Fusion – Pennino rivoluzionario
Un appassionato di stilografiche è costantemente alla ricerca di nuove esperienze di
scrittura. Ogni penna non è solo un inanimato oggetto da allineare alla propria collezione, ma un tramite, un’estensione della propria mano che permetta di raggiungere
quelle sensazioni che soddisfino la voglia di creatività ed espressione. Ognuno, attraverso la propria grafia, ha un personalissimo modo di esprimersi. Eppure essa varia,
in meglio o in peggio, al diverso “sentire” dello strumento di scrittura. Perseguire la
penna che si plasmi perfettamente alla nostra gestualità grafica si può quindi definire il
Nirvana del cultore della scrittura manuale.
In occasione della collaborazione con Delta per realizzare la penna celebrativa del forum
fountainpen.it, il progresso e l’innovazione hanno finalmente offerto qualcosa che potesse
elevare l’esperienza di scrittura a un livello superiore. Focalizzandosi sull’elemento che più
si avvicina alla carta e all’inchiostro, alla materia stessa dell’espressione, Delta ha realizzato
ciò che può avvicinare ciascuno di noi a quell’esperienza di sensazioni appaganti: il nuovo

Premessa – “Invenzione al Plurale”
Il pennino rappresenta probabilmente l’elemento più importante della penna stilografica, in quanto svolge il fondamentale
duplice ruolo di portare a contatto e stendere l’inchiostro sulla
carta. E’ l’elemento che dà allo scrittore la sensazione fisica
ed il carattere della penna. Storicamente, il materiale universalmente riconosciuto come migliore per fabbricare i pennini
è l’oro, essendo il metallo nobile per eccellenza, nonché il più
resistente alla corrosione degli inchiostri. Tuttavia, l’evoluzione
tecnologica ha consentito la produzione di pennini in leghe di
acciaio che hanno dimostrato possedere una passività e una
resistenza alla corrosione persino maggiore rispetto all’oro e
alle sue leghe.
Nonostante questa caratteristica, ancorché accompagnata da
un’esperienza di scrittura equiparabile se non superiore a quella
dell’oro, la penna stilografica dotata di pennino di acciaio è comunemente sinonimo di scarso pregio e di inesistente fascino.
Contrariamente, infatti, a tutt’oggi si è portati ad associare alla
penna stilografica con pennino in oro, a un oggetto dal valore superiore malgrado sul piano tecnico abbia caratteristiche
analoghe, se non inferiori, rispetto all’acciaio. Non per ultimo
l’acciaio presenta caratteristiche di flessibilità e resistenza
meccanica che l’oro, a causa de la sua estrema malleabilità,
non possiede.
“FUSION” nuova soluzione
L’invenzione si riferisce a una nuova tipologia di penne stilografiche provviste di un pennino, i cui elementi costitutivi sono
assemblati in modo da migliorare le caratteristiche tecniche
proprie di una penna stilografica, come la qualità della scrittura
attraverso una maggiore fluidità dell’inchiostro; nello stesso
tempo sono conferite alla penna gradevoli caratteristiche estetiche e di pregio, pur mantenendo abbordabile il prezzo.
“FUSION” è un nuovo pennino elaborato da DELTA. Esso
è costituito da una combinazione di materiali differenti
che rendono la penna stilografica ancor più funzionale,
esaltando le proprietà chimico-fisiche dell’inchiostro
con un sistema di assemblaggio atto ad aumentare l’efficienza della penna stessa. Non da meno, la penna stilografica è più preziosa e allo stesso tempo meno costosa.
Qualità di scrittura
Grazie alle sue caratteristiche costruttive, l’inchiostro è reso
più fluido in prossimità della punta del pennino, perché
FUSION presenta una “lastra” di materiale prezioso (oro,
palladio o altre leghe nobili), che per le caratteristiche
di elevata conducibilità termica, tenderà a riscaldare il
metallo sottostante (acciaio, titanio o altri); a sua volta il
metallo sottostante trasferisce il calore all’inchiostro in
transito tra il conduttore e la punta del pennino. Il maggior
calore rende più fluido l’inchiostro. Nel contempo, il pennino
avrà caratteristiche di resistenza e durata a lunghe sessioni di
scrittura, superiori a quelle dei pennini completamente in oro.
Efficienza e adattabilità a tutti
Il piacere di scrivere a mano utilizzando una bella penna stilografica è talvolta contrastato dal tanto difficile quanto appropriato
suo utilizzo a lungo termine; utilizzatori appassionati ed esperti
di scrittura a mano, non possono negare le ricorrenti difficoltà
nello scrivere “stilografico”, soprattutto quando si usa un pennino in oro: sono necessarie continue correzioni alla punta del
pennino che spesso si deforma, anche se in misura impercettibile.
FUSION è un pennino che presenta caratteristiche di
resistenza superiori, adattandosi a qualsiasi mano, anche se a scrivere è il neofita nuovo utilizzatore.
Gradevolezza estetica e pregio
La base del pennino FUSION è in lega di acciaio o altro metallo, coperto e arricchito da una “lastra” di metallo prezioso: la

progress and innovation have finally offered something that could elevate the writing experience to the next level. Focusing on the element that is closest to the paper and ink, the essence of expression, Delta has created something that can consent each one of us to experience
that satisfying feeling: the new Fusion pen.
The nib is probably the most important element of the fountain
pen, as it plays the crucial dual role of bringing in contact and
spreading the ink onto the paper. It is also the element that gives the writer the physical sensation and character of the pen.
Historically, universally recognized material to manufacture the
nibs has been gold, as the noble metal par excellence, due to
its high resistance to corrosion. However, technological developments have allowed the production of alloy steel nibs that
have been proven to have an even greater corrosion resistance
compared to gold and its alloys. Despite this characteristic,
even if accompanied by writing experience comparable if not
superior to that of gold, the fountain pen nib with steel is commonly synonymous with low value and modest appeal. Contrary, in fact, to date we are led to associate a fountain pen with

“FUSION” New solution
The invention relates to a new type of fountain pen provided
with a nib, which will improve the technical features of the
fountain pen, by improving the quality of writing through increased fluidity of the ink; this new process adds pleasing aesthetic
characteristics to the nib as value is bestowed upon the pen,
while keeping the price affordable.
“FUSION” is a new nib developed by Delta. It consists
of a combination of different materials that make the
fountain pen even more functional, enhancing the physical-chemical properties of the ink with an assembly
system adapted to increase the efficiency of the pen itself. Hence, the fountain pen is more precious and at the
same time less expensive.

Writing quality
Thanks to its production characteristics, the ink is made more
fluid in the vicinity of the tip of the nib, because FUSION features a “plate” of precious material (gold, palladium or
other noble alloys), that due to its high thermal conductivity, will tend to heat the underlying metal (steel, titanium or other) and the underlying metal, in turn, transfers
heat to the ink in transit between the conductor and the
tip of the nib.
