Mario Notari proposed as new Director
Milan, 11 December 2015 – The Board of Directors which met today chaired by Maurizio Costa agreed
to the idea to integrate the Board's composition by indicating a candidate that can further increase the
expertise that is already present.
The Board, in part based on a proposal from the Appointments Committee, discussed the need to identify
a profile with a solid professional background with in-depth knowledge of law and economics and an
adequate level of independence, in order to improve internal dialogue and efficient operation of the Board
and Committees.
The Board, after a positive assessment of these requirements, approved submitting the name of Mario
Notari as new Company Director for the Shareholders' Meeting to vote on in its 16 December meeting.
Founder and partner of the “Zabban – Notari - Rampolla & Associati” firm, where he works as a notary
and legal advisor for industrial groups, listed companies and financial institutions, Mario Notari is a Full
Professor of Business Law at the University of Bocconi and faculty member for the Business Law Ph.D.
program at the same university. He is also the coordinator of the "Company Commission" of the Milan
Board of Notaries.
Author of monographs, manuals, commentaries and numerous essays in leading Italian and international
journals, Mario Notari is a member of the steering committee of the “Osservatorio del diritto civile e
commerciale” (Il Mulino), “Contratto e impresa” (Cedam), as well as the editorial committee and/or
scientific committee of: Rivista delle società (Giuffré), Rivista del diritto commerciale (Vallardi), Rivista
dei dottori commercialisti (Giuffré) and “Strumenti finanziari e fiscalità” (Egea). He is a member and
consultant for various institutional and academic bodies.
He has been a member of administration and control bodies of listed and unlisted companies, including:
Camfin S.p.A., Man Invest SGR S.p.A., Kairos Partners SGR S.p.A., Kairos Julius Baer SIM S.p.A.,
Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A, and Luxottica Group S.p.A.
