In the ink heart of the night a wonderful silver moonbean shimmer in the
sky… the moonbean is thin and gentle and seems to hide a mystery… Perhaps also you could see her in transparency ….She is the spirit of Selene,
the Moon goddess … Long dark hair, black like the heart of the night, and
a romantic dress full of shimmering blue shades and purple ribbons…. Selene
is the sister of Aurora and with her she share the long black hair and the
stunning dress... Selene is the greek name of the The Roman moon goddess,
Luna, and you have to know that “Luna” had a temple on the Aventine
Hill. It was built in the sixth century BC, but was destroyed in the Great
Fire of Rome during Nero's reign. There was also a temple dedicated to
Luna Noctiluca ("Luna that shines by night") on the Palatine Hill. There
were festivals in honor of Luna on March 31, August 24 and August 29

Nella notte più nera una meravigliosa falce di luna brilla argentea nel
cielo...La falce è sottile ed aggraziata e sembra nascondere un mistero...Forse
riuscite a vederla anche voi, in trasparenza, leggera sta seduta Selene, dea
della Luna...dolcissima e romantica,vestita di blu irridescenti e nastri lilla, si
accompagna alla sorella Aurora, che con lei condivide i lunghi capelli corvini e
gli azzurri nella veste….Selene, il cui nome nella mitologia greca significa
"la risplendente" è nienete meno che nella nostra mitologia romana “Luna”…
Ancora oggi esistono i resti del tempio della Luna sull’Aventino ed un altro
sul Palatino Essa veniva festeggiata il 31 marzo ed il 24 e 29 Agosto...
