In particular, Dr. Mantovani’s research has been characterized by a strong interdisciplinary nature, covering the following research topics : 1) the relationships between emotions and new technologies (affective computing); 2) multimodal expression and recognition processes of emotions; 3) the use of Serious Games and interactive simulations for the training of emotional skills; 4) the cognitive and emotional factors related to the use of Virtual Reality technologies as tools for basic and applied (clinical, educational) research, with a specific focus on the analysis of the concept of “presence”.
