ACCOMODATION For the three days the accomodation is organised at the San Sebastiano da Po castle. The cost (for bed and breakfast) will be 25 euro for a double room with an ensuite bathroom and 20 euro for a double room with a joint bathroom and 15 euro for a room with a communal bathroom. A contribution of 5 euro is expected from those camping in tents, which includes breakfast and use of services. Those sleeping in the rooms should bring a sleeping bag and a mattress or other suitable bedding. (www.castellosansebastiano.it) The meals will cost 5 euro each (except for the lunch held on the Friday which will be free and the dinner, again on Friday, will cost 12 euro ) and will be made from local, seasonal products to give the maximum quality and a good price. We ask all those participating to come with a spirit of flexibility and collaboration for the management of the meeting. TRANSPORT The participants can arrive either on Thursday afternoon (for whoever is coming from far away and participating in all three days) or Friday. Buses will be organised from Chivasso train station (which is easily reached- trains every hour- from both Turin and Milan) to the castle. The buses will run again on Sunday afternoon to take the participants back to Chivasso station. We ask all participants to confirm their expected time of arrival and departure in order to organise transport to and from the castle. The second and third days, Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd, will be dedicated to the reflection on the post development and those specific themes that we consider to be particularly important for current times and on which we want to be actively engaged. We would also like that the time spent together in such a pleasant environment will create the opportunity for a continual exchange of ideas between the participants and to build relations which we believe are fundamental for our vision. The afternoon will be reserved for group work to consider a series of thesis. The themes suggested are: • agriculture and alimentation • decrease in material and energy consumption • increase in consumption in Asian countries: anteroom of the unsustainability • degrowth and current affairs: work, banlieues, large infrastructure and territory • practical alternatives: from individual choices to political decisions • constitution and reinforcement of the international network for post-development. All participants are invited to express their opinion on these proposals. On Sunday morning will be evaluated the points arisen on Saturday and to reflect on which strengths and ideas can be used to begin an incisive action of international relations between the networks of postdevelopment.
