Economist in the Market Division - Retail Markets Policy Directorate.
My team is responsible for regulating retail energy markets in UK. I am currently involved
in the following projects:
– Retail Market Review (RMR) Evaluation: the aim of this project is to evaluate the
effectiveness of the RMR, a set of rules recently implemented by Ofgem to increase
consumers’ engagement in the energy market. I am responsible for designing the
consumer survey and the consumer panel.
– Derogations: the aim of this work is to assessing whether suppliers, under particular
circumstances, could be exempted from regulatory rules.
– Compliance monitoring: the aim of the project is to monitor suppliers’ compliance
with tariff rules.
– Third Party Intermediaries (TPIs): the aim of the project is to define the regulatory
framework for TPIs (switching sites, collective switching providers etc).
