PRESENTATION
The 24th edi on of the 2016 European Cup for Hounds FCI will be organized by the
Croa an Kennel Club, in collabora on with the Kennel Club “Dalma nski pas” Zadar.
RULES
There are the following categories:
- SINGLE / SOLO
- PACK
Only hounds with pedigrees recognized by the FCI and iden fied by microchip are admi ed
to the Cup.
Each subject must be in possession of health passport in which the date of inocula on of
the rabies vaccine must be at least 30 days prior to entry into the Republic, in order to enter
the compe on.
The Countries that will par cipate in the category “Single” (solo) will not be admi ed to
the category “pack of dogs” .
In the single category each Country cannot enter more than two subjects.
The C.A.C.I.T. will be awarded in compliance with regula ons of FCI European Cup for
Hounds.

GEOFAUNA
The soils are characteris c areal hills, stoned ground , even drywall stone.
Vegeta on – mediterranean (dry grass and dense spruce).
There are roads in middle of dense fields so judges can normally monitor the work of dogs.
It is covered with typically Mediterranean vegeta on. Hun ng paths and breaks are well
maintained. The abundance of small game and the mild Mediterranean climate provide for
pleasant hun ng moments.
The old historic City of Zadar, once the capital of Dalma a, today is the administra ve and
cultural centre of the County of Zadar, which extends from the upper course of the Una in the
north, to an island called Dugi otok, and beyond into the open sea. It also includes the lowland
areas of Bukovica and Ravni kotari, the lake-like seas of Karin and Novigrad, an a rac ve
shoreline and numerous islands, together with the Telašćica Nature Park, close to the Korna
Na onal Park, and sec ons of the Paklenica Na onal Park and the Velebit Nature Park.
The types of hun ng grounds in the Zadar region vary according to the type of wildlife habitat,
whether in the mountains or in the lowlands. In the rock-bound areas of southern Velebit,
one can hunt small game such as hare, Rock Partridge and snipe, while in the higher grounds
the game includes wild boar, chamois, deer and brown bear. The Zadar area is one of the
last natural habitats of the partridge. It is also the venue of the Interna onal Championship
for Bird Dogs, one of the most important in Europe. The Ravni kotari hun ng ground offers
the hunt for quail, pheasant and hare, and the interest of hunters may also be s rred by the
opportunity to give chase to the golden jackal, whose popula on is quite large.

ZADAR
HOW TO REACH THE EVENT VENUES
The city of Zadar is an easily reached des na on by land, sea and air.
It has a good traffic infrastructure through which it is directly connected to other bigger
ci es of the Republic of Croa a: Zagreb, Rijeka, Split and Dubrovnik, with extraordinary
accommoda on and contemporary service of numerous marinas. Whichever way you want
to reach Zadar, the natural beauty of the landscape will not leave you equanimous.
By road, it is easily reached as A1 highway is ge ng you there from all the major ci es in Croa a.
The ferry port as well as the new tourist port for cruisers are located on the new and
spacious Gaženica port, some 3 km away from the center of the town (tourist cruising ships
as well as local ferry and ship lines with Preko, Zaglav, Mali Lošinj, Pula and Ancona/Italy).
Air transport, even though the airport is small it is contemporary (9 km distance from the
center), and connects Zadar with bigger ci es of the Republic of Croa a and some European
capitals. Other des na ons are accessible with changes in Zagreb, the capital of the Republic
of Croa a and in the network of interna onal air traffic (London-Stansted, Paris-Beauvais,
Berlin, Stockholm, Bruxelles-Charleroi, Marseille, Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Zürich, OsloRygge, Dublin, Manchester, Düsseldorf, Karlsruhe, Göteborg, Billund, Wroclaw, Haugesund,
Cologne/Bonn, Stu gart, Bra slava, Friedrichshafen, Warsaw and Gdansk).
