General Marking Guidance
•
All candidates must receive the same treatment.
Examiners must mark the first candidate in exactly the
same way as they mark the last.
•
Mark schemes should be applied positively. Candidates
must be rewarded for what they have shown they can do
rather than penalised for omissions.
•
Examiners should mark according to the mark scheme not
according to their perception of where the grade
boundaries may lie.
•
There is no ceiling on achievement. All marks on the mark
scheme should be used appropriately.
•
All the marks on the mark scheme are designed to be
awarded. Examiners should always award full marks if
deserved, i.e. if the answer matches the mark scheme.
Examiners should also be prepared to award zero marks if
the candidate’s response is not worthy of credit according
to the mark scheme.
•
Where some judgement is required, mark schemes will
provide the principles by which marks will be awarded and
exemplification may be limited.
•
When examiners are in doubt regarding the application of
the mark scheme to a candidate’s response, the team
leader must be consulted.
•
Crossed out work should be marked UNLESS the candidate
has replaced it with an alternative response.

2. A weekend trip
M1 Vogliamo portare la nostra ospite inglese a visitare una città per il fine
settimana. Quale mi consigliate?
F1 Io direi Bologna. È molto elegante. ...E poi a Bologna si mangia bene.
M2 Io suggerisco Imperia. Imperia è sul mare, perciò il clima è più caldo. E
poi è molto vicina alla Francia e puoi portarci i tuoi amici per una breve
visita.
F2 Io sceglierei Pisa. Ci sono molti monumenti famosi da visitare e in
particolare la torre.

Sea Festival

Il prossimo fine settimana si svolgerà la Festa del Mare che quest'anno avrà
un programma ricco e interessante. In particolare segnaliamo:

Sabato sera, alle 20.30, sulla spiaggia: proiezioni di brevi film all'aperto.

Domenica mattina, alle ore 11.00, il club “Vele al vento” offrirà la possibilità
di fare un emozionante viaggio in barca a vela sotto la guida di un esperto.

A mezzogiorno ci sarà un pranzo all'aperto, con piatti a base di pesce.

Alle ore 14.30 inizierà la gara di pesca aperta al pubblico, con
partecipazione gratuita. I giovani saranno benvenuti e ci sarà un premio
speciale per loro.
4. Young people and music

Una domanda per i nostri giovani ascoltatori: “Come hai sviluppato i tuoi
gusti musicali?” Chiamateci con le vostre risposte.

Ciao, sono Roberto. Io penso che canali televisivi come MTV decidono i gusti
dei giovani. Per me almeno è successo così.

Salve, sono Fiammetta. Non sono d’accordo con Roberto. MTV ci propone la
musica che vuole, ma sta a noi scegliere la musica che vogliamo ascoltare.
Invece di limitarsi a guardare MTV, si potrebbero comprare riviste di musica
o andare su youtube. L'importante è non essere pigri.

Sono Cinzia e chiamo da Bologna. Io penso che l’influenza degli amici è più
determinante. Se vuoi far parte del gruppo è importante ascoltare la stessa
musica.

Ciao. Tutti mi chiamano Sid e amo la musica punk. Non credo di essere
stato influenzato da nessuno: ho sentito questa musica e me ne sono
innamorato. I miei amici punk li ho conosciuti dopo.
5 The Bergamo Youth Games

Saranno 1.100 i ragazzi che, bel tempo permettendo, parteciperanno alla
finale provinciale dei Giochi della Gioventù, Venerdì 21 maggio. I
protagonisti saranno i ragazzi delle scuole medie della Provincia di Bergamo.
Le gare si svolgeranno al Centro Sportivo.
Questa è già la sesta edizione di questa manifestazione, e sarà una giornata
dedicata interamente allo sport.

La nuova formula dei Giochi della Gioventù non esclude nessuno: intende
superare l'aspetto competitivo, facendo capire ai giovani che l’importante è
partecipare e non vincere.
Lo scopo di questa iniziativa è quello di promuovere l’idea che lo sport è
parte integrante di una vita sana. Vuole anche educare i giovani alla
socializzazione e al rispetto degli altri.
Il numero di ragazzi è andato via via crescendo negli anni, dai 300 della
prima edizione fino a raggiungere i 1.100 di quest’anno. In caso di pioggia i
giochi saranno rimandati alla settimana succesiva.
6 Travel by train
M2
Mi piace viaggiare in treno quando riesco a prenotare un posto e sono sicuro
che non devo stare in piedi. Di solito preferisco un posto vicino al finestrino,
perché mi piace guardare la campagna. E poi il treno ti dà la possibilità di
conoscere persone nuove.
Quando viaggio in treno sono felice perché aiuto l’ambiente.

M1 Non ancora. Mi piacerebbe studiare le lingue, ma non c’è un liceo
linguistico nella mia città. Non vorrei viaggiare o vivere lontano da casa.

Questo è il secondo anno. Lavoro tre mesi d'estate, durante le vacanze.

Ti pagano bene?
M1
La paga per un giovane senza esperienza è di 450 euro al mese più vitto e
alloggio, però man mano che acquisti esperienza la paga sale fino a oltre
1000 euro.

Sono soprattutto i soldi che ti attirano?
M1
No. Ci sono villaggi turistici in tutto il mondo, quindi c'è la possibilità di
conoscere il mondo, di incontrare persone interessanti, di fare nuove
amicizie e....essere pagati per farlo.

Quindi, è una lunga vacanza pagata?
M1
Non proprio. È un'esperienza interessante, ma è anche un lavoro duro, che
richiede un impegno per molte ore al giorno.

Altri svantaggi?
M1
Uno, molto grande: una volta che cominci non hai più voglia di smettere.
