easyJet and Gesac announce new domestic service from Naples Capodichino Airport As of June, easyJet to provide service between Naples and Venice Naples, 12 March 2009 – easyJet, Europe’s leading low-cost airline, is launching new domestic service from Naples airport. As of June, there will be two flights a day from Naples airport to Marco Polo airport in Venice with one-way rates starting as low as € 23.99, including taxes. Italy is proving to be a fundamental market for easyJet, as the company continues to enhance its range of domestic destinations, an initiative which has gained the approval of Italian consumers. Currently, easyJet operates thirteen domestic routes and intends to further expand its network in our country. “With the launch of this new domestic route from Capodichino airport, easyJet continues to demonstrate a strong interest in the Naples area” stated François Bacchetta, easyJet Regional General Manager for Southern Europe “during the first seven months of activity, easyJet expects to carry more than 80,000 passengers on the Naples-Venice route. With the launch of this new route, easyJet now provides service to nine destinations from Naples and we are confident that there will be an increase in the near future”. Marco Consalvo, Gesac General Manager, Naples airport management company: “We are extremely satisfied with the first lowcost flight to Venice. EasyJet’s continuously increasing investment in our airport is bringing forth excellent results. In this very difficult moment for the air transport sector, we trust that this new Naples-Venice flight will provide stimulus for growth in domestic traffic which has recorded an alarming negative trend recently”.
