1) Promoting the development of sport turism
By creating dedicated areas for Kitesurfing, Sardinia would be a reference
meta for kitesurfing:
-
sport turism incentive
-
turism increasing in low season (Sardinia is suitable for kitesurfing from
mid-March to mid-November)
Important:
a) as well as the world, even in Italy the market of sport turism (considered one of the
richest) is increasing
b) Kitesurfing is the sport with the highest percentage increase of sportmen all over
the world

2) Increasing of social and territorial cohesion places
a) new places for social and territorial cohesion would be created
b) In line with objectives of Europe 2020 there would be:
- a sustainable growth designed to live the territory and its resources
without environmental impact
- an inclusive growth, as most of the kitesurfing schools in Sardinia are
made up by people from Sardinia

Increasing of marketing for whole Sardinia
a few numbers of regions and cities have areas for kitesurfing
Sardinia, becoming a popular and reference place for kitesurfing, would
attract the attention of many tour operators and travel agencies that would
include our island in their destinations

Conclusions
1)
Kitesurf has an enormous potential
2)
This potential cannot be exploited because the lack of Kitesurf
dedicated areas
Hope is that come to realizing the potential of kitesurf, the Region and
the municipal government could agree the actual and future proposals for
dedicated areas by kitesurf associations and schools
actual proposal under Region review
Kitesurf lane at Poetto of Cagliari (9 km of beach without any possibility
for kitesurfing)

“sport & nature” (Teulada, Cagliari, Villasimius, may 2013)
