Itinerario base
Giunti all’aeroporto di Marsh Harbour un taxi vi condurrà fino
alla Marina. Se arrivate presto, consigliamo di visitare la
cittadina. In origine, prima di diventare un centro agricolo, era
il centro delle spugnature delle Bahamas, ma oggi Marsh
Harbour rappresenta uno dei principali insediamenti nel nord
dell’isola. Sull’isola ci sono diversi ristoranti, alcuni dei migliori
locali delle Bahamas, e ottime botteghe di artigianato tipico
dove fare shopping. La cena è a bordo del catamarano.
Primo giorno
La giornata inizia con una tranquilla navigazione verso Great
Guana Cay. L’ancoraggio è in una baia molto carina, vicino
Fischers Bay. Great Guana è nota anche per il celebre Nipper
Bar, famoso per l’arrosto di maiale della domenica. Tutti
insieme, seduti su una bellissima spiaggia bianca lungo
l’Atlantico, si trascorrerà una bella domenica al Nipper, luogo
ideale per la giornata. Spiagge, immersioni, snorkeling e buona
cucina – ce n’è per tutti!
Secondo giorno
Dopo la colazione si parte alla scoperta di Treasure Cay, un
luogo che il National Geographic ha inserito tra le 10 spiagge
più belle del mondo! La sabbia è morbidissima! Ci sono tutti i
confort che si possono desiderare, dai campi da tennis ai
negozi e ottimi bar e ristoranti.
Terzo giorno
Questa mattina si salpa verso Man of War. Man of War è un
luogo sonnecchiante, prosperoso e ben tenuto. Gli Alburys,
famosi per le loro barche smack boat, continuano ancora oggi a
costruire piccoli gommoni e navi in città. Non dimenticate di
fare un salto da Sally’s, che offre deliziosi piatti tipici del posto.
Potrete fare snorkelling sulla costa oceanica dell’isola ma, state
lontano dai coccodrilli!
Route
Upon arrival into Marsh Harbor Airport, take a short taxi into
town on your way to our home base at Harbour View Marina.
Arrive early to explore the Marsh Harbor town. Originally,
before becoming an agriculture hub, the Bahamas Marsh
Harbor was a sponging center but is now one of the main
settlements in the northern islands. The islands include several
restaurants and some of the best night life in the Bahamian
chain, as well as great shopping for local arts and gifts. Later
on that evening we’ll enjoy dinner on the yacht.
Cruising Day 1
We cruise towards Great Guana Cay where we anchor by a
lovely cay in Fishers Bay. Great Guana is the home of the
locally famous Nippers Bar with its equally famous Sunday hog
roast. Spending the day at a beautiful white beach of the
Atlantic ocean, continuing at Nippers Bar, is the ideal way to
waste away your Sunday. Beaches, snorkeling, diving or
eating and drinking – there’s something for everyone.
Cruising Day 2
After lunch we cruise to Treasure Cay which was listed in
National Geographic’s Top 10 beaches in the World! Can sand
really be that soft? It also has every convenience one could
desire including excellent bars and restaurants as well as
tennis, golf, swimming and several shops.
Cruising Day 3
We set off for a cruise to Man of War. Man of War is a sleepy,
but prosperous and well maintained settlement. The Alburys,
famous for their Bahamian smack boats, that still to this day,
continue to build both small dinghies and larger vessels in the
town. Don’t forget to check out Sally’s take-out, offering
delicious local food. Snorkeling can be found on the ocean side
of the island. But watch out for the crocodiles!

Quarto giorno
Si scende dalla barca per procedere lentamente nelle acque
trasparenti di Tahiti Beach. Il fondale è basso e la spiaggia
morbida – quale modo migliore per raggiungere una
bellissima spiaggia? Dopo il pranzo si naviga verso Hope
Town, dove c’è uno dei porti più pittoreschi delle Bahamas. A
dominare la città è il tanto fotografato faro dalle strisce
bianche e rosse, uno dei tre fari a cherosene e ben
conservato che ci sono al mondo. Il faro è utilizzato ancora
oggi dai marinai delle Bahamas e contribuisce a rendere il
panorama della crociera spettacolare. Hope Town è un paese
carino con un’ampia scelta di negozi per souvenir, ristoranti
tipici, musei e case.. Si passerà la serata a terra in una dei
fantastici ristorantini sul porto.
Quinto giorno
Si naviga verso il sud di Abaco per raggiungere delle isolette
fuori mano. Trascorrerete la giornata in spiaggia, o facendo
snorkelling
sulla
barriera
corallina
alla
scoperta
dell’abbondante vita sottomarina o andremo nella zona delle
immersioni per chi vorrà farle. Sull’isola non c’è nessuna altro
tipo di vita. Il pomeriggio passerà sorseggiando freschi
cocktail mentre si ammira il tramonto.
Sesto giorno
Dopo la colazione ci si dirige verso Harbour View con tappa a
Matt Lowers. Qui si fa l’ultimo bagno nel mare di Abaco prima
di rientrare verso la marina. Si cena a terra e si festeggerà la
nostre splendida settimana con la gente del posto, mentre
ascoltiamo una band locale.
Settimo giorno
Dopo la colazione, ci scambiamo email e foto nell’attesa di
rivederci a bordo per un’altra crociera insieme.
Cruising Day 4
Step off the boat and wade through crystal blue waters onto
Tahiti Beach. The waters are shallow and the sand is so soft –
is there a better way to get to a beautiful beach? After lunch,
we cruise up to Hope Town, which is one of the most
picturesque harbors in the Bahamas. Dominating the town, is
the well-photographed red and white striped lighthouse,
which is one of the only three kerosene lighthouses in the
world. It is very well preserved and is still in use by sailors in
the Bahamas. It also provides you with amazing panoramic
views of your cruising grounds. Hope Town is a charming
settlement with a wide selection of gift shops, restaurants,
historic museums and houses. We’ll spend the evening eating
ashore at one of the lovely harbor side restaurants.
Cruising Day 5
We cruise down to the south of Abaco to find our own
secluded island. Here we’ll spend the day laying on the beach
or snorkeling in the reefs with its abundant sea life. Here you
could also choose to go for a deeper dive. Nothing compares
to having an island all to yourself, spending the early evening
with a cocktail whilst watching the sun go down.
Cruising Day 6
A delicious breakfast to start the day and we head back
towards Harbour View, stopping at Matt Lowes Cay. We enjoy
swimming in the Sea of Abaco before heading back to the
marina for dinner ashore, celebrating our fantastic week with
the locals, listening to local bands.
Departure Day
After breakfast we swap emails and photos and we send you
home with great memories and anticipation for your next
sailing experience with us.
