Maya al Vesuvio.
Ferplast, specifically, supplies tanks with a ‘natural’ design (picture 5)
equipped with a LED lighting system and touch dimmer control: you just
touch the hood an the light changes intensity. The high end, complete and
beautiful tanks that Eheim and Aqua One presented looked compact and
elegant. Similarly, the nice and complete tanks of Diversa looked
stylistically and technologically new – from the tanks for children to the
ones designed for caridinas and the large professional aquariums: they
are equipped with LED lights that allow to control all parameters of
spectrum and intensity.
Also the “frame” tanks that Preis exhibited were interesting as well as the
clean design of the AkvaStabil ones. Totally different was the range of
BiOrb aquariums: from the bowl to the curved parallelepiped, they look
definitely unusual, though they are real aquariums, very efficient and well
designed; the range now includes small macro cameras that allow to
observe the microscopic tank world.
ALT ALLE ALGHE. Le alghe diventano sempre più adesive? Giorno dopo giorno si attaccano alla parete frontale ed estirparle diventa un’impresa con le classiche
calamite? Per risolvere questo problema vari produttori
ricorrono a soluzioni interessanti.
Come Mag-Float, che produce un magnete equipaggiato con una generosa e tagliente lama in grado di
staccare dal vetro anche le alghe più resistenti. Ancora
più efficiente l’accessorio proposto da Eheim (foto 9):
somiglia a un rasoio elettrico e vibra, eliminando le
alghe più adesive senza produrre alcuno sforzo.
IN THE NAME OF STYLE. They distinguish themselves for style and
technology; they are the Dymax aquariums (picture 6), small and complete
tanks with an essential design that include an entire set of miniaturized
accessories and are organized according to a modular system. Also the
Parallels line that Penn-Plax presented was interesting.
Other products were designed for specific species, like bettas: several
brands (such as Tetra) devoted complete aquariums and accessories to
that species. Ciano exhibited a nice betta tank (picture 7) that mirrors the
same style standards set for larger aquariums, just like the amazing ones –
also available with curved glass – that Aquatlantis exhibited (picture 8).
Aquapor invented the tank with the embodied background: a screen
printing on the back drives us in New York or in an equatorial forest.
Style has not the same meaning for all: some aim at the natural aquarium,
others at striking effects. Brands like Dohse Aquaristik exhibited ranges of
complete, terrible tanks in non-toxic plastic whereas Zolux presented a
range of small and eccentric aquariums, the “zen” range and odd
decorations that meet the aesthetical demands of a part of the hobbyists.
Hydor proposed different solutions, confirming its passion for “live”
decorations: thin gas bubbles that change colour thanks to the light of tiny
LEDS and decorate different scenarios, from Mayas to Vesuvius.
A PROPOSITO DI ALIMENTI. Nel campo della mangimistica a Interzoo si sono viste varie cose interessanti: non si
tratta forse di scoperte eccezionali, ma di materiali che
potranno rendere più facile l’azione dell’hobbista e più
sana la vita dei pesci.
Ocean Nutrition vanta probabilmente la novità più interessante in questo settore, Separator, un separatore di
artemia basato sul magnetismo: basta versare la
sospensione di cisti e nauplii nello speciale contenitore
magnetico (foto 10), così le cisti restano attaccate al
fondo e i nauplii possono essere versati in acquario.
Tetra ha presentato una nuova versione di Tetra Pro
Menu (foto 11), che ora migliora la resistenza dei pesci
alle malattie stimolando il loro sistema immunitario. Si
può però anche preparare un buon mangime partendo da ingredienti semplici o da una scaglia generica.
Basta una spruzzatina degli integratori shake offerti da
Preis, con probiotici, spirulina, aloe o altro: semplice,
economico ed efficace.

STOP ALGAE. Are algae becoming too adhesive? Do they stick to the front
glass and eliminating them is a hard job with the classic magnets? Several
manufacturers proposed interesting solutions.
Like Mag-Float, that supplies a magnet equipped with a sharp blade that
eliminates even the most resistant algae. Even more efficient is the tool that
Eheim presented (picture 9): it looks like an electric razor and vibrates to
eliminate strong algae with a minimum effort.
LET’S TALK ABOUT FOOD. We found several interesting food concepts at
Interzoo: they may not be outstanding discoveries but rather materials that
could make the aquarium hobby easier and maintain the fish healthier.
Ocean Nutrition probably presented the most interesting novelty in this
field: Separator is a separator of artemias based on magnetism: you just
need to pour the suspension of cysts and nauplia in the special magnetic
container (picture 10) and the cysts stick to the bottom whereas nauplia
can be poured in the tank.
Tetra presented a new version of Tetra Pro Menu (picture 11) that now
improves the fish’s resistance to diseases by stimulating the immune
system. A good food can also be prepared starting with simple ingredients
or a generic scale.You only need to spray the Shake supplements that Preis

Spirulina, Chiclid, Betta) e New Era (ricchi e sani, derivanti da ricerche scientifiche approfondite).
Se poi volete automatizzare il processo, l’ideale è la mangiatoia automatica firmata Eden: un sistema brevettato permette di tenere l’apparecchio in un ambiente al 100% saturo di umidità conservando la fragranza del cibo (foto 14).
Anche la mangiatoia esposta da Ferplast d’altra parte, seppure non nuovissima, offre ampie garanzie di conservazione
del cibo secco.
MEDUSE: UN DISCORSO A PARTE. Una delle novità più stuzzicanti di questa manifestazione era rappresentata dagli acquari
per meduse (foto 15) presentati da innumerevoli aziende, da Aquarium Systems fino a piccoli produttori locali. Un trend
