David Lamb è a pezzi: dopo aver divorziato dalla moglie, si trova
a distanza di poco a dover affrontare anche la morte del padre.
Quando tutto sembra perduto, l’incontro in un parcheggio con
Tommie, undicenne solitaria e problematica, cambia le carte in
tavola: desideroso di compiere finalmente del bene, David parte
con la ragazzina per un viaggio verso le Montagne Rocciose.
E mano a mano che i due si conoscono, circondati da una natura
selvaggia e mozzafiato, le loro vite si aprono l’una all’altra.
«La storia raccontata nel film è complessa ma meravigliosamente
poetica: ha l’incedere di un inno spirituale, viene dal profondo, ti
lacera il cuore, e fa di tutto per lasciare frutti dietro di sé: bontà

The life of David Lamb is in shambles: shortly after his divorce, he
also had to face his father’s death. When everything seems lost, he
meets Tommie in a parking lot: an eleven-year-old girl, somewhat of
an awkward loner. And everything changes: feeling the urge to finally
do something positive, David sets off with the girl in a journey toward
the Rocky Mountains. Surrounded by wilderness and breathtaking
landscapes, the unlikely pair gets to know each other as their lives
slowly open up to one another.
“The story is frightening, yet beautifully poetic – it keeps on like a
spiritual hymn, singing deep into the flesh, ripping at your heart, and
somehow begging for consequences, goodness, and hope. Through it,
perhaps we might begin to examine a small part of ourselves; our

a director in 2000 with Interstate 84,
which was followed by six episodes of
the series Wedlock. He also produced

America Rebuilds: A Year at Ground
Zero (Seth Kramer, Daniel A. Miller,
2002), as well as the comedy The DoDeca-Pentathlon (Jay Duplass, Mark
