Work
• Professor of Sociology of Professions at the faculty of Social Sciences at La Sapienza University, Rome
• He was dean of Communication Sciences faculty of La Sapienza University of Rome, where he has also
taught Sociology of work.
• Founder and scientific director of S3Studium Srl, focused on organizational consulting services, research,
training and communication.
• Member of Siena’s ethical committee Biotech and of the scientific committee of Fondazione Veronesi.
• He was manager and Managing Director at Finsider, Ifap-Centro IRI to study managerial business
functions.
• He was chairman of In/Arch Istituto Nazionale Architettura, president of AIF Associazione Italiana
Formatori; founder and president of SIT Società Italiana per il Telelavoro; president of Fondazione Ravello.
• He is dedicated to university teaching, training and social-organizational research.

• Urban and development sociology such as La negazione urbana (1971), Sociology of work and
organization such as Sociologia dell’azienda (1973); I lavoratori nell’industria italiana (1974) ; Il lavoratore
post-industriale (1985); Trattato di sociologia del lavoro e dell’organizzazione (1985-87); Sviluppo senza
lavoro (1994); Il futuro del lavoro (1999).
• Sociology of macro-systems, amongst which L’avvento post-industriale (1985) L’ozio creativo (2000); Non
c’è progresso senza felicità (2005). Sociology of creative processes, amongst which La fantasia e la
concretezza (2003); L’emozione e la regola. I gruppi creativi in Europa dal 1850 al 1950 (1990 and 2005);
