Hounds entering both the Club Show on April 30th and the International Lure Coursing Trial on May 1st 2011 will run for the awardening of a special trophy kindly donated by Daniela Iori and Marcello Poli in
loving memory of their Irish Wolfhound ALICE IN WONDERLAND. Sighthound breeds allowed to run for this trophy are those registered at Club del Levriero entering both the Club Meeting in any classes

COME ARRIVARE HOW TO GET BY CAR
Autostrada A4 Milano - Venezia, uscita DESENZANO. Seguire direzione Salò. Al cartello di colore bianco, posto in alto, di Manerba del Garda, dopo circa 30 metri troverete una rotonda e prendete la strada a destra, direzione Manerba centro. Troverete
un’altra rotonda, seguite sempre Manerba centro girando a destra “Palasport”. Dopo circa 600 metri, alla rotonda prendete la
prima a destra via delle Noveglie. Passare il campo sportivo di calcio che rimane sulla sinistra ed avanti ancora circa 200 metri
(dopo il vigneto) a sinistra trovate scritto “CAMPO GARA”.
A4 Highway (Milan-Venice), exit Desenzano del Garda. Follow S.S. 572, direction Salò, until you see a white sign indicating
“Manerba sul Garda”.After about 30 meters, you will find a roundabout; take the road to the right towards Manerba Center.
You will find another roundabout; follow direction Manerba Center, than turn right towards “Palasport”.
After about 600 meters, at the roundabout take the first right: Noveglie Street.
On the left you will see a football field. Continue about 200 meters and after the vineyard you will see the notice “CAMPO GARA”.

La mia esperienza con gli Whippet a questo punto data ad oltre 37 anni. Ho avuto il mio primo
Whippet e la femmina fondatrice del mio allevamento nel 1973, una fulvo chiara con maschera argento, che nel 1975 è stata il mio primo campione americano di bellezza ed il mio primo
campione di coursing. Da allora ho allevato un certo numero di campioni americani con il mio
affisso Timbrel e ho allevato parecchi altri campioni in partnership con Nubby Errickson con il
suo affisso Amigo. Ho avuto eccellenti risultati nonostante un programma di allevamento molto ridotto. Ho sempre allevato per avere cani in salute, con l’idea che la bellezza e la funzionalità debbano essere la finalità ricercata in ogni singolo soggetto. In questi anni ho anche
posseduto ed esposto Afgani, Saluki e Podenchi Ibicenchi. Al momento ho due Whippet ed
un Saluki.
Sono stato abilitato dall’American Kennel Club a giudicare Whippet e Afgani nel 1987, Saluki
e PLI nel 1989 ed oggi sono abilitato a tutto il gruppo Hound ed ai PLI, a giudicare i concorsi
di Junior Handling ed i Best in Show negli Stati Uniti. Ho giudicato gli Whippet sia in Canada,
che in Australia e molte volte negli Stati Uniti. Ho avuto il grande privilegio di giudicare il Raduno dell’American Whippet Club nell’aprile del 2010. Sono anche l’attuale presidente dell’American Whippet Club.
Sono veramente onorato di essere stato invitato a giudicare in una così prestigiosa manifestazione di levrieri in Italia e non vedo l’ora di poterlo fare.
Ontario, Canada - a soli 20 minuti dalle splendide Cascate del Niagara, è dove sono nata e
tuttora vivo. La mia famiglia ha sempre avuto cani e fin da quando mi ricordi e crescendo, ho
sempre voluto un levriero afgano. Nel 1972 ho acquistato il mio primo levriero afgano. Da
allora, non sono mai stata senza almeno un rappresentante di questa splendida razza, con

7 mesi e mezzo e 13 anni e mezzo. Come proprietaria, allevatrice ed handler, ho avuto il privilegio di produrre molti campioni canadesi ed americani. I cani del mio allevamento sono
vincitori di molte speciali e di raggruppamenti e si sono dimostrati molto portati per il coursing,
l'obbedience e l’agility. Sono estremamente orgogliosa di dire che una femmina del mio allevamento è stata anche per il 2009 il levriero afgano numero 2 in agility negli Stati Uniti. All’Invitational Eukanuba a Long Beach California è stata il miglior levriero afgano in agility. All'età
di 7anni è ora addestrata come cane da tracking! Il mio coinvolgimento nella cinofilia include
l'essere membro da lungo tempo del Canadian Kennel Club, dell'Afghan Hound Club of Canada, e di essere attiva in due Kennel Club che rappresentano tutte le razze. Attualmente ricopro le posizioni del vice presidente e responsabile del rescue del Afghan Hound Club
del Canada ed ho ricoperto posizioni dirigenziali con questo club per molti anni, oltre ad essere Show Chairman delle due National Specialty Shows. Nel 2004 ho avuto la fortuna di andare presto in pensione dalla mia carriera di direttore delle Risorse Umane. Questo mi ha dato

My experience with Whippets dates back over 37 years at this point in time. I got my first
Whippet in 1973 and my foundation bitch, a silver masked fawn that turned out to be my first
American conformation champion and first lure coursing champion in 1975. Since that time I
have bred a number of American champions under my Timbrel kennel name and co-bred
several other champions with Nubby Errickson under her Amigo prefix. I have had some very
good fortune with a very small breeding program. I have always bred for healthy dogs with the
idea that beauty and function must be the goal achieved in each individual dog. I have also
owned and shown Afghan Hounds, Salukis and Ibizan Hounds over the years. I currently have two Whippets and a Saluki.
I was approved by the American Kennel Club to judge Whippets and Afghan Hounds in 1987;
Salukis and Italian Greyhounds in 1989 and I am now currently approved to judge the Hound
Group, Italian Greyhounds, All-Breed Junior Showmanship and Best In Show in the United
States. I have judged Whippet specialties in both Australia and Canada as well as several
here in the U.S. I was extremely privileged to judge the American Whippet Club National Specialty in April of 2010. I am also the current President of the American Whippet Club.
I am greatly honored to have been asked to judge at such a prestigious sighthound show in
Italy and am already looking forward to this assignment.
Ontario, Canada - just 20 minutes from beautiful Niagara Falls is where I was born and still
live. Growing up, my family has always had dogs and as far back as I can remember I always
wanted an Afghan Hound. In 1972 I purchased my first Afghan Hound. Since then, I have
never been without at least one of this beautiful breed to share my home and my life. Presently 4 Afghan Hounds ranging in age from 7-1/2 months to 13-1/2 years grace my furniture
and my yard. As a breeder, owner and handler I have had the privilege of producing and finishing many Canadian and American Champions. Dogs of my breeding have many specialty
and group wins and have proven themselves to be multi-talented in lure coursing, obedience
and agility. I am extremely proud to say that a bitch of my breeding went on to be the Number
2 Agility Afghan in the US in 2009. At the Eukanuba Invitational in Long Beach California she
finished as number one Agility Afghan Hound. She is now being trained as a tracking dog at
the age of 7! My club involvement includes being a long time member of the Canadian Kennel
Club, the Afghan Hound Club of Canada, and being active in 2 all-breed Kennel Clubs. Presently I hold the positions of Vice-President and Rescue Chairman of the Afghan Hound Club
of Canada and have held Executive positions with this club for many years as well as being

Show Chairman for 2 National Specialty Shows. In 2004 I was fortunate to retire early from my
career as a Director of Human Resources. This gave me the opportunity to pursue judging and
to learn about so many different breeds. I am licensed in Canada to judge all of the breeds in
the Hound Group and I am on permit for a number of breeds in the Sporting Group. I have had
the privilege of judging specialties (Sighthound and Afghan Hound) in both
Canada and the United States and am very excited at this opportunity to
come to Italy and judge the beautiful Afghans at your specialty.

Giudico da 28 anni ed ho levrieri afgani da 35 ma la mia prima esperienza l'ho fatta con i barboni, perché mia mamma ha allevato questa razza per 40 anni. Ora, giudico tutti i levrieri (13
razze), tutti i Podenghi, Pharaon Hound, Cirneco dell'Etna, Shiba, Basenji, Akita e tutti i Barboni. Sono anche giudice internazionale di Racing e Coursing. Sono stata presidente del Comitato Tecnico Levrieri Corse e Coursing all'ENCI. Sono membro dei tre club levrieri AIALA,
CDL e CPLI. Il mio sogno è di vedere levrieri belli, veloci ed orgogliosi. Ho giudicato in molti
paesi del mondo: Austria, Belgio, Danimarca, Finlandia, Francia, Germania, Lussemburgo,
Olanda, Norvegia, Russia, Slovacchia, Spagna, Svezia, Svizzera e USA.
La mia vita non è solo l'impegno con i cani ma è occupata da mio marito, due figli e tre adorabili nipotine.
Ho acquistato ed iniziato ad esporre il mio primo cane di razza quando avevo 16 anni. Ne
avevo solamente 19 quando mi sono associato al FALAPA, il Club francese che tutela Afgani
e Saluki, ma non ho avuto il mio primo Saluki che nel 1970.
Nel 1976 sono stato eletto Presidente del FALAPA, ma per me troppo impegnativo in relazione alla mia professione di medico e così mi sono dimesso dalla carica dopo tre anni, ma ho
continuato ad essere il responsabile della rivista del Club fino al 1985.
Ho iniziato a giudicare nel 1978 ed ho ricevuto l’abilitazione ad internazionale nel 1980. Giudico tutte le razze levriere ed alcune del gruppo 5. Ho avuto l’occasione di essere invitato quale
esperto a raduni ed esposizioni famose in differenti parti del mondo, cosa che mi ha dato la
possibilità di avere un osservatorio davvero internazionale giudicando in Australia, Austria,
Belgio, Canada, Danimarca, Finlandia, Francia, Germania, Gran Bretagna, Italia, Nuova Zelanda, Norvegia, Spagna, Svezia, Svizzera e Stati Uniti.
I have been a show judge for 28 years and I have been breeding for 35 years but my first experiences were with poodles, because my mother was breeder for 40 years. Now I judge all
Sighthounds FCI (13 breeds), all Podengos, Pharaon hound, Cirneco dell’Etna, Shiba, Basenji, Akita and all Poodles. I am also international judge of Lure Coursing and Racing.
I have been appointed chairwoman of Italian Kennel Club of racing and coursing. I am a
member of AIALA (Afghan Club), CPLI (Italian Greyhound Club) and CDL (Club for other all
the remaining breeds of Sighthounds). My greatest dream is to see beautiful, fast and proud
sighthounds. I judge in many country in the world: Austria, Belgium, Danmark, Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Nederland, Norway, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, USA. My life is not only engagement about dogs, but busy about
my two sons and three cute granddaughters.
I bought and started showing my first pure-bred dog when I was sixteen. I was only nineteen
when I joined the French Club FALAPA (for Afghans and Salukis) but I didn't have my first
Salukis before 1970.
In 1976 I was elected President of the FALAPA Club,but that was really too much besides my
medical practice, so I decided to resign from the presidency after three years though carrying
on with the responsibility of the Club magazine until 1985. I started judging in 1978 and got
my international license in 1980. I judge all the Sighthound breeds plus some of the 5th group.
I had the opportunity to be asked to judge specialties and renowned shows in different parts
of the world, giving me the possibility to have a very international view by judging in Australia,
Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and USA.

Il mio ingresso nel mondo espositivo risale al 18 dicembre 1985, all'esposizione internazionale di Genova: sono titolare dell'affisso "Kiltown
Abbey" dal 1995, giudice per la razza Greyhound dal 2007, mentre l'abilitazione a tutto il
gruppo X mi è stata concessa quest'anno. Ho prodotto con il mio affisso campioni italiani,
internazionali, sociali, svizzeri, tedeschi, ungheresi, austriaci, sloveni, americani e mondiali.
I started to show on December 18th,. 1985, at Genova International Show. I breed under my
“Kiltown Abbey” kennel name, I’m judge of my breed Greyhound since 2007 and actually I’m
approved to judge the whole tenth FCI group. I bred under my affix several Italian, International, Club, Swiss, German, Magyar, Austrian, Slovenian, American and World champions.

Ho vissuto con i cani fin da quando sono nato. La mia famiglia aveva alaskan malamute da
sleddog e pastori tedeschi per ricerca e soccorso. nostro vicino di casa aveva due afgani
maschi, padre e figlio, e li amavamo come se fossero stati nostri. Da giovane ho addestrato e
lavorato con i pastori tedeschi da ricerca, soccorso e lavoro. Sono sempre stato interessato
per la disposizione naturale dei cani, i loro istinti ed i diversi modi di essere, e i levrieri sono
sempre stati vicini al mio cuore per la loro consapevolezza, estrema abilità e attitudine. La
mia prima afgana è giunta in casa 20 anni fa, e poco dopo arrivò anche un suo fratello di cucciolata. Furono addestrati per l’esposizioni, per l’obedience e l’agility ed abbiamo avuto con
loro molti momenti fantastici. Abbiamo iniziato ad allevare afgani 8 anni fa e da allora abbiamo avuto 3 cucciolate vivaci e sane. Sono stato iniziato al coursing nei primi anni ’90, quando
incontrai un istruttore californiano che condivise con me un sacco di belle esperienze di prove
di coursing negli Stati Uniti. Lui aveva posseduto whippet, saluki ed afgani. Il mio interesse
per il coursing si è intensificato nel 1997 grazie alla forte influenza esercitata da altri appassionati di levrieri, che avevano partecipato ad una manifestazione di coursing in Olanda. All’epoca ero Presidente del Club del Levriero Norvegese ed ero interessato a sviluppare nuove
attività per i levrieri nel mio paese. Da quel momento il coursing in Norvegia è cresciuto molto
e un numero sempre maggiore di appassionati si è accorto di quanto questa attività sia divertente e stimolante per i loro levrieri. Sono stato abilitato a giudicare i coursing dal Kennel Club
Norvegese nel 2006 e da allora sono stato molto attivo a livello nazionale ed internazionale, in
giro per l’Europa. Al momento vivono nella nostra casa degli afgani e un barbone nano che
approfitta di tutte le occasioni per divertirsi cacciando. Io amo mettere alla prova i cani quando
corrono e puoi vedere e sentire che questo è il loro ”momento di vita”.
Sono onorato che mi sia stato chiesto di giudicare il prestigioso appuntamento di Manerba del
Garda in Italia e non vedo l’ora di farlo.
I have been living with dogs since i was born. My family had Alaskan Malamutes for dogsledging, and German Shepherds for search and rescue. Our neighbour had two Afghan hound
males, father and son, and we loved them as they where our own. In younger years i trained
and worked with German Shepherds for use as search and rescue, and working. I have always been interested in the natural way of dogs, their instincts and ways of being, and sighthounds have always been close to my heart due to their awareness, extreme skills and attitude. My first afghan entered the house 20 years ago, and soon after a litter brother of her
found his way to us. They where trained for showing, obedience and agility and we had lot of
fantastic moments. We started breeding afghans since 8 year back, and have had 3 active
and healthy litters. I was really introduced to lure coursing in the early 90`when i met a canine
instructor form California, and he shared a lot of fun experience with me from coursing events
in the United States. He also owned Whippets, Salukis and Afghans. My interest for lure
coursing was sharpened in 1997 due to heavy influence from other sighthound people which
had been to a coursing event in the Netherland. At that moment i was president of the Norwegian Sighthound Club and wanted to develop new activities for the sighthounds in Norway.
Since then lure coursing have been growing in Norway and more and more “dog people” see
the fun and challenge for their sighthounds in lure coursing. I was approved lure coursing
judge by the Norwegian Kennel Klubb in 2006, and has been active judging since then, national and international around in Europe. Currently is Afghans an a toy Pudel living in our
house and uses all possibilities to enjoy a hunt. I just love to experience dogs when they
course and you can see and feel that they have the time of their life.
I am honored to have been asked to judge at the prestigious coursing
event Manerba del Garda in Italy and looking forward to this assignment.
LEANDRO LEANDRI (I)
Appassionato delle razze levriere da tutta la vita, sono allevatore di
Borzoi con affisso “della Matildele”. Dopo aver contribuito per molti anni
quale Consigliere, sono stato nominato Presidente del Club del Levriero nel 97, e riconfermato
nella carica per altri 4 mandati. Fin dalla regolamentazione delle discipline sportive per levrieri
in Italia (1996) sono stato abilitato quale Giudice di Corse e Coursing, ruolo nel quale ho acquisito ampia esperienza a livello internazionale. Attualmente, e fin dal 2005, sono componente di nomina ENCI della Commissione Levrieri presso l’FCI. Sono Presidente del Gruppo Cinofilo Serenissima (Venezia).
Sighthound breeds fancier for a very long time, I breed Borzois under affix “della Matildele”.
Having contributed for many years as board member, I was later (on 1997) elected as President of Club del Levriero (Sighthounds Club of Italy) and confirmed in the position for another
4 orders. Since the regulation in Italy of the Sighthounds sporting activities (1966) I was qualified as Racing and Coursing judge; playing this role I have gained experience at international
level. Currently, and since 2005, I’m a member of the FCI Sightounds Committee. I’m President of Serenissima Kennel Club (Venice).
