IPad Acceptable Use Policy and Guidelines
Technology resources at ISF are provided for the purpose of supporting the educational vision
of the School.
Use of these technologies is a privilege that carries responsibility and behavioral expectations
consistent with all school rules and policies, including but not limited to those stated in the ISF
Upper and Junior School Student/Parent Handbooks.
It is understood that members of the ISF community will use all types of computing devices
and the School’s network in a responsible, ethical, and legal manner at all times.
This document sets out the expectations of The International School of Florence regarding
responsible use of iPads.
Students and parents are required to review this document to assume responsibility for the
protection of hardware and software of the iPad.
The student will be issued an iPad with predetermined applications (Apps) installed.
The International School of Florence retains sole right of possession of the iPad and related
equipment. The iPad will be issued to students according to the guidelines set forth in this
document. ISF retains the right to collect and/or inspect the iPad at any time, and to alter,
add, or delete installed software or hardware.
The school will:





Provide an iPad for the use of your child for the length of the school year.
Provide the resources required for educational purposes.
Ensure that the iPad is insured for use in and out of school for study purposes.
Ensure parents and learners have a proper introduction to using and caring for the device.
Monitor the use of the iPad in and around school.
Student Agreement for iPad Use
 I will use my iPad in ways that are appropriate for educational purposes and meet ISF
expectations.
 I will follow the policies outlined in the iPad Acceptable Use Policy and the ISF Upper School
Student/Parent Handbook while at school and at home at all times.
 I will bring my iPad to School every day fully charged, unless I have been told not to by school
administration.
 I understand that my iPad is subject to inspection at any time without notice and remains the
property of ISF.
 I will take good care of my iPad.
 I will never leave the iPad unattended and I will know where it is at all times.
 I will ensure that when the iPad is transported, it is as secure as possible (e.g. not visible in a
vehicle; not left unattended on a bus; not advertising ownership of my iPad; stored in my
backpack).
 I will protect my iPad by only carrying it while in the case provided, or in an ISF approved case.
 I will back-up my iPad with my home computer in order to save my documents and work.
 I will attach my iPad to a school iTunes account only, using my school provided gmail.
 I will in no way ‘jailbreak’ my iPad.
 I will never loan my iPad or give my password to other individuals.
 I will not let anyone else use my iPad other than my parents, guardians or teachers.
 I will keep food and beverages away from my iPad, since they may cause damage to the
device.
 I will clean the screen with a soft, antistatic cloth ONLY

 I will not disassemble any part of my iPad or attempt any repairs.
 I may not place decorations (such as stickers, markers, etc.) on the iPad or do anything to
permanently alter the iPad in anyway.
 I may add stickers to the iPad cover to personalize the cover. I must not deface the school
identification stickers and they must remain visible. The stickers I add must not make it
difficult to remove the iPad from its case and must be in good taste.
 I will not change settings on my iPad, including the name of my iPad.
 I will not remove or deface the serial number or other identification on any iPad.
 I will inform my parents of case of theft, vandalism and other acts covered by insurance and
they will file a police report and inform the School.
 I will be responsible for all damage or loss caused by neglect or abuse.
 I agree to return the IPad should I leave the school for any reason, upon request and at the
end of each school year.
 I will ensure that the iPad is not subject to careless or malicious damage (e.g. as a result of
horseplay).
 I will not transport my iPad with the charger still in the port.
 I will ensure that my iPad is not used for any illegal and/or anti-social purpose, including access
to inappropriate websites and chat-rooms.
 I will allow teachers to access my iPad to check for inappropriate materials. I understand that
teachers will be allowed to remove inappropriate resources.
 I will not take photographs or videos without the permission of the subject. I will not upload or
share these images with anyone without the permission of the subject.
 I will not delete my internet browsing history.
 I will be mindful of the time that I spend on my iPad.
 I will always act on the advice of the School in the use of this device.
Parent Agreement for iPad Use








I will ensure that my child understands how to care for and protect his/her iPad.
I will report any loss or damage (including accidental loss or damage) promptly to the School.
I will report any faults in hardware or software promptly to the School.
I will ensure that the iPad is returned if the student leaves the School or at any other time
upon the request of a member of staff.
I will ensure that iPad is not used for any illegal and/or anti-social purpose, including access to
inappropriate Internet sites and chatrooms.
I will ensure that my child understands that the device is for educational purposes only, and
that it must always be in a working state.
I will ensure that Apps and Resources other than those provided by the School will not be
downloaded without School’s prior permission; any Apps and Resources loaded without such
permission will be removed.
I also acknowledge the following:
All insurance claims will be handled by ISF working directly with the insurance agency. In the event
of theft, parents must report the loss to their local police department (carabinieri or polizia di
stato). A copy of the report must be presented to the School before an iPad can be repaired or
replaced.
Failure to report a theft and produce a police report in a timely manner may result in the claim
being dismissed and parents being liable for the cost of repair or replacement.
Students will be held responsible for neglectful or intentional damage to their iPads including, but
not limited to: broken screens, cracked plastic pieces, inoperability, etc. Should the cost to repair
exceed the cost of purchasing a new device, the student will pay for full replacement value.
Lost items such as cases and cables will be charged the actual replacement cost to the family.

Le risorse tecnologiche fornite da ISF sono da intendersi come supporto alla visione didattica della scuola.
L’uso di tali tecnologie è un privilegio che comporta responsabilità e esigenze comportamentali coerenti con le
regole e le linee di condotta della scuola, incluse (ma non limitate a) quelle dichiarate nella Guida ISF per
Genitori/Studenti di Upper School.
Resta inteso che i membri della comunità di ISF faranno sempre uso di ogni tipo di dispositivi elettronici e
della rete della scuola in maniera responsabile, etica, e legale.
Il presente documento espone le aspettative della International School of Florence riguardo all’uso
responsabile di iPad.
Si chiede gentilmente a tutti gli studenti di 7th grade e ai loro genitori di esaminare questo documento, e di
firmare l’accordo allegato in modo da attestarne il ricevimento e assumersi la responsabilità per la custodia di
hardware e software.
Allo studente verrà consegnato un iPad con applicazioni già installate (apps).
La International School of Florence si riserva unicamente il diritto di proprietà dell’iPad e delle attrezzature
ad esso correlate. Gli iPad saranno consegnati agli studenti in accordo con le linee guida stabilite nel presente
documento. ISF si riserva il diritto di ritirare e ispezionare gli iPad in qualsiasi momento, e di alterare,
aggiungere o cancellare software o hardware su di essi installati.
La scuola provvederà a:
 Fornire un iPad a vostro figlio per l’intera durata del progetto.
 Fornire le risorse necessarie a scopi educativi.
 Garantire che l’iPad sia assicurato per uso a scopi didattici dentro e fuori dalla scuola.
 Garantire che che apprendenti e genitori ricevano istruzioni appropriate sull’uso e la cura dello
strumento.
 Controllare l’uso dell’iPad nella scuola e nelle sue prossimità.

 Mi impegno a usare l’iPad in modo appropriato per scopi didattici, e a soddisfare le aspettative di ISF.
 Mi impegno a seguire sempre, sia a scuola, che a casa, le linee di condotta esposte nella Politica di uso
accettabile di iPad e nella Guida per Studenti/Genitori di Upper School.
 Mi impegno a portare a scuola il mio iPad ogni giorno, con la batteria completamente carica, a meno
che non sia stato diversamente istruito dall’amministrazione della scuola.
 Comprendo che il mio iPad è soggetto, in qualsiasi momento e senza alcun preavviso, alla ispezione
della scuola, e che rimane di sola proprietà della scuola stessa.
 Mi impegno a prendermi cura del mio iPad.
 Mi impegno a non lasciare mai l’iPad incustodito e a essere in ogni momento consapevole di dove si
trova.
 Mi impegno a garantire che il trasporto dell’iPad avverrà in modo il più possibile sicuro (es. non
lasciarlo visibilmente esposto in un veicolo; non lasciarlo incustidito sull’autobus; non dire
pubblicamente che l’iPad è tuo; non lasciarlo per troppo tempo nel tuo zaino).
 Mi impegno a proteggere il mio iPad, trasportandolo solo se inserito nella custodia fornitami o in una
simile approvata da ISF.
 Mi impegno a non sincronizzare l’iPad con un computer, e a non collegarlo a un mio account personale
di iTunes.
 Mi impegno a non installare applicazioni non autorizzate (jailbreak)
 Mi impegno a non prestare mai il mio iPad e a non dare la password a altri individui.



Mi impegno a non lasciare che nessun altro eccetto i miei genitori, custodi o insegnanti usino il mio
iPad.
Mi impegno a tenere lontani dall’iPad cibo e bevande, perchè potrebbero danneggiare il dispositivo.
Mi impegno a pulire lo schermo solo con un panno soffice antistatico (per maggiori informazioni, vedi

Mi impegno a non smontare il mio iPad e a non tentare mai di ripararlo.
Mi impegno a non attaccare decorazioni adesive sull’iPad o a fare qualcosa che possa alternarne
permanentemente l’aspetto.
Mi è permesso attaccare decorazioni adesive sulla custodia dell’iPad per personalizzarla. Non devo,
però, in alcun modo deturpare gli adesivi di identificazione della scuola, che devono rimanere visibili.
Se decido di aggiungere degli adesivi, questi non devono rendere difficile la rimozione dell’iPad dalla
sua custodia; devono anche essere di buon gusto.
Mi impegno a non rimuovere o deturpare il numero seriale o qualsiasi altro identificativo.
Mi impegno a informare i miei genitori in caso di furto, vandalismo e altri atti coperti
dall’assicurazione. I miei genitori provvederanno a fare appropriata denuncia alle autorità e a
informare la scuola.
Mi assumo la responsabilità di qualsiasi danno o perdita causati da trascuratezza e cattivo uso
dell’iPad.
Mi impegno a riconsegnare l’iPad nel caso lasci la scuola per qualsiasi motivo, e comunque dietro
richiesta e alla fine di ogni anno scolastico.
Mi impegno ad assicurarmi che il mio iPad non sia soggetto a danni volontari causati da incuranza (es.
per scherzi di cattivo gusto)
Mi impegno a non portare in giro il mio iPad con il caricatore ancora inserito nella porta.
Garantisco che il mio iPad non verrà usato per scopi illegali o anti-sociali, incluso l’accesso a siti
Internet inappropriati o di chat.
Accetto che i miei insegnanti controllino se ho installato materiali inappropriati sul mio iPad, e che
possano eventualmente rimuoverli.
Mi impegno a non girare video, a non fare fotografie, e a non condividerli con nessuno senza averne
prima ricevuto il permesso.
Mi impegno a non cancellare la cronologia di navigazione in Internet sul mio iPad.
Mi impegno a essere responsabile e consapevole del tempo che trascorro sul mio iPad.
Mi impegno ad agire sempre secondo i consigli della scuola nell’uso di questo strumento.
Accordo dei genitori sull’uso di iPad
 Mi impegno ad assicurarmi che mio figlio capisca come prendersi cura del suo iPad.
 Mi impegno a comunicare tempestivamente alla scuola qualsiasi episodio di danno o smarrimento
(inclusi quelli accidentali).
 Mi impegno a comunicare tempestivamente alla scuola qualsiasi malfunzionamento di hardware o
software.
 Garantisco che l’iPad sarà restituito nel caso lo studente dovesse lasciare la scuola o dietro qualsiasi
richiesta del personale della scuola stessa.
 Mi impegno ad assicurarmi che l’iPad non sia usato per scopi illeciti e/o anti-sociali, incluso l’accesso
a siti Internet inapproprati e a chatrooms.
 Mi impegno a fare in modo che mio figlio comprenda che l’uso dello strumento è esclusivamente a fini
didattici, e che deve essere mantenuto in buono stato operativo.
 Mi impegno a fare in modo che apps e altre risorse diverse da quelle fornite dalla scuola non siano
scaricate senza il permesso della medesima; qualsiasi app o altra risorsa installata illegittimamente
verrà rimossa.

Accetto, inoltre, quanto riportato di seguito:
Qualsiasi rivendicazione assicurativa sarà di pertinenza di ISF, che si metterà direttamente in contatto con
l’agenzia di assicurazioni. In caso di furto, i genitori devono sporgere denuncia presso le autorità di Polizia
locali (Carabinieri o Polizia di Stato). Devono anche presentarne copia alla scuola prima che l’iPad possa
essere riparato o sostituito.
L’inosservanza di quanto sopra e il ritardo nella comunicazione del furto e nel produrre la denuncia potrebbe
comportare la perdita dei diritti di assicurazione e il dovere, da parte dei genitori, di rimborsare la riparazione
o sostituzione dell’iPad.
Gli studenti saranno ritenuti responsabili per danni all’iPad di natura intenzionale o causati da incuranza
quali, ma non limitati a: schermo rotto, parti in plastica incrinate, inoperabilità, e simili. Qualora il costo della
riparazione eccedesse il costo d’acquisto di un nuovo dispositivo, lo studente dovrà rimborsare l’intero valore
d’acquisto.
Alle famiglie verrà addebitato l’acquisto di eventuali pezzi smarriti quali custodie e cavetti.
