Cristina Di Venanzio Cristina Di Venanzio, born in Rieti (Ri) on September, 19th 1981. Degree: Physics, 2007, University of Rome “La Sapienza”. XXVIII Cycle – (2nd year) PhD. Section: Microsystems Engineering Title: Synthetic Single Diamond Dosimeters for “In Vivo” Dosimetry in advanced Radio Therapy technique Tutor: Prof. Verona Rinati Co-Tutor: Abstract: The PhD research activity will be focused on the design, fabrication and characterization of novel synthetic single crystal diamond dosimeters for radiotherapy. Both on-line (with cable) and off-line (wireless) dosimeters for application in in-vivo dosimetry during advanced radiotherapy treatment will be developed. Particular care will be devoted to the design of the housing of the device in order to meet the stringent requirements imposed by small field dosimetry. During the PhD research the devices will be characterized at Policlinico di Tor Vergata and Policlinico Agostino Gemelli in advanced external radiotherapy techniques such as Step-and-shoot and sliding window IMRT, VMAT and Tomotherapy and compared to commercially available invivo dosimeters (MOSFET, silicon diodes and radiothermoluminescent dosimeters). Once the characterization process will be completed, a detailed assessment of the proposed device performance and radiotherapy pre-clinical tests will be performed. Publications: [1]. F. Bordi, C.
