Giovanna Zincone è fondatrice e presidente di FIERI (Forum Internazionale
ed Europeo di Ricerche sull’Immigrazione), un centro multidisciplinare di
ricerche sull’immigrazione, che è la componente italiana della network
europea IMISCOE. E’ stata Professore ordinario di Scienza Politica presso
l’Università di Torino dal 1990 al 2005 ed è attualmente Senior Fellow al
Collegio Carlo Alberto di Torino. E’ membro dell’Associazione Accademica
“Il Mulino”. È stata presidente della Commissione per le politiche di
integrazione degli immigrati presso il Dipartimento per gli Affari Sociali. È
membro di comitati di direzione e scientifici di varie riviste italiane e straniere,
collabora a “La Stampa”.
E' attualmente la Consulente del Presidente della Repubblica per i problemi della Coesione Sociale
le cui competenze includono anche l’immigrazione.

Giovanna Zincone is founder and president of FIERI (Forum Internazionale ed Europeo di
Ricerche sull’Immigrazione/ Forum of International and European Research on Migration), an
interdisciplinary research network on migration, which is the Italian partner of the international
network IMISCOE. She was full Professor of Political Science at the University of Turin from 1990
to 2005 and she is currently Senior Fellow at Collegio Carlo Alberto in Turin. She is member of the
Academic Association “Il Mulino”. Former President of the National Committee for the Integration
of Immigrants, attached to the Presidency of the Council, Department of Social Affairs. Member of
the scientific and editorial boards of many Italian and international reviews. She contributes to the
Italian newspapers La Stampa.
She is currently the official Consultant of the President of the Italian Republic on matter of Social
Cohesion whose competence also includes the topic of immigration.
