CE.F.A.C. - Centro Formazione Alta Cultura - as official Producer of the opera Don
Giovanni by W.A. Mozart within the Pafos Aphrodite Festival 2016, is seeking talented
Cypriot singers for the staging of the above mentioned opera.
Auditions will be held for the following roles:
Donna Anna (II Cast) - soprano
Donna Elvira (II Cast) - soprano or mezzosoprano
Leporello (II Cast) - bass
Masetto - bass
RULES.
1. AGE RESTRICTIONS.
The Competition is open to all Cypriot singers who have reached 18 years old on
December 31st 2016.
2. REGISTRATION AND ADMISSION.
Each applicant must confirm her/his participation by email to [email protected]
In order to be eligible to take part in the auditions, all applications should include the
following information in order to be valid:
• completed application form
• Vocal range
• CV
• Copy of your passport
• Demo or Audio-Video Registration of recent performances

3. COMMITTEE.
The Committee is made up of 3 members, from the international music world.
The decisions of the Committee are final and cannot be appealed.
The Committee will be composed by:
Maestro Paolo Barbacini - Tenor
Maestro Roberto Saltini - Conservatorio G. Verdi di Parma and CEO of CE.F.A.C.
Maestro Fabio Torrembini - Production Manager CE.F.A.C.
4. REHEARSALS AND PROGRAMME.
4.1. The first selection will be done via demos so please send your demo by email to
[email protected] within May 27th 2016.
All the applicants will be notified of the results by email no later than may 27th 2016.
The selected singers must confirm their participation in the Final Auditions by
replying to our invitation email.
4.2. The Final Auditions will take place at Teatro Nuovo in Salsomaggiore Terme (Parma)
on June 7th 2016 at 3.00 p.m.
C.F.A.C. will not be responsible for any costs of hospitality or expenses concerning
flights and local transportation.
4.3. The order of appearance of the candidates will be chosen by the Committee.
4.4. The selected candidates must present 1 (one) piece of their choice among their own
repertoire (the title of the aria and the opera it is taken from must be indicated in the
application form) and the following compulsory arias listed below:
Donna Anna:
Or sai chi l’onore from Act I with recitativo Don Ottavio, son morta
Donna Elvira:
Ah fuggi il traditor from Act I
In quali eccessi o Numi...mi tradì quell'alma ingrata from Act II
Leporello:
Madamina, il catalogo è questo from Act I

All the arias must be performed by heart and always include a recitative and
cabaletta. The whole program must be sung in original language. The candidates
must come to rehearsal with the piano scores of the selected pieces (only for the aria
of their own repertoire).
4.5. During the Auditions a pianist will be made available to all candidates for rehearsals
and auditions. The rehearsals will take place during the morning from 11.00 a.m.
The rehearsals’ order of appearance will be chosen by the Committee.
4.6. Each candidate can however be accompanied by a pianist of his/her own choice at
his/her own expense.
4.7. Late arrival of candidates will not be permitted to ensure the Audition proceeds as
scheduled. Any exception will have to be authorized by the Chairman of the
Committee.
4. SELECTIONS.
4.1. The Committee will notify its decisions to the candidates at the end of the Final
Auditions.
4.2. The Committee reserves the right not to offer contract agreements in case the
soloist does not perform adequately and according to the requested artistic level
of the production.
5. AUDIO AND VIDEO RECORDING.
CE.F.A.C. reserve the right to film, record and broadcast, with no time limitations, the
Final Auditions and the performances of the Opera. By submitting the application, all
candidates give permission to use such recordings, including those deemed for
commercial use and is being presented with no payment neither required nor implied
to the candidates.
6. CANCELLATION.
Should the Auditions not take place due to unforeseen circumstances, the
applications will be cancelled and the candidates will not make any further complaints
