M1-Don Pennell: Benvenuti a La verità nella Crisi. Il mio nome è Don Pennell. Qualche anno fa
abbiamo deciso di intraprendere la difficile produzione di un documentario di un’ora sulle apparizioni di
Fatima. Questo documentario, che si intitola L'unica chiave per ottenere la pace nel mondo, esamina le
tristi condizioni in cui versano oggigiorno l’umanità ed il mondo, ed il modo in cui il Santo Padre può
cambiarle per il meglio, grazie ad una semplice cerimonia fatta in comunione con tutti i Vescovi del
Mondo.
Oggi vi mostreremo la prima parte di quel documentario; nelle prossime settimane manderemo in onda
le altre 3. Alla fine di ciascuna parte del documentario, avremo modo di ascoltare gli interventi di Padre
Nicholas Gruner. Ma ora vi lascio al documentario L’unica Chiave per ottenere la pace nel mondo.

M2-Narrator: We live in a world filled with conflict down through our history; nations have used
conflict as a means to an end. Men have fought for right, for wrong, for religion, for borders and even
for nothing at all. Every culture on Earth has been forged in a conflict over territory or ideals. In 6,000
years of recorded history, there have been more than 14,000 wars and those are just the ones we know
about, leaving countless millions of innocents maimed or homeless and many millions more killed. We
have spent billions, even trillions of dollars building and designing for war and the specter of war still
looms over us.
We have celebrated the ends of wars and we have honored our war heroes, but the threat of conflict
always returns. Our history is filled with seemingly innocent looking men who preach lofty ideals and
hide a true face of death and evil intentions. Still, we have learned so little while acquiring so much
knowledge, we have developed ways not only to kill our enemies, but to destroy ourselves and our
world forever.
The horror of combat has been replaced by mass murder from a very disconnected distance. Russia
loomed in our fears for so long, and then slowly faded into an almost romantic view of its terrifying
history that gave birth to violent conflicts all over the world. Vietnam, Korea, China and Europe all felt
the sting of evil that seemed to have no end. Yet, in the sea of a habitual war mongering, still a cry for
peace went up. Today, protests continue everywhere, yet even those peaceful protests have the
appearance of conflict. Is civilization destined to extinguish itself in the darkness of our mindless primal
lust for violence? Surviving ourselves doesn’t even seem possible. Yet in the middle of this sea of
endless conflict, there is a cry for peace from the same species that constantly wages war against itself.
Can we have peace or have we had the key to peace and lost it? Was there anything that could have

saved us from all of this killing and destruction? An event that could save our world, not only now, but
in the future.

M3: During World War I, in the little village of Fatima Portugal in 1917, mere weeks before the
Bolshevik Revolution took place in the far off country of Russia. Three young children had an
experience that was to have global significance and consequence. These three Portuguese shepherd
children were visited by an apparition of a woman in glowing white on May 13, 1917 while tending
their sheep in a cova near the village of Fatima. Lucia dos Santos and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco
Marto, age 10, 8 and 7, were told by the lady that they would be given a message of great importance to
the world that would have great significance for the 20th century and beyond. She told them to come
and meet with her with the same location on the 13th of every month until October, when she would
perform a great miracle.
Honoring her request, the children came in June and again in July when they were accompanied by six
thousand pilgrims. The local priest in Fatima, questioning the authenticity of the children’s visions,
believed it was more likely a deception of the devil than a true apparition of what the children had
determined was the Blessed Virgin Mary. Some of the people of the village shared the ideas of the
priest and the children were told to remain silent. In August, the three children were kidnapped by
Oliviara, the Mayor of nearby Ourem. They were interrogated in hopes that they would recant what
they believed what they had seen. After being threatened with death, they stood firm in their story and
were released from custody on August 15th, having missed their appointment with the Virgin.
M2: The question we need to ask ourselves is if the story of these three children is credible.
M4-John Vennari: You have the credibility of the seers themselves, the three little children. Lucia,
Francisco and Jacinta. On July 13th, Our Lady showed the children a vision of hell, but also on July
13th, they were given a secret that they were not allowed to reveal. A month later on August 13th, they
were literally arrested, more like kidnapped.
FRG: The administrator of the town of Ourem, which is a big town near Fatima at the time. He insisted
that the three children come down to him for interrogation on the 11th or 12th of August. Now the two
children, the two youngest didn’t go because their father said, "They’re too small, because they would
fall off the donkey." Well, Lucia went there, she fell off the donkey three times. He got there and he
insisted on her telling the secret and her denying that she was seeing this apparition, Our Lady at Fatima.
She would not do what he wanted. He threatened her with death even then, but on the 13th, the morning
of the 13th, when the big crowd was there with 15,000 people, the administrator came to Aljustral, the
little town where they lived near Fatima and he said, "I’ve changed my mind. I’m convinced; I want to
be part of the apparitions." So, he went there, to the home of Jacinta and Francisco and had them join
him in his car. He first went to the parish priest’s house and then from there instead of driving to the site
of the apparitions, he drove off in the direction of Ourem. He kidnapped them under a pretext, under
false pretenses and he kept them in jail. First he brought them to his home, then he kept them in jail for
two days and he offered them money, he offered them candies if they would just cooperate. They would
not deny seeing Our Lady. They would not tell the secret.
M4-John Vennari: They were threatened with death. They were threatened with death. If you do not
tell me the secret, you will be boiled in oil. Jacinta was 7 years old. They said, "Okay, we’ll start with
you, you’re the youngest, you get boiled first or else you reveal the secret or you’re boiled in oil." She

said, "No." You don’t do that for a lie. Same thing with Francisco, the little boy. "Tell us the secret or
you’ll be boiled in oil." "I cannot tell the secret, I told the lady I would not." Little boys don’t act like
that when they’re lying. You threaten a little boy with a spanking and it comes out, let alone being
boiled in oil. Lucy was left; her two cousins as far as she was concerned, were dead. Not only dead, but
killed in a horrible way. "Reveal the secret or else," and although she didn’t say this, but her response
basically was, "You just have to kill me with my cousins, because I can not reveal the secret." You
don’t do that for a lie.
M2: In September, the children again honored their responsibility to the lady and they were
accompanied this time by 30,000 pilgrims with a great miracle promised for the month of October. The
three children were accompanied by 70,000 witnesses to see the event that would later be known as the
miracle of the Sun. This spectacular event was witnessed and reported by various members of the
secular press. Leaving international credence and recognition to the three children and to the message
that they had received. The message was that the entire world would experience peace if the rosary
were prayed every day and if Russia were consecrated by the Pope and all his Bishops to the immaculate
heart of Mary.
M4-JV: At the appointed hour, Lucy said, "Look at the sun," and the sun literally spun off colors,
danced in the sky and then came plummeting toward the Earth. 70,000 people saw that.
M5-Chris F.: 70,000 people had assembled to see this miracle, which had been predicted three months
in advance, and at that time, not only believers but secular news journalists, communists, Atheists,
scientists who were on the scene, saw these incredible things happening with the sun. The sun rotated in
the sky and threw off colors, spun around in the sky and finally it descended to earth and terrified the
entire crowd.
M6-Gerry Matatics: So, clearly this is a public event. God is getting the attention of the world and for
the Church to say, "Well, because this isn’t part of the deposit of faith, therefore you can take it or leave
it," is absurd.
M7-Rev. Gregory Hesse: If there wasn’t that smashing, impossible miracle back then, I probably
wouldn’t believe the message at all, but you cannot deny a complete breech of the laws of nature and
that is never done by anybody, but God himself to confirm some other thing.
M4-JV: There was raining cats and dogs, and they had been in the field all night for the apparition the
next day. They were soaked to the bone. Immediately after the miracle of the sun the ground was dry
and all their clothes were dry as if Our Lady as a mother, cleaning up her children before she sends them
away.
M7-Rev. Gregory Hesse: The amount of energy needed to dry out that high altitude sort of grassland
and 70,000 people with it and the ankle deep mud with it, that’s an amount of energy that would have
incinerated everybody present. Once I realized that that had happened, I said, "Okay, it must be
authentic." No devil can work that kind of miracle because that’s a deep interference with the laws of
nature.
M2: When God works a miracle, we have the absolute certitude that the message comes from God.
Considering that heaven went through this great effort, to gain the world’s attention, what was it that our
Lady of Fatima was requiring of mankind?

M8-Robert Sungenis: It was said; that by Mary to Sister Lucia that the consecration of Russia had to
be performed.
M2: Consecration: A ceremony to dedicate a person, place or thing for a holy purpose.
M8-Robert Sungenis: Mary came to sister Lucia and said, "Now is the time for Russia to be
consecrated and if it is consecrated, there will be peace in the world as the nation of Russia is
converted," and it was, there was also a warning which said, "If you don’t do this, if you don’t
consecrate Russia then the first World War that had ended is going to create another war, World War II
and there is going to be Russia spreading her errors throughout the world," and this is exactly what
happened from 1929 through the rest of the 20th century.
M5-Chris F: So, Russia is seen as the focus of a crisis in the world and the apparitions at Fatima were
literally weeks before the Bolshevik Revolution, at a time when no one could have possibly have known
what this phrase "Russia’s errors" would mean.
M7-Rev. Gregory Hesse: She gave very simple and clear instruction, I cannot possibly understand how
it would ever be a problem for a Pope. She said, "The Holy Father must consecrate Russia to my
immaculate heart together with the bishops of the world."
M6-Gerry M.: And even though it seems in and of itself like an insignificant thing, in the eyes of the
world in terms of geo-political clout what can a bunch of Bishops all praying a prayer together do to
cause tyrannies to topple and empires to collapse? But that is what God does. He chooses the weak, the
lowly, the insignificant things of this world to bring about this enormous effect and that’s what would
have happened and what will happen, when the consecration is finally done by the grace of God.
M2: Do the Holy Scriptures support this idea of forewarning mankind of impending disasters?
M6-Gerry M.: In the bible God is always sending prophets when his people begin to get off the straight
and narrow path that God has laid out for them, and the purpose of a prophet is to call you back, to get
you back on track, and God sends many prophets throughout the bible, but with the Old and New
Testaments, the quintessential prophet is the prophet Elijah, or Elias as he’s called in the Douay-Rheims
Bible, and he is called to by God, to warn the people of Israel that if they do not turn back to the laws of
Moses, that God will strike them with confusion and chaos and just falling apart, this internal decay and
collapse and the Old Testament ends on that very note.
M9-Rabbi Mayer Schiller: Through out the Old Testament, there are instances when the people of
Israel would fail in their ritual or symbolic obligations, and the result of that was the fact that the Jewish
people were exiled twice. The temple was destroyed. The Old Testament tells us that the failure to
obey God’s will in the end has to result in national or even international disaster.
M6-Gerry M.: There is absolutely zero possibility of true and lasting world peace apart from this
demand being obeyed exactly according to God’s strict letter. God is very clear about in the bible, when
he gives a covenant, when he gives a command, he wants it obeyed in just that way and he will not let us
substitute. When God said to the old people, his people in the Old Testament, "You must bring such and
such a lamb to me. It’s got to be a lamb without blemish." If someone said, "Well, I will, you know,
it’s too hard for me to get that, it’s too inconvenient, but how about this instead?" You can’t bargain
with God. You can’t say, "Instead of this can, I do this?" You can’t have some sort of spiritual swap
meet with God and try to dicker him down to your terms and so unless we do exactly what God has

requested. No, there’s no possibility of this at all. There must be submission to the Queen Mother in
order for there to be submission to her son. Again, we honor Mary, we honor Jesus, it’s a package deal.

M5-Chris Ferrara: Salve, sono Chris Ferrara e oggi come ospiti abbiamo Padre Nicholas Gruner e
John Vennari. Tutti e tre siamo intervenuti nella parte del documentario che è appena andata in onda, e
siamo qui oggi per commentarne gli elementi più importanti. Il Messaggio di Fatima in genere non è
conosciuto dalla maggior parte delle persone, e per chi non è cattolico o non conosce la storia delle
vicende di Fatima, tutto questo potrebbe sembrare alquanto assurdo. Parliamone.
Voglio dire, la vicenda riguarda un'apparizione della Madonna a tre pastorelli, avvenuta nel lontano
1917, durante la quale confidò loro un soluzione per ottenere la pace nel mondo, e cioè una semplice
cerimonia, la Consacrazione della Russia al Cuore Immacolato di Maria, compiuta dal Papa insieme ai
vescovi. Perché questa cerimonia dovrebbe portare la pace? Non penso che una persona qualsiasi, a
meno che non conosca la vicenda, sia portato a credere a tutto questo. Perché dovrebbe, in effetti?
FRG: Per prima cosa va notato che nel corso dei secoli, in tanti hanno affermato d’aver ricevuto
messaggi del Signore, ma nessuno di questi ha mai potuto compiere un miracolo come quello del sole.
Non esiste altro messaggio divino che abbia ricevuto un'autenticazione così forte da parte di Dio ,come
il Messaggio di Fatima:Il miracolo del sole avvenne dinanzi a 70.000 persone e testimonia che questo
messaggio proviene realmente da Dio.
Persino un protestante può rendersene conto, da un punto di vista non Cattolico del Vangelo. Dio
incarnato!
M4-JV: Nel Vangelo di Marco, Gesù dice al paralitico: “I tuoi peccati ti sono rimessi” e tutti si
scandalizzano; allora Gesù dice alla folla: "Che cos'è più facile: dire al paralitico: Ti sono rimessi i
peccati, o dire: Alzati, prendi il tuo lettuccio e cammina?” Concludendo, egli afferma: “Perché voi

sappiate che il Figlio dell’uomo ha sulla terra il potere di rimettere i peccati, io dico a te: Alzati, prendi il
tuo lettuccio e vattene a casa,” e così avvenne!
M5-Chris Ferrara: Quindi, Nostro Signore…?
M4-JV: Sì, fece una cosa che solamente Dio avrebbe potuto fare, lo fece per dimostrare il suo potere
Divino.
FRG: In quello stesso passo c’erano questi scribi, questi Farisei che stavano pensando: "Chi è
quest'uomo? Come mai costui parla così? Egli bestemmia!" Vi furono ovviamente delle persone che
avevano visto Gesù compiere dei miracoli prima d’allora, e già credevano in Lui; ma il fatto è che per
coloro che ancora non credevano, Gesù compì quel miracolo. Lo stesso San Paolo, nel capitolo quinto
della prima lettera ai Tessalonicesi, afferma: “Non spegnete lo spirito” ”Non disprezzate le profezie,
tutto esaminate, ritenete il bene”. Abbiamo in questo caso una profezia, ma come facciamo a sapere se
proviene veramente da Dio? Ebbene, l’abbiamo esaminata, abbiamo visto che Dio l’ha autenticata
compiendo un miracolo e lo testimoniano i libri del Signore…
M5-Chris F: Ma questo miracolo del sole, è veramente avvenuto? Noi tre abbiamo partecipato alle
riprese del documentario, durante il quale vengono mostrate le foto di un evento che dovrebbe essere
accaduto realmente. Ma è davvero così? C’è stato veramente un miracolo del sole?
M4-JV: Assolutamente sì: ben 70.000 persone hanno assistito al miracolo del sole, e tra questi anche la
stampa anticlericale, i giornalisti laici e mangiapreti di Lisbona. Erano andati a Fatima per farsi beffe di
tutti questi Cattolici creduloni, proprio perché quel miracolo era stato predetto in anticipo, e loro erano
sicuri che non si sarebbe mai avverato.
M5-Chris F.: Era stato predetto. È tutto qui il punto, giusto?
M4-JV: Esatto, era stato predetto in anticipo, la Madonna aveva detto che il miracolo sarebbe avvenuto
il 13 ottobre 1917. La stampa si mischiò ai 70.000 presenti, quel giorno, per farsi gioco dei fedeli e
riportare gli eventi che sarebbero accaduti. Essi dovettero constatare che quel giorno il sole danzò in
cielo, vorticando e sprigionando colori. La gente gridava “Miracolo! Miracolo! Miracolo!”.
M5-Chris Ferrara: A quel punto il sole scese in picchiata verso la terra, giusto?
M4-JV: Sì, esatto. Persino i nemici più acerrimi della Chiesa dovettero testimoniare che quel miracolo
avvenne veramente.
M5-Chris F: Padre Gruner, esiste un altro precedente nella bibbia di un miracolo avvenuto esattamente
nel giorno in cui era stato predetto? Non so, un profeta che abbia affermato "venite in questo luogo il
prossimo sabato a mezzogiorno e vi sarà un miracolo?"
FRG: Beh, abbiamo la notizia della venuta di Nostro Signore, che venne profetizzata centinaia di anni
prima della sua nascita.
M5-Chris F: Sì, ma non è del tutto straordinario, intendo questo miracolo in particolare? Non si può
affermare con sicurezza che si tratta di un miracolo senza precedenti, dal momento che è stato predetto
con mesi in anticipo e con precisione assoluta?

FRG: Sì, ma non solo per il fatto d’esser stato predetto con precisione, ma anche per la sua entità, per la
grandezza del miracolo in sé: non v’era mai stato prima d’allora un miracolo compiutosi dinanzi a
70.000 persone. Direi che si tratta del più grande miracolo dai tempi della Resurrezione. Dio ha
compiuto questo miracolo per farci credere. Il problema è che la gente non ha creduto, non abbastanza
almeno.
M4-JV: Il Signore, per mezzo della Madonna di Fatima voglio dire, quel 13 luglio disse chiaramente:
“compirò un miracolo il 13 ottobre, affinché tutti credano.” Nell'agosto successivo disse: “Compirò un
miracolo a ottobre, affinché tutti credano." Ancora una volta, il 13 settembre, la Madonna ripeté la stessa
cosa: "Compirò un miracolo il 13 ottobre." Le parole della Madonna sono una vera a propria profezia,
che poi si compie come predetto. Non è quindi solo il miracolo in sé e per sé ad essere eccezionale, lo
sono anche la profezia ed il suo compimento. Proprio il modo in cui opera il Signore!
FRG: Penso alle parole di Nostro Signore dinanzi alla città di Cafarnao: "E tu, Cafarnao, sarai innalzata
fino al cielo? Fino agli inferi sarai precipitata!" Perché? Perché se i segni e i miracoli avvenuti ad
esempio a Sodoma e Gomorra, fossero stati compresi e accettati, i loro abitanti si sarebbero messi a fare
penitenza sino ai giorni nostri!
Dio ha quindi compiuto un miracolo, e a questo punto tutti noi abbiamo un obbligo. Non tutti gli abitanti
di Cafarnao avevano visto i suoi miracoli, ma tutti conoscevano almeno una persona che li aveva visti, e
avevano avuto quindi modo di ascoltare la loro testimonianza. Tuttava Cafarnao oggi non esiste più,
perché la città fu distrutta, proprio come aveva predetto Nostro Signore. Perché? Perché gli abitanti di
Cafarnao non avevano creduto in Gesù e nei suoi miracoli.
M5-Chris F: Ecco cosa conduce le persone al peccato: costoro avevano le prove dirette di un miracolo,
la prova stessa della divinità di Gesù, e malgrado ciò continuarono a rifiutarsi di credere. Ma per tornare
alla nostra domanda, va bene c’è stato un miracolo, quindi è accaduto un evento straordinario, e ogni
persona ragionevole, persino un ateo, ha potuto vederlo compiersi nell’ora e nel giorno previsti. Ma che
dire della Consacrazione della Russia? Quali sono i motivi per chiedere una così semplice cerimonia,
che non costerebbe al Papa e ai Vescovi più di 5 minuti del loro tempo? Perché dovrebbe portare la pace
nel mondo? Si è mai vista una cosa simile nell'Antico Testamento?
FRG: C’è l’esempio di Naaman, il lebbroso. Si trova nel secondo libro dei Re, capitolo 5. Naaman, che
aveva la lebbra, decise di recarsi dal Re d’Israele e di chiedergli di curargli la malattia. Il Re d'Israele, il
quale pensava che Naaman, in quanto Siriano, stesse solo cercando un pretesto per una guerra, si
stracciò le vesti e gli disse: “Sono forse Dio che posso curare la lebbra?” Il profeta d’Israele, tuttavia,
sentito che il re si era stracciato le vesti gli mandò a dire: “Mandate Naaman da me, e saprà che c’è un
profeta in Israele." Naaman però si rifiutò di entrare in casa del profeta, e decise di mandare un
messaggero al suo posto. Questo ritornò con le parole del profeta: “Se vuoi curarti, Naaman, va e
immergiti sette volte nel fiume Giordano.”
M5-Chris F: Sette volte?
FRG: Esattamente.
M5-Chris F: Non tre… ? O cinque…?

FRG: No, no, esattamente sette volte. Ora, all’inizio Naaman si arrabbiò e rispose: “Abbiamo fiumi
migliori del Giordano, in Siria. Perché dovrei immergermi in questo misero, piccolo fiume?” I suoi
servitori tuttavia lo fecero ragionare: “Se il profeta ti avesse ingiunto una cosa gravosa, non l’avresti
forse eseguita? Tanto più ora che ti ha detto 'bagnati e sarai guarito’”. In parole povere, che ti costa
provare? Allora Naaman si recò al fiume Giordano e vi si immerse per sette volte, e come dicono le
scritture ne uscì guarito dalla lebbra. Se Dio ci ha chiesto una piccola cosa, quel che vuole da noi non è
tanto l’atto in sé, bensì l'umiltà, l'obbedienza e la fede richiesti per compierlo.
M5-Chris F: Sì, penso che uno degli intervistati nella parte del documentario che abbiamo appena visto
abbia riassunto il tutto con una frase molto azzeccata: “Non puoi scendere a patti con Dio!”
FRG: Esattamente.
M5-Chris F: Non è come andare al mercato e dire “Quanto vuoi per questo? No, è troppo, ti darò
quest’altro, invece...” Ma è proprio quello che sta accadendo, lo stiamo vedendo in certi comportamenti
di alcune autorità della Chiesa: stanno provando a venire a patti con Dio. “Eh, Signore, purtroppo non
possiamo consacrare la Russia, perché sarebbe un’offesa ecumenica verso gli Ortodossi…” Io penso che
sia un problema gravissimo, non lo pensi anche tu John?
M4-JV: Assolutamente sì. È una cerimonia semplicissima. Uno dei temi ricorrenti del documentario è
proprio: "Perché non farla? Che c’è da perdere?” è un atto semplicissimo, una cerimonia che
richiederebbe al Papa e ai Vescovi non più di 5 minuti del loro tempo, Abbiamo il precedente della
Consacrazione al Cuore Immacolato del Portogallo, compiuta dai Vescovi Portoghesi: una preghiera
semplicissima, ma dagli effetti meravigliosi!
M5-Chris F: Questo argomento verrà affrontato nelle prossime parti del documentario, che manderemo
in onda nelle settimane a venire.
