, sometimes tears of joy
in your eyes, sleepless hours and strong motivation for what will be in the future.
Let me take these moments here to express my
deepest thanks to all of you who worked so hard
to make your participation possible. I know that
many places in the world are not that peaceful
and silent and I am grateful to give back to you
a little bit of these goods we are all searching for
through meeting in music

Giovanni Acciai è nato nel 1946. Laureato in organo,
composizione e direzione di coro, ha preso il suo Master
in Musicologia presso l’Università di Pavia, insegna pratica
performativa semiografia musica antica presso il Conservatorio «Giuseppe Verdi» di Milano. è stato direttore del coro
da camera della Radio Italiana (RAI) dal 1989 al 1994 e
del Coro Sinfonico di Radio Italiana a Torino (1991-1992).
Attualmente è direttore d’orchestra e direttore artistico degli ensemble vocali e strumentali «Solisti del Madrigale», e
il Collegium Vocale et instrumentale «Nova Ars cantandi»,
composto da musicisti professionisti, con i quali ha fatto tournée e registrazioni. Per i suoi alti meriti artistici internazionali
nel 1991 è stato nominato membro onorario dell’Associazione Americana di Direttori di Coro (ACDA). La Fondazione
«Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina» di Roma lo ha nominato
come suo «socio onorario». Giovanni Acciai ha pubblicato
numerose edizioni di critica, articoli e revisioni di musiche
antiche, saggi musicologici, così come registrazioni di opere
inedite per gli editori Antes, Stradivarius, Sarx, Unda maris,
Tatcus e Decca. Con Tactus ha recentemente pubblicato con
il suo ensemble «Nova Ars cantandi» Armonici entusiasmi
di Davide di Giovanni Battista Bassani, uno dei più importanti compositori strumentali del Seicento in Italia, ammirati
da Buxtehude e Bach. Viene regolarmente invitato ad essere membro della giuria internazionale e presidente della
giuria nei più rinomati concorsi corali per la composizione
corale ed è ricercato come docente presso Conferenze dei
musicologia e di master classes tenute per direzione corale
presso associazioni corali o Università in Italia e all’estero.
è stato regolarmente un membro delle giurie internazionali
in tutto il mondo e rappresentante per l’Italia nel Consiglio
internazionale Coro Mondiale. Giovanni Acciai è il direttore
artistico del Concorsi Corale Internazionale e Festival di Riva
del Garda fin dall’inizio e di altri eventi in Italia come Quartiano, Grado e Torre del Lago. A partire dal 2013, è anche
direttore artistico dell’Accademia di Musica Antica di Milano
(A.M.A.MI) il cui scopo è la promozione del patrimonio di
musica barocca italiana, conservato e sepolto negli archivi
per molti secoli, e portarlo all’attenzione di un più ampio
pubblico attraverso concerti, conferenze, iniziative culturali.
Born in 1946, he teaches History of music and early Music
semiography at the Conservatory “Giuseppe Verdi” in Milan.
He studied organ, composition and choir conducting and got
a specialisation in music paleography and philology at University of Pavia. He is director of the didactic magazine of
choir music “L’offerta musicale” and has published several
articles and reviews on early music, musical essays and critics as well as recording for the publishers Antes, Stradivari,
Sarx, Tactus and Archiv-Deutsche Grammophon. He was conductor of the “Corale univesitaria di Torino”, of the choir of the
Theatre of Bologna, of the “Polyphoniae studium” and of the
“Chamber choir of the RAI in Rome”; he is conductor and artistic director of the “Solisti del madrigale” and the Collegium
vocale et instrumentale “Nova ars cantandi” as well as the
choir competitions of Quartinao (Lodi), Torre del Lago, Grado
and Riva del Garda. The three-year master classes “Roberto
Goitre” for choir conducting and for the interpretation of
early vocal music were created on his initiative. He collaborates with the RAI, the “Fondazione Gioacchiano Rossini” of
Pesaro, the “Fondazione Guido d’Arezzo” of Arezzo and
with “Istituto Cherubini” in Rome. He is regularly invited as
a member of the jury panels at important national and international choir contests (Arezzo, Gorizia, Tours, Budapest,
Vittorio Veneto, Trento, Milano, Zwickau a.o.) as well as a lecturer at conferences on musicology. He was a member of the
International juries at the Choir Olympics in Linz (Austria,
2000), Busan (Korea, 2002), Bremen (Germany, 2004), as
well as of the World Choir Games in Xiamen (China, 2006)
and Graz (Austria 2008).

Nato nel 1954 a Budapest, si è diplomato presso
l'Accademia di musica «Franz Liszt» di Budapest;
ha frequentato corsi di perfezionamento con Eric
Ericson, Kurt Masur e László Somogyi.
È direttore principale della «Dohnányi Orchestra
Budafok», una delle principali orchestre sinfoniche dell'Ungheria. Con il suo coro «Budapest
Academic Choral Society» ha vinto primi premi
in tutti i concorsi corali europei riconosciuti.
Tra il 2001 e il 2006 ha diretto l'unico coro maschile professionale ungherese a livello mondiale, «Honvéd Male Choir». Nel 2002 è nominato
direttore ospite della «Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra» e consulente dei «Philarmonia Singers»
di Tel Aviv. Viene regolarmente invitato in Israele,
Taiwan, Brasile e Stati Uniti; a lavorare con orchestre quali la Israel Philarmonic Orchestra, la
Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, la Shanghai
Symphony Orchestra, la Taipei Orchestra e la
Pops Cincinnati. È impegnato nella formazione
dei giovani direttori di orchestra e tiene regolarmente corsi di perfezionamento sia in Ungheria
che all'estero. Il suo workshop sulla direzione
d'orchestra è stato il momento clou dell'annuale
«Taipei Choral Festival». Il suo progetto «Choral
Celebration» riunisce cori provenienti da tutto il
mondo con lo scopo di cantare insieme in concerto. Dal 2004 è direttore artistico del Festival
Zemplén, uno dei piú prestigiosi festival d'arte
in Ungheria. Gábor Hollerung è stato insignito
dell'Ordine dei Cavalieri della Croce della Repubblica ungherese (2002), del Premio Liszt
(2004), del Premio Gerusalemme (2006), del
Premio Artisjus per la presentazione di musica
contemporanea di alta qualità (2008).
Nel 2015 gli è stato conferito il titolo di «A Merit
Artist» nel suo Paese natale, l'Ungheria.

Born in 1954 in Budapest, graduated at the Liszt

He is Principal Conductor of the Dohnányi Orchestra Budafok, one of Hungary’s top symphony
orchestras. With his choir, the Budapest Academic Choral Society, he won first prizes at all
recognized European choir competitions.
Between 2001- 2006 he led Hungary’s worldwide unique professional male choir, the Honvéd
Male Choir. In 2002 he became Chief Guest
Conductor of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra
and Musical Advisor of the Philharmonia Singers
Tel Aviv. He is regularly invited to Israel, Taiwan,
Brazil and the United States, working with orchestras like the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the
Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, the Shanghai
Symphony Orchestra, the Taipei Symphony Orchestra and the Cincinnati Pops.
He is engaged in training young conductors and
he has regularly given master classes on conducting both in Hungary and abroad.
His conducting workshop became the highlight of
the annual Taipei Choral Festival.
His Choral Celebration project unites choirs from
all over the world to sing together in concert.
Since 2004 he is Artistic Director of Zemplén Festival, one of the most prestigious art festivals in
Hungary.
Gábor Hollerung was awarded with the Knights’
Cross Order of the Hungarian Republic (2002),
the Liszt Prize (2004), the Jerusalem Prize (2006),
the Artisjus Prize for presenting contemporary
music on high quality (2008).
In 2015 he was awarded the title of A Merit Artist
by his home Country Hungary.

Lynda Hasseler, D.M.A. è Maestro e direttore
di attività corali in Ohio a Columbus, presso il
Conservatorio di Musica Capital University, dove
dirige il coro a Cappella, Choral Union, e l’ensemble di musica vocale da camera Philomel.
Al Trinity Lutheran Seminary insegna ai diplomati
direzione corale e metodi corali.
Si è laureata presso il Calvin College a Grand
Rapids, Michigan, ha conseguito un Master in
musica e un dottorato in arti musicali, presso
l’università statale de Michigan.
E’ spesso invitata come direttore ospite e critico
a livello regionale, nazionale e internazionale.
Cantante in piena attività, la Dr. Hassler si è esibita in tournée effettuando registrazioni a livello
nazionale ed internazionale con formazioni corali
professionali, fra cui il Robert Shaw Festival Chorus e il Coro dell'Oregon Bach Festival. Sotto la
sua direzione, a partire dal 1990, e stata invitata
ad esibirsi in numerosi stati con il Capital University Chapel Choir. Ha tenuto conferenze regionali,
nazionali e interna-zionali, festival e convegni,
tra cui l'American Choral Directors Association,
the National Col-legiate choral Organization, the
Ohio Music Educators Association, Associazione
nazionale per l'educazione musicale, e l'Associazione dei Musicisti Lutheran Church.
LYNDA HASSELER, D.M.A. is professor of music
and director of Choral Activities in the Conservatory of Music at Capital University in Columbus,
Ohio, where she directs the Chapel Choir, Choral
Union, and vocal chamber ensemble Philomel; and
teaches choral methods and conducting. At Trinity Lutheran Seminary she teaches graduate choral
conducting and choral methods. She is a graduate
of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and
received her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from Michigan State University.
As a clinician and guest conductor, she performs
regionally, nationally and internationally.
As an active singer, Dr. Hasseler has performed,
toured and recorded nationally and internationally
with professional choral ensembles, including the
Robert Shaw Festival Chorus and the Oregon Bach
Festival Chorus.
Under the direction of Dr. Has-seler since 1990,
the Capital University Chapel Choir has been
honored with invitations to perform for numerous
states, regional, national and international conferences, festivals, and conventions, including the
American Choral Directors Association, the National Collegiate Choral Organization, the Ohio
Music Educators Association, National Association for Music Education, and the Association of
Lutheran Church Musicians.

Olga Nikolaenko è nata nel 1955 a Voronezh
(Russia). È stata direttrice di coro presso l'Istituto artistico di Voronezh (1975-1997), del coro
maschile «Civil Engineering Academy» di Voronezh (1977-1981), del coro studentesco «Politecnico Academy» di Voronezh (1981-1989),
così come dell'«Alef- Ensemble» (1990-1997)
per partecipare al Festival corale internazionale
«Evrotreid-93» (Wolfenbüttel, Deutschland) nei
primi anni '90.
Dal 1997, Olga Nikolaenko, è alla guida del Coro da camera «Akademia» di Voronezh State
Institute of Arts. Ha fatto diverse tournée in tutto
il paese e all'estero, fra le quali vanno ricordate
quelle nel Regno Unito (Festival internazionale
di Aberdeen), in Francia, in Germania, in Polonia, in Georgia, in Estonia, in Ucraina e a Hong Kong.
Ha inoltre ricevuto diversi premi speciali come
direttore per l’ottima prestazione a Gorizia (Italia, 2007), a Praga (Repubblica Ceca, 2010), a
Linz (Austria, 2013) ed è spesso invitata come
membro di giuria in concorsi internazionali.

Olga Nikolaenko was born in 1955 in Voronezh, Russia. She has been conducted since 1975
until now different choirs.
She guided The Chamber Choir of Voronezh
State Institute of Arts (1975-1997), the Male
Choir of Voronezh Civil Engineering Academy
(1977-1981), Students Choir of Voronezh Polytechnical Academy (1981-1989), as well as the
“Alef-ensemble” (1990-1997) who also took part
at International Choral Festival “Evrotreid-93”
(Wolfenbuttel, Germany) in the early 1990´s.
Since 1997, Prof Olga Nikolaenko, has been
leading the Chamber Choir “Akademia” of Voronezh State Institute of Arts and been touring
throughout the country and abroad, including
tours in the United Kingdom (Aberdeen International Festival of arts), France, Germany, Poland,
Georgi, Estonia, Ukraine and Hong Kong.
Olga Nikolaenko is honoured with special prize
as a conductor for the high quality performance,
Gorizia (Italy, 2007), Prague (Czech Republic,
2010), Linz (Austria, 2013) and often invited to
international competition to support the jury.

Nato a Trento, si è diplomato in pianoforte, Musica
Corale e Direzione di Coro, Didattica della Musica
e in Composizione. Ha inoltre studiato con Franco
Donatoni, Salvatore Sciarrino ed Ennio Morricone
presso l’Accademia Chigiana di Siena, la Fondazione Romanini di Brescia ed il Festival delle
Nazioni di Città di Castello, ottenendo borse di
studio come miglior allievo italiano. Attivo come
pianista e come direttore di coro ha tenuto più di
800 concerti in tutta Europa, in Ukraina e nella

concorsi corali di Arezzo, Quartiano, Trento, Vittorio Veneto, con i cori Voci Roveretane e Coro
Voci Bianche Garda Trentino, ci sono nel 2012 i
primi premi ai concorsi internazionali di Riva del
Garda e Verona e al Nazionale di Biella con il
coro Città di Ala.
E’ Direttore Artistico del Concorso Nazionale ed
Internazionale Corale di Voci Bianche “Il Garda in
Coro” di Malcesine (Verona), del Concorso Nazionale per Cori Maschili “Luigi Pigarelli”. Board Advisor di IFCM-International Federation for Choral
Music per il biennio 2009-2011, dell’Associazione
Culturale EdizioniCorali.it, del Concorso Nazionale
“Luigi Pigarelli” per Cori Maschili di Arco (Trento)
e componente del Comitato tecnico Artistico della
Federazione Cori del Trentino. Già docente presso
i Conservatori di Pescara ed Adria, ora insegna
presso il Conservatorio di Trento.
Born in Trento (1962), he graduated in Piano cum
laude, Choral music & choir conduction, Music
didactics with the highest score and in Composition. He studied with Franco Donatoni, Salvatore
Sciarrino and Ennio Morricone and attended the
“Accademia Chigiana” in Siena, “Fondazione
Romanini” in Brescia and “Festival delle Nazioni”
in Città di Castello, during which he won a scholarship as the best Italian student. As pianist and
choir conductor as held more than 800 concerts
in Europe, Ukraine, Republic of China (Taiwan).
Many of his pieces have been published by Sulasol Editions (Helsinki), Edizioni Carrara (Bergamo),
A Coeur Joie (Lyon), Pro musica stadium (Roma),
Edizioni Federazione Cori del Trentino (Trento), Edizioni Musicali Europee (Milano), Choraliter (Feniarco), Tourdion (Associazione regionale Cori Valle
d’Aosta), UT ORPHEUS Edizioni (Bologna), Bo Ejeby Förlag (Göteborg) and they performed by some
of the leading choirs in the world. Among the many
victories as choir director at choral competitions
in Arezzo, Quartiano, Trento, Vit-thorium Veneto
with the mixed choir “Voci Roveretane” and the
children’s choir “Coro Voci Bianche Garda Trentino”, in 2012 he won the first prizes at the International Choral Competitions in Riva del Garda and
in Verona and at the National Choral Competition
in Biella with the male choir “Coro Città di Ala”.
He is the artistic director of the National and
International Choral Competition for Children
Choirs “Il Garda in Coro” in Malcesine (Verona), of the National Male Choral Competition
“Luigi Pigarelli” in Arco (Trento), Member of the
Technical-Artistic committee of the “Federazione
Cori del Trentino” and artistic director of the cultural association EdizioniCorali.it. He has been
Board Advisor of IFCM-International Federation for Choral Music for the years 2009-2011.
Formerly teacher at the Conservatories in Pescara
and Adria, he is now teaching at the Conservatory
in Trento.

Ole Faurschou, ha fatto il suo debutto come direttore nel 2003 con «The Royal Danish Academy of
Music», dopo aver terminato gli studi di direzione
di coro con il prof. Dan-Olof Stenlund. Si è diplomato in direzione d'orchestra presso l'Universität
für Musik und Darstellende Kunst di Vienna con il
prof. Uros Lajovic.
Risiede in Danimarca e lavora presso l'Orchestra
Giovanile School a Holstebro.
Il suo repertorio spazia da Mozart, a Bach, a
Haendel e cosí via.
Con il suo coro, «Academic Choir Aarhus», ha
vinto numerosi primi premi, fra i quali, quello
come «Miglior direttore» all'VIII Festival Corale
Internazionale di Pechino e al «Gran Premio», a
Roma nel 2015. Ha registrato diversi CD, alcuni
dei quali con la Naxos.
Ha inoltre diretto orchestre in Danimarca, in
Olanda, in Germania, in Polonia e in Ucraina e
ha girato la maggior parte dell'Europa, della Cina
e degli Stati Uniti, lavorando con il coro di «Den
Jyske Opera»; ha diretto spettacoli operistici: The
2nd opera e Opera in the Middle.
Ole Faurschou è molto impegnato in campo didattico e dell'educazione musicale dei bambini e
dei giovani. È stato promotore della «Holstebro
Music Classes» e della «Jutland Youth Symphony
Orchestra».
È docente di musica presso l'Università di Aarhus,
presso la Vestervig Church Music School; è docente
ospite presso ”The Royal Academy of Music”, Conservatorio di Musica Rhythmic Music” a Copenaghen, e su richiesta come docente ospite in direzione di coro.
È vice presidente dell'Associazione dei direttori
corali danesi. Attualmente lavora per ”Danish
Amateur Music Oraganization DAM” per migliorare e incrementare sia il lavoro dei direttori che
quello della vita musicale in generale.

Made his debut as a conductor in 2003 from ’The
Royal Danish Academy of Music’ after studies in
the choir conducting class of Prof. Dan-Olof Stenlund. Faurschou is also a graduate of orchestra
conducting at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien at Prof. Uroš Lajovic.
He resides and works at the ’Youth Orchestra
School’ in Holstebro, Denmark.
He has conducted a wide range of performances
of passions and masses by Mozart, Bach, Handel
and others. With his choir, ’Academic Choir Aarhus’, he has won numerous first – prices, including
the award as ’Best Conductor’ at the 8. International Choir Festival in Beijing, and ’Grand Prix’ in
Rome 2015, and recorded several CDs, including
on the label ’Naxos’.
He has conducted orchestras in Denmark, Holland, Germany, Poland and the Ukraine and
toured most of Europe, China and the United
States and has worked with the choir of ’Den Jyske
Opera’, conducted opera performances at ’The
2nd opera’ and ’Opera in the Middle’.
Ole Faurschou is very active in working with the
musical education of children and young people.
He was behind the upstart of ’Holstebro Music
Classes’ and ’Jutland Youth Symphony Orchestra’.
As lecturer in music on the University of Aarhus,
Vestervig Church Music School, guest lecturer on
’The Royal Academy of Music’, ’Rhythmic Music
Conservatory’ in Copenhagen, and in demand as
a guest lecturer and instructor at conducting, in
Denmark and abroad he is close to the people.
Ole Faurschou is Former Vice chairman of ’Danish Choral Conductors’, now working for ’Danish
Amateur Music Organization - DAM’ to improve
conditions for Danish conductors and Danish musical life in general.
