Restored, it houses a Study and Research Centre of the Park and is the heart of our voluntary activities. If you want to do a work camp in the Park, contributing to the maintenance of the pathways and to cutting the grass in the fields, assisting tourists at the visitor centres, working side by side with the Park staff in its daily activity, if you want to enjoy working surrounded by the wild nature of one of the most beautiful Italian National Parks... Agre is the right place for you. info: +39 0439 3328 - [email protected] Living the Park together: “al Frassen” house In the Canzoi Valley, in the heart of the Park, at the beginning of the pathways that lead to two of the most extraordinary places of the Belluno Dolomites: the Erera Plateau and the Cimonega Basin, you find the “al Frassen” house. An old rural house, restructured adopting the best operational techniques of renewable sources, it has become a welcoming accommodation house with 22 beds, bathrooms, a fullyequipped kitchen, a large dining room with a fireplace and an education room. Surrounded by fields and woods, within a stone’s throw from Lake Stua, it is the ideal place for a family vacation, residential activities for environmental education, green weeks for parish groups, scouts, associations and schools. A single bed, a room or the whole structure can be booked. You can camp in the big field in front of it on authorization. The house is open from April to October. Living the Park quietly: refreshment and camper areas In the Park, there are several small areas equipped for picnics, and three major refreshment areas with tables, barbecues, information points and a shop with local products. The Imperina Hostel can offer you one. It has in fact been made inside an antique mining village of the Imperina Valley, an extraordinary testimony of industrial archaeology. These mines supplied the Republic of Venice for centuries with the copper required for the arsenal and the mint. The mine infrastructures can be seen in the area (closed In 1962, after more than 5 centuries of use, devastated by the 1966 flood and today restored): streets, galleries, stables and the antique smelting furnaces, dating back to XVI century. The hostel is located at the crossway of two thematic itineraries: “The Route of the Pilgrim Hospices” and “The Forgotten Mountain”; more than 50 kilometres of paths which you can journey on foot to rediscover the antique history of these mountains. The hostel has 37 beds, in 4 and 6-bed rooms, a TV room, a reading and wi-fi internet room. It is open from April to October, and for the Christmas holiday period. Imperina Restaurant The former mines of Imperina Valley also house the Park Restaurant. The menu offers dishes made of products from local farms, which are titled with the Quality Card of the National Park of the Dolomites of Belluno brand. They are farms of the 15 Townships of the Park, engaged in conserving quality traditional productions, obtained by respecting the environment: biological, natural and typical products. It is open from April to October, during the Christmas holiday period, or on reservation for private parties with dancing and balls. We are waiting for you, to try the tastes of the Dolomite mountains! They are open in the summer, generally from June to September (for opening times in other periods directly contact the keeper) and they all are equipped with an unguarded winter encampment. Its encampments at high altitudes allow “living the Park” in direct contact with nature. There are also unguarded encampments taken care of by the CAI (Italian Alpine Club) or by other volunteer associations. The visitor centres and the Park offices provide detailed information on opening times of the encampments and how to access to them.
