Dal 3° vol. “ Into English Plus” ed Loescher/ Cambridge con il supporto del testo di
grammatica "New Omnibus Reference Grammar " ed. Petrini sono state svolte le
seguenti unità didattiche:

- Unit 3. Real life.
Present perfect continuous. Should/ought to/ had better
-Unit 8. Truth or lies?
If-clauses (o/1st/2nd)
-Unit 11. True love.
Reported statements and questions. To say/to tell
Unit 12. Regret
Third conditional, I wish for present/past situations
Dal testo di letteratura "Visiting Literature" di Ansaldo, vol. 1° ed. Petrini sono stati
svolti i seguenti argomenti:

- The Roman invasion, the Roman heritage, the Hadrian's Wall.
- The Anglo-Saxon and Viking invasion, the introduction of Christianity
- The Norman conquest
The English Language: Old English , Middle English.





The Hundred Years’ War, The War of Roses
The Tudors:
- Henry VIII and the break with Rome. Mary Tudor. Elizabeth I and the Golden
Age.The Elizabethan Playhouse.

Sono stata lette le short stories:
1. The Fun They Had di I. Asimov
Butterflies di P. Grace
2. Yesterday Was Beautiful di R. Dahl 3.
EVENTUALI OSSERVAZIONI
Per gli studenti con “ sospensione di giudizio” si consiglia una revisione accurata
delle funzioni linguistiche e relative strutture grammaticali svolte nel corso dell'anno
scolastico e un ripasso degli argomenti di letteratura.
Durante la pausa estiva tutti gli studenti devono leggere le short stories:
 “ The Umbrella Man “ di R. Dahl
 “ Button Button” di R. Matheson
 “ The Oval Portrait” di E.A.Poe ( completa di esercizi in fotocopia)
