Manuale d’uso modem DEA718 Telit GT863-PY per strumenti E/R/M-Log
Introduzione
Il presente manuale descrive come installare e configurare il modem DEA718 per l’uso con strumenti di tipo E/R/M-Log.
1 - Configurazione modem
Il modem DEA718 è fornito da LSI LASTEM già configurato per il funzionamento in modalità GSM. Per consentire la trasmissione
GPRS con protocolli TCP o FTP è necessario modificare il file config.ini tramite il programma di emulazione terminale rsterm
(disponibile sul DVD MW6501 nella cartella Install\Support\RSTerminal). La modifica del file può essere fatta con un editor di testi
come ad esempio “Blocco note” di Windows.
1.1 – Trasferimento del file config.ini dal modem al PC
Per trasferire il file config.ini dal modem al PC procedere come segue:
1. Avviare il programma rsterm, scegliere il menu Init, selezionare la porta seriale a cui si intende collegare il modem (ad
esempio COM1), impostare Baudrate a 115200 e Flowcontrol a Hardware e premere il pulsante [Open];
2. Collegare il modem al cavo seriale ELA105 fornito insieme ad E/R/M-Log e solo successivamente accenderlo: il modem a
seguito delle precedenti operazioni si avvia in modalità comando ed è quindi disponibile ad essere configurato;
3. Dal menu Init premere il pulsante [AT] ed attendere la risposta “OK” dal modem;
4. Assicurarsi che il testo del primo pulsante in basso a sinistra sia AT#SELINT=2; in caso contrario impostare 2 nel rispettivo
menu a discesa; premere il pulsante [AT#SELINT=2] ed attendere “OK” dal modem;
5. Scegliere il menu Telit Python; premere il pulsante [AT#LSCRIPT] ed attendere che la lista Files in module visualizzi i file
del modem (_crcfun.pyo, common.pyo, config.ini, ecc.);
6. Premere il collegamento ipertestuale Working folder, click to change, scegliere la cartella dove verrà copiato il file di
configurazione (ad esempio “c:\temp”); assicurarsi che nella casella bianca alla sinistra di R ci sia il carattere * (asterisco);
se non fosse presente inserirlo e premere il bottone [R] alla sua destra; selezionare il file config.ini nella lista Files in
module; premere il pulsante [Download selected file(s) from module to PC] e scegliere Sì per proseguire; il messaggio
Done! avvisa che l’operazione è andata a buon fine;
7. Scegliere il menu Init, premere il pulsante [Close] e chiudere infine il programma rsterm.
1.2 – Modifica del file config.ini per la connessione alla rete GPRS
Per permettere il collegamento del modem alla rete GPRS è necessario modificare i parametri della sezione GPRS in base al gestore
della SIM utilizzata.

1.3 – Modifica del file config.ini per la trasmissione dei dati con protocollo TCP
Per la trasmissione dei dati con protocollo TCP è necessario modificare i parametri specificati nella seguente tabella:

Per la trasmissione dei dati con protocollo FTP è necessario modificare i parametri specificati nella seguente tabella:

Attenzione! Per un buon funzionamento i parametri utilizzati per la trasmissione con protocollo TCP devono essere vuoti.
1.5 – Trasferimento del file config.ini dal PC al modem
Per inviare il file config.ini dal PC al modem procedere come segue:
1. Seguire i punti da 1 a 4 della fase Scaricamento file config.ini dal modem al PC;
2. Scegliere il menu Telit Python; premere il collegamento ipertestuale Working folder, click to change, scegliere la cartella
che contiene il file di configurazione modificato (ad esempio “c:\temp”); assicurarsi che nella casella bianca alla sinistra di
R ci sia il carattere * (asterisco), se non fosse presente inserirlo e premere il bottone R alla sua destra, selezionare il file
config.ini nella lista Files in PC folder, premere il pulsante [Upload selected file(s) from PC to module] e scegliere Sì per
proseguire; il messaggio Done! avvisa che l’operazione è andata a buon fine;
3. Scegliere il menu Init, premere il pulsante [Close] e chiudere il programma rsterm.
2 - Installazione e collegamento modem
Inserire la scheda SIM (abilitata alla trasmissione GPRS e richiesta codice pin disabilitato) nell’apposito vano del modem. Alloggiare
il modem nella scatola dello strumento ed eseguire i collegamenti come indicato nel disegno accompagnatorio del datalogger in uso
incluso nella scatola del modem.
3 - Configurazione strumenti E/R/M-Log
La porta seriale 1 di E/R/M-Log deve essere configurata in base al tipo di collegamento e trasmissione dati scelto. La tabella seguente
riporta i parametri da modificare per ciascun tipo supportato. Per maggiori informazioni sulla configurazione dello strumento fare
riferimento al manuale SWUM_00286 del programma 3DOM.

Modem DEA718 Telit GT863-PY user’s Manual for E/R/M-Log datalogger
Introduction
This manual describes how to install and configure the DEA718 modem for using with E/R/M-Log datalogger.
1 – Modem configuration
DEA718 modem is supplied from LSI LASTEM ready for working in GSM modality. For GPRS transmission through TCP or FTP it
is necessary modify the config.ini file with rsterm terminal emulation software (available on MW6501 DVD in the folder
Install\Support\RSTerminal).
You can modify the file with a normal text editor (for example “Notepad” of Windows).
1.1 – Transfer the config.ini file from modem to PC
To download the config.ini file from the modem to the PC, follow this procedure:
1. Start rsterm software, choose Init menu and select the serial port for modem connection. Set Baudrate to 115200 and
Flowcontrol to Hardware and then click on [Open] button.
2. Connect modem to serial cable ELA105 and then (only then) power on the modem. It starts in command mode and it is
ready to be configured.
3. From Init menu press [AT] button and wait for “OK” answer from the modem.
4. Make sure that the text of first lower button on the left is AT#SELINT=2; if it isn’t, set 2in the pull-down menu and click on
the relative button; wait for “OK” answer from the modem.
5. Choose Telit Python menu; click on the [AT#LSCRIPT] button and wait for the display of the modem files (_crcfun.pyo,
common.pyo, config.ini, etc …) in the Files in module list.
6. Press on Working folder, click to change hyperlink and choose the folder where configuration’s file will be saved (for
example “c:\temp”);make sure that the character * (asterisk) is present in the white box at the left of R; if it is not present,
insert it and then click the [R] button on its right; select config.ini file in Files in module list, click on [Download selected
file(s) form module to PC] button and choose Yes in order to continue; the message Done! informs the user on positive
result.
7. Choose Init menu, click on [Close] button and then close rsterm program.
1.2 – Modify the config.ini file for connection to GPRS network
The following table relates SIM parameters that should be modified in config.ini file, in order to do the GPRS connection:

Attention! In order to have a good working, parameters used for transmission with FTP protocol must be empty (otherwise FTP

In order to have a good working system, parameters used for transmission with socket TCP must be empty.
1.5 – Transfer the config.ini file from PC to the modem
To send the config.ini file from PC to the modem, proceed as follows:
1. Follow steps 1 to 4 of Download the config.ini file from the modem to PC phase;
2. Choose the menu Telit Python; press the hyperlink Working folder, click to change, click the folder that contains the
modified configuration file (for example “c:\temp”); make sure that in the white box at the left of R there is the character *
(asterisk); if it isn’t, plug and press the R button to the right; select the config.ini file from the Files in PC folder list; press
the [Upload selected file(s) from PC to module] button and click Yes to continue; the message Done! informs that the
operation was successful;
3. Choose the Init menu, press the [Close] button and close rsterm software.
2 – Modem installation and connection
Insert the SIM card (GPRS-enabled transmission and request pin code disabled) into the appropriate compartment of the modem.
Place the modem in the box of datalogger and make the connections as shown in the datalogger drawing in use included in the box of
the modem. For more information, you can see the chapter “Modem power supply” of datalogger manual.
3 – E/R/M-Log configuration
Serial port 1 of E/R/M-Log must be configured in accord with the selected type of connection and data transmission. The following
table shows the parameters to be modified for each supported type. For more information about the datalogger configuration, you can
see SWUM_00286 manual (3DOM software).
