WHAT IS AN EMAIL ALIAS Aliases do show you’re your REAL email address, but you receive it in your inbox. Therefore, on a public site NO ONE can grab your personal data, copy it, sell it to others, and you have LESS spam and junk mail. This is why we used aliases for all email on this site. Aliases Date: Tue, 18 Feb 2014 09:01:12 -­‐0500 Stefania, An alias does not store email, it is immediately forwarded to another email account (or multiple email accounts). Those accounts however, are stored on a server someplace until the message is downloaded. You are correct in that replies will come from the senders account. Take the email I'm typing right now, you originally emailed it to [email protected] but I am replying from my email account. We are a PTA association and are trying to set up a website and have all executive members use an alias -­‐ easier for parents to contact us, and it looks more professional. However some parents are concerned that by using an alias someone can pry into these emails. Is this the case? Are alias emails stored on some server or just simply redirected to your personal email account? I also noticed that when replying to an email received through the alias I respond from my email account. Tali account però , sono memorizzate su un server dal qualche parte fino a quando il messaggio viene scaricato sul server di destinazione. È giusto quando dici che le risposte vengono dal vostro account personale. Prendi l'e-­‐mail che sto scrivendo in questo momento , è stato originariamente inviato via email a [email protected] ma sto rispondendo dal mio account di posta elettronica .
