Standby Force to open headquarters in Ethiopia
Ethiopia has signed an
agreement to host the
headquarters
of
Eastern Africa Standby
Force (EASF) today.

After the signing of the
agreement,

Tsehay Insurance Reported 11.6 Million Birr Profit After Tax
Tsehay Insurance S.C.

increased
investment

government
bond.
Tsehay's total assets
have also increased by
67.2% to 140.3 million

assets 99.68 million Birr
has been invested in
shares
and
time
deposits.
The paid up capi tal of
Tsehay has increased by
43% to 42.46 million
Birr. However, Tsehay
short of the National
Bank
of
Ethiopia’s
minimum
paid-up
capital requirement of
60 million Birr.

Institute
releases
91
new
agricultural
technologies,
recommendations
The Ethiopian Institute
of
Agricultural
Research (EIAR) said it
has released new 91
agricultural
technologies
and
recommendations
in
the last six months.

Mekonen Hailu, told
WIC that the institution
has released 91 new
agricultural
technologies
and
scientific
recommendations
for
beneficiaries in the first
half of this budget year.

Mekonen noted that the
institute
mainly
releases
best
cro p
varieties,
improved
agricultural
practices
and
scientific
recommendations, and
efforts are exerted to
increase the supply of
agricultural
technologies.
The
Institute
undertakes promotion
and expansion of new
agricultural
technologies
by
participating
the
beneficiaries in order to
enable
them
appropriately utilize the
new
technologies,
Mekonen
indicated.
About 48, 298 farmers
have participated in the
technology promotion
program
during
the
stated period, he added.
Furthermore,
capacity
building trainings were
given for 8,901 farmers
that are beneficiaries of
the
agricultural
technology,
Mekonen
said. The institute had
planned to train 15, 982
farmers
across
the
country
during
the
period.
The Ethiopian Institute
of Agricultural Research
is currently celebrating
its 50th anniversary and
it has mandates to
adapt
imported
agricultural
technologies,
promotion
of
new
technologies

ACSI disburses over 968 million birr loan in six months
Addis

(ACSI) has disclosed
that it has disbursed
over 968 million birr
loan during the first
half of this budget
year.

managed
to
offer
968,436, 487 birr or 81
percents of the targeted
amount.

citizens
engaged
in
different activities in
the last six months, i t
has given loan for 17,
436 citizens in the
stated period.
The number of citizens
who have benefitted
from the loan and the
total amount of money
allocated for loan in the
last six months has
decreased by 7 and 6
percents respectively as
compared to the same
period last year, Miraf
underscore.
The
institution
has
provided a loan for
residents of Addis Abba
engaged in different
types
of
economic
activities, Miraf noted.
Particularly small and
micro
enterprises
involved
in
service,
trade
and
manufacturing sectors
have taken the largest
amount of the loan, she
added.
Addis credit and saving
institution
is
established
to
encourage the saving
culture in the society
and has also managed
to collect 658 , 515,
185 birr through its
saving services in six
months , planning to
collect 660, 309, 634
