Atypical altho ugh perfectly integrating the rural landscape, the pro ject pro po ses to Villa Hermitage a new thresho ld. The pro ject, tho ught mo re like a big ho use than an apartment building, co nsists o f the fo llo wing: a vo lume dug no rth and so uth and then fragmented in its center to o ffer co mmo n areas (co rrido rs and stair) a visual relatio nship with enviro nment. Fo r mo st unique in their partitio ning, apartments o pen very differently to the o utside depending o n the situatio n. Thus, when smaller ho mes have two o r three directio ns (except studio s), so me 4-ro o m apartments enjo y up to six different o rientatio ns. In additio n, each unit has been designed so as to appear larger than it is in truth. Based o n the reco mmendatio ns develo ped by the Effinergie, the SIEMP co nsidered an o peratio n o f 8 po sitive energy ho using (pro ducing mo re energy than it co nsumes). 6 7m² o f pho to vo ltaic panels and 12m² o f so lar thermal co llecto rs were therefo re carefully integrated to the terrace, so that technical so lutio ns do no t spo il the architectural harmo ny o f the building. Thermal triple glazed lo w-emissivity jo inery, natural lighting o f co mmo n areas, co llective co ndensing gas bo iler, simple ventilatio n hygro -adjustable flo w with air inlets planned in the maso nry and reinfo rced insulatio n are also invo lved in the thermal perfo rmance o f the building. Lo cated in the heart o f the charming Hermitage neighbo rho o d in the 20 th arro ndissement o f Paris, the plo t o nce o ccupied by tall trees and an o ld theater in ruins, is surro unded by ro utes o n three sides: the Hermitage street to the West, The Villa o f the Hermitage in the no rth and the impasse Lo uis Ro bert, a private street o n the so uth with no direct view allo wed.
