Vacanze prolungate o aeromodellistiche?
Vacanze prolungate o aeromodellistiche?
Riportiamo integralmente l’invito ricevuto:
“Every September for last many years we have in Ukraine (South part, Crimea Peninsula, close to
the town Feodosia on the Black Sea) traditional competition, which are part of National Cup and
part of Team selection.
This time Artem BABENKO, who is living there now (built a new house) show me a new field,
which is flat and very big and we will move our competition next year there.
Except field there are many other advantages:
- many good and cheap accommodation places, close to the flying site - 10-15 km. Prices starts
from 3 EUR/person/night;
- good food;
- good nature, warm Black Sea and nice beaches. Hot vacation season is over and not many
people this time of the year;
- Ukrainian modelers coming to this competition with all their family and mix flying with vacation.
Many points of interests in Crimea. For example: Feodosia in 1971 had 2500 years old!!!
We have a wish to share all this advantages with the other (not only Ukrainian flyers) and organize
World Cup competition there. To compensate travel distance (it is 12 hours drive from Kyiv, for
example) the idea is to run 3 World Cups. Limit from Ukraine is used by Antonov Cup and Kharkiv.
Therefore, I contacted already guys from Baltic Republics (Lithuania and Latvia) and they support
this idea to run competition under their names on our field. Sure, that Estonia will also support us.
Entry Forms will be sent by Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. There will be contact addresses from
them as well as mine and Artem Babenko as local organizers (for accommodation, food,
transportation, etc).The name, dates and conditions of competitions are below.
Except World Cup classes as F1A, B, C, P and Q we are going to run small events as F1H and
F1G (maybe J in case of entries), especially through Juniors. We already made one competition in
Odessa in 2007 (at Black Sea Cup before World Champs) called UNDER 11 (anybody under 11
years old can fly any Free Flight model. 5 flights, no rounds, self timing, 3 best results counted.
Then fly off). That time we had F1A, F1B, F1H, F1G flown together and the winner was 9 years girl
with F1G, the first competition flown. Now she is a member of F1B Junior Team. Very nice and
useful event, I think.
There can be many ways how support Free Flight. Most discussed now - Restricted Technologies
and things like that. But, I think, most effective way at least to save people, who already flying, but
close to leave our society - good organized on good field competition, where all family coming
together. Father with kids flying and mom helping them or Organizers run competition. Then they
have a time for a few days of rest on same place.
Hope for your positive reaction.
Regards,Victor STAMOV”
