In collaboraQon with Green Management of the MeeQng: An ecological conference approach is planned, organised and carried out in order to minimise adverse environmental impacts, thus leaving a posiQve legacy for the hosQng community. The UNEP division “Sustainable United NaQons” (SUN-‐UN Sustainable) claims that the ecological conference should be structured to:
-‐ Minimise greenhouse gas emissions, including CO2, and compensate for unavoidable emissions; -‐ Minimise the consumpQon of natural resources (including water and energy) and fit the energy demand with available local resources;
-‐ Avoid as much as possible the producQon of waste and reuse or recycle those that remain;
-‐ ProtecQng biodiversity and water resources, air and soil;
-‐ Minimise the environmental impacts during the organisaQon and implementaQon of the convenQon;
-‐ Make the economic, social and environmental issues to the local community before and a[er the conference, as far as possible and promote local sustainable development;
-‐ Apply the principles of ecology in the purchase of products and services for the conference, and in the choice of locaQon, transport, catering and accommodaQon;
-‐ Make aware parQcipants, service workers and the local community to the values of sustainability, showing to everyone clear objecQves and ecological behaviour;
-‐ Involve as much as possible local guests , regional and naQonal sponsors, ciQzen groups, non-‐ governmental organisaQons (NGOs), business and technical experts "to comply with and support the principles.
