or 28 years now,
Gerstlauer
Amusement
Rides has been “making the
world go round”, as its motto goes, supplying
innovative custom-made solutions to parks
worldwide. Rides that are also highly technological as the company treasures the knowhow and tradition of one of the most respected
companies of all times, Anton Schwarzkopf,
of which they took over the premises in 1992,
also gaining some of the most experienced
personnel in the industry.
Based in Münsterhausen, not far from
Munich, the company was founded in 1982
by Hubert Gerstlauer, who had been working
for 14 years for Anton Schwarzkopf as a se-
nior designer of control systems and supervisor to the installation of all Schwarzkopf
attractions and later on as a designer and
installer of electrical and pneumatic systems
for other well-known German manufacturers.
Today at Gerstlauer, making use of the
most advanced CAD systems and manufacturing processes, a team of 40 highly qualified employees design and manufacture rides
of all kinds and sizes: from roller coasters of
various type to giant Ferris wheels, as well
as flat rides and dark rides, transport systems
and coaster trains.
The jewel of the company’s production
is the vertical coaster Euro-Fighter featurMammut, the wooden coaster
introduced in Tripsdrill park
in 2007. It is the result of a
cooperation between Gerstlauer
and German Cordes, specializing
in wood construction. Gerstlauer
built all the machinery parts, cars
and control system.

l’azienda ha saputo valorizzare e perpetuare il know-how della storica azienda tedesca
di Anton Schwarzkopf dopo averne rilevato
gli stabilimenti nel 1992 assicurandosi con
quest’operazione anche un gruppo di collaboratori di altissima esperienza.
La società ha la sua sede a un’ora d’auto
da Monaco, a Münsterhausen. Suo fondatore
nel 1982, nonché da allora direttore, è Hubert
Gerstlauer, formatosi all’interno dell’Anton
Schwarzkopf, dove per 14 anni ricoprì il ruolo
di progettista di sistemi di controllo e supervisore all’installazione di tutte le attrazioni di
quell’azienda, per poi lavorare come progettista e installatore di sistemi elettrici e pneumatici per vari costruttori tedeschi di fama.
Oggi, utilizzando i più evoluti sistemi CAD
e moderni processi produttivi, con un team di
40 persone, Gerstlauer progetta e produce
attrazioni di tutti i tipi e dimensioni: dai coaster di vario genere, anche i più estremi, alle
ruote panoramiche giganti, passando per flat
ride e dark ride, sistemi di trasporto e treni per
coaster di legno.

The new symbol of Nigloland park in
France is this 50-metre high open structure
Giant Wheel by Gerstlauer featuring only
4 columns supporting the wheel as well as
special gondola hanging arms to offer an
excellent view. Only LEDs have been used
for the lighting.

è questa ruota gigante da 50m costruita da
Gerstlauer e caratterizzata da una struttura
aperta con solo 4 piloni a sostenere la ruota
e da bracci speciali di sostegno della gondola
che garantiscono una visuale eccellente. Per
l’illuminazione sono stati usati solo Led.
Below: the new Euro-Fighter built by Gerstlauer for Eventpark
Belantis, Germany, makes passengers experience 5 upside downs along
its 560m-long track, a number of inversions larger than on any other
Gerstlauer roller coaster. The highlights of the ride are its 32m vertical
lift, 95°first drop, cobra-roll, camel hump, and 2 interlocking flatspins.
Six special six-seater V shaped cars are used. Their open concept, stadium seating enable
unobstructed view on the track.

fa sperimentare ai suoi passeggeri 5 loop verticali lungo il suo tracciato di 560m, il più alto numero
di inversioni mai proposto dall’azienda in un coaster. Gli elementi di spicco sono la salita verticale
di 32m, l’angolazione della prima caduta di 95°, un cobra-roll, un camelback e 2 avvitamenti
intrecciati. Sei vetture che trasportano ciascuna 6 passeggeri disposti a V, a mo’ di gradinata,
consentono una visuale libera da ostruzioni sulla rotaia sottostante.

Il quarto costruito dall’azienda per una
collocazione del genere, ha un percorso molto
emozionante, con le sue cadute, le curve strette
e a ‘s’, nonostante le dimensioni limitate.

anche in versione combinata coaster-dark
ride (come il Mystery Mine al Dollywood Park,
Tennessee) anche con tema horror (Saw-The
Ride al Thorpe Park, Regno Unito) o come
launch coaster con motore lineare a corrente magnetica per il lancio, e accelerazioni
da 0 a 100km/h in 1,4 secondi (come Fluch
von Novgorod inaugurato all’Hansa Park, in
Germania nel 2009).q

The Sky Roller attraction by Gerstlauer
offers its riders a sensational interactive
flight aboard individual open seats, with their
legs dangling free. The rotation of the seat is
controlled by the rider with wings attached at
the sides.

dei suoi sedili rotanti muniti di ali ai lati. Proprio
mediante le ali, i rider, seduti con le gambe a
