Voice: Alan Bedin Double-bass: Marco Penzo Piano: Emmanuele Gardin Musics: Il Magnetofono Lyrics: Alan Bedin Magnetofono wants to be a homage to both music and voices. An attentive research for songs in italian in order to realize a little Dada universe, a sort of microcosm where the three musicians share the same passion since 2011 and cherish every moment of the over 170 concerts (and counting). Their goal is to add a visual representation of different situations and emotions to their music; this is the reason why the recording of this new album was developed in direct drive with the active participation of other musicians. The arrangement has been improved through real “noises” and sounds which are part of the ambient that surrounds the band during the creation of both music and lyrics. Therefore music attend upon lyrics and vice versa – on composition, arrangements up to the omnium gatherum that create performances, plays and readings of artists like Pierpaolo Capovilla (Il Teatro degli Orrori, One Dimensional Man, Majakovskij: Eresia), Freak Antoni (Skiantos, Ironikotemporaneo), Vincenzo Vasi (Braccio elettrico, Vinicio Capossela, Mike Patton). The project integrates music with theatre, opening a whole new world adapting the representation to various locations – from clubs to theatres and cultural associations. The peak on representation comes from the participation of the “fourth element”, the illustrator Osvaldo Casanova which realized the cover of the new CD and a painting for each track, combining figurative art and music the way Magnetofono meant it “This album wants to give back to the audience both the importance of italian songwriting and the magic of live recording carefully avoiding the aid of massive digital post production, giving room to ambient, musicians and real sounds as well. Words of love, insanity, happiness and sadness, irony, willing to change through “revolution” toward the contemporary world. (…) Our first LP is realized in the most authentic way, in order to value each note and word. This was in our DNA already, we just had to bring it to life”.
