"Fratelli carissimi,
questa assemblea liturgica è preludio alla Pasqua del Signore, alla quale ci stiamo preparando con la penitenza
e con le opere di carità fin dall'inizio della Quaresima. Gesù entra in Gerusalemme per dare compimento al
mistero della sua morte e risurrezione. Accompagniamo con fede e devozione il nostro Salvatore nel suo ingresso
nella città santa, e chiediamo la grazia di seguirlo fino alla croce, per essere partecipi della sua risurrezione".
Noi dobbiamo accompagnare Gesù verso il calvario. Non ci possiamo tirare indietro. Non abbiamo paura di
guardare in faccia ad un Dio crocifisso per amore e che per riconciliare il mondo con l'eternità, offre se stesso sul
patibolo della croce, un supplizio il più ignobile che possa esistere per uccidere un uomo. Immergiamoci oggi in
questo grande mistero dell'amore di Dio, che nella sua passione, morte e risurrezione ci ridona speranza e vita
nuova. L'immagine del crocifisso, l'Ecce Homo, ci accompagni in questi giorni santi, non solo meditando sul
grande mistero della sofferenza di un Dio innocente, ma anche sulla sofferenza di tanti innocenti della terra, a
partire dai tanti bambini uccisi dalla guerra, dalla violenza, dalla fame, dalla globalizzazione dell'indifferenza, nel
silenzio più assordante di un mondo che non ama guardare in faccia alla realtà, ma che preferisce narcotizzarsi
con varie droghe culturali, ideologiche, religiose, politiche, economiche che non vanno nella direzione giusta, non
vanno verso Dio e verso Cristo e per ciò stesso non vanno verso l'uomo e l'umanità.
Consapevoli dell'infinito amore di Dio verso di noi, meditiamo sulla passione di Cristo. L'inno Cristologico della
lettera di San Paolo Apostolo ai Filippesi, ci aiuterà moltissimo a fare un cammino di vera conversione, di vero
rinnovamento spirituale per questa Pasqua 2016, che è la Pasqua dell'anno giubilare della misericordia.
La sintesi di questa croce misericordiosa di Gesù, la troviamo espresso in modo esemplare in questo bellissimo
brano, che dovremmo sempre avere davanti agli occhi e nella nostra mente per bene operare con noi stessi e con
gli altri: "Cristo Gesù, pur essendo nella condizione di Dio, non ritenne un privilegio l'essere come Dio, ma
svuotò se stesso assumendo una condizione di servo, diventando simile agli uomini. Dall'aspetto riconosciuto
come uomo, umiliò se stesso facendosi obbediente fino alla morte e a una morte di croce".
Il racconto della passione di Cristo, tratto dal Vangelo di Luca ci da ulteriori elementi di riflessione e di
approfondimento, ma soprattutto per chiedere davvero perdono a Gesù, ai sui piedi come Maria. Non lo facciamo
passare invano, ma chiediamo davvero al Signore, per intercessione della Madonna Addolorata, che in questo
venerdì la ricordiamo come "Desolata", che la Passione di Gesù Cristo sia sempre impressa nei nostri cuori. E con
questo spirito di attenzione a colui che muore per noi sulla croce, questa nostra attenzione si sposti in questi
giorni su quanti stanno morendo e soffrendo, come Gesù in Croce, nel silenzio più coerente con la propria fede
cristiano che ci invia a rivolgere lo sguardo a Colui che è stato trafitto e crocifisso per amore, per l'amore verso
ognuno di noi.
Domenica delle Palme è il giorno per leggere nei disegni di Dio la sua volontà su ciascuno di noi e su tutta
l'umanità.
Sia questa la preghiera augurale per noi e per gli altri in questa giornata di pace e di fraternità universale, che
abbiamo la possibilità di essere vissuta almeno per 24 ore, con la palma in mano come i martiri di ieri e di
sempre: "Accresci, o Dio, la fede di chi spera in te, e concedi a noi tuoi fedeli, che rechiamo questi rami in onore
di Cristo trionfante, di rimanere uniti a lui, per portare frutti di opere buone".

BOWLING: SEASON 2015-2016
Saturday April 30th concludes a fun and exciting season
with an award ceremony. I would like to thank the steering
group and the bowlers for the financial contributions given
to the Parish.
Thank you on behalf of the parishioners.
This will be a fun and relaxing evening. Not only will the
prizes be distributed it will also be an occasion to spend and
enjoy the evening together with laughter, friendship, music
and dinner.
This event is not only for the bowling members.
There is room for an additional 70 person to join the party.
