SCIENTIFIC EXPERTISE
Renata Archetti has more than 15 years’ experience of research and applied studies in the field of Maritime and Environmental
Hydraulics. She has published more than 130 papers and participated in a number of high profile international collaborative projects.
Her scientific research is mainly in the field of the Maritime and Environmental Hydraulics, including:
 Design of coastal structures and breakwaters (Berm breakwaters, vertical breakwaters, shore protection structures with special
attention to low crested structures).
 Risk analysis of extreme events.
 Beach defence schemes and methology with particular interest in nourishments.
 Pollution in coastal areas.
 Innovative technologies for the coastal monitoring (remote sensing, acustic instruments).
 Assessment of resources for renewable energy (wind waves mini hydro).
Beside these main research topics Renata Archetti has also worked on the assessment of risk due to debris flow and on the
monitoring of hydrological processes with microwaves.
Renata Archetti has extensive numerical and experimental experience both in laboratory and in the field.
