La mia carriera da ciclista professionista è durata 12 anni, durante i quali sono salito 69 volte sul gradino più alto del podio. Ho dato il massimo e mi sono sempre allenato scrupolosamante per ogni gara, per dimostrare, prima di tutto a me stesso, che un “campione” vince non solo per la condizione atletica superiore a quella degli avversari, ma anche in particolare per il modo di interpretare il mezzo meccanico. Ecco perchè l’esperienza di quegli anni mi è servita per mettere a frutto le mie intuizioni in quella vecchia passione per le due
ruote che si è trasformata in un lavoro dedicato a tutti gli “innamorati” di questo magnifico sport. Quando correvo, curavo con scrupolo la mia posizione in sella alla bici. Per me non
era tempo perso quello impiegato alla ricerca di una geometria “perfetta”, l’unica che mi permettesse di ottenere il massimo in ogni condizione di gara. Da quando ho cominciato a
mettere il mio nome sui primi telai, ho capito che ogni singolo dettaglio della bici avrebbe dovuto rispecchiare la mia personalità e la mia professionalità. In questi anni ho registrato
numerosi brevetti perchè credo nella ricerca e nello sviluppo, ed ogni mia idea che si concretizza è una nuova sfida che mi attende. Queste bici che presento nella collezione 2008
sono “garantite” Fondriest, personalmente testate su strada e firmate dal sottoscritto: provare per credere.
My career as a professional cyclist lasted 12 years, during that period I stepped on the top of the podium 69 times.
I definitely gave my best and I always trained hard before each race in order to show, first of all to myself, that a “champion” wins not only for the better athletic conditions than the competitors but also, in particular, for the way of interpreting the mechanic means.
That’s why the experience of those years helped me to invest my intuitions in that old passion for two wheels, which changed into a job dedicated to all “lovers” of this great sport.
When I was riding my bicycle i was especially taking care of my position over the saddle.
It was not wasted time to me, the time spent searching for a “perfect” geometry, the only one which allowed me get the best out of any race conditions. Since when I started to put my name on the first frame, I understood that each single
detail of the bike should have reflected my personality and professionalism. During these years I personally registered different patents because I believe in the research and development, and each one of my ideas, which becomes concrete it is a new challenge waiting for me.
These frames that I am presenting in the collection 2007 are “guaranteed” by Fondriest , personally tested on the road by me and signed by myself.

The new Fondriest TF1 frame is made of 3K carbon fibers that means with 3000 fiber filaments
realized with an extremely compact weaving, which guarantees a very high fiber volume fraction.
This result gives the material an excellent workability during the drawing up of the skins and allow
the carbon fibers to maintain the most precise direction requested by designed drawing up. In
addition to the use of innovative materials, we have developed a process of the isostatic composite compression injecting a gas into the mould.
In this way the pressure reaches higher values than the usual autoclave way and reduces any
eventual empty spaces among the carbon skins. As for the material, we use 3K unidirectional carbon 2x2 twill, the weft interlaces twice the warp and vice-versa. The epoxy resins grant a super
“HS” high strength.

Il nuovo telaio TF1 Fondriest è realizzato in fibre di carbonio 3K, ovvero fibra a 3000 filamenti realizzato con
una tessitura estremamente compatta che garantisce una frazione volumetrica di fibre elevatissima.
Questo risultato conferisce al materiale una eccellente lavorabilità in fase di stesura delle pelli che permettono alle fibre di carbonio di mantenere la più precisa direzione richiesta dai piani di stratifica progettati.
Oltre all’utilizzo dei materiali più innovativi, abbiamo sviluppato un processo di compattazione isostatica del
composito attraverso l’utilizzo di un gas iniettato nello stampo. In questo modo le pressioni raggiungibili in
fase di cura raggiungono valori decisamente superiori rispetto ai classici metodi di produzione con autoclave, permettendo alle fibre di essere compattate e di ridurre totalmente gli eventuali vuoti o cavità intrappolate tra le pelli di carbonio. Per quanto riguarda i materiali il carbonio utilizzato è un 3K unidirezionale 2x2
twill, ovvero la trama intreccia 2 volte l’ordito e viceversa. Le resine epossidiche inoltre garantiscono una

by our style department. My goal was to create a frame
with the same quality of TF1 but with a more refined
aesthetic details research, starting from head tube,
passing through the innovative seat clamp, to get to the
Xrace rear stay.

Il TF2 è il nuovo telaio monoscocca carbonio nato dall’idea creativa dei designer del nostro centro stile. Il
mio obiettivo è stato quello di creare un telaio con le
stesse qualità del TF1 ma con una ricerca estetica più
raffinata nei dettagli, partendo dall’originale “musetto”,
passando per l’innovativo sistema di chiusura sella
sino ad arrivare al carro posteriore Xrace.
The frame TF2 is made with 3K fibers carbon too, fiber of 3000 filaments made with an
extremely compact weaving , which guarantees a high fiber volume fraction.
The result is an excellent workability in lying the skins. It allows carbon fibers to maintain more precise direction, as requested by designed drawing up. The process of the
isostatic compaction of the carbon fiber composite foresees the injection of a gas into
the mould.
In this way the pressure achieves higher values than the traditional autoclave methods,
allowing fibers to be compacted and reducing any empty spaces among the carbon
skins. The carbon used for TF2 3K is a unidirectional 2x2 twill in epoxy resins that provide high resistance.

Basta uno sguardo per capire che dalla matita del disegnatore non è uscito un telaio comune ma una bici
dal design pulito e deciso, capace di trasmettere carattere e puro stile italiano.
3 sono i punti nevralgici del TF2, ovvero il “musetto”, il sistema chiusura sella e l’esclusivo carro posteriore Xrace. Questi 3 punti sono il risultato di una ricerca estetica abbinata ad un esclusivo studio meccanico realizzato mediante i software di sviluppo Cad 3D. Il design TF2 inoltre si distingue per la sua linea
ricca di nervature alternate a zone piatte: le zone piatte servono per far lavorare in maniera ottimale le fibre
di carbonio mentre le zone rastremate hanno la funzione di stabilizzare le pelli dei carbonio. Il risultato è
un telaio veloce, preciso e confortevole.

A look is sufficient to understand that the TF2 is not an usual frame but a bicycle with a clear and sharp
design, that conveys the pure Italian style.
TF2 has 3 main points: the head tube, the seat post closing system and the exclusive Xrace rear stay.
These points are the result of an aesthetic research and a mechanical study realized by the 3D Cad software. Another particular characteristic of the TF2 is the line full of ribs and flat zones. The result is a fast,
precise and comfortable frame.

Carb Level rappresenta il nuovo telaio in alluminio Fondriest. Si distingue per l’utilizzo di
leghe di alluminio estremamente resistenti e bilanciate. L’alluminio impiegato è un 7005
heat treated a spessori differenziati. Il carro posteriore impiegato su questo telaio è un
monobox in fibra di carbonio 3K lavorato ad alto modulo che conferisce al telaio Carb Level
una estrema precisione, una elevata rigidità e una grande reattività.
Carb Level represents the new Fondriest aluminium frame. It is made of an extremely resistant 7005 aluminium with variable thicknesses. The rear stay is a monobox 3K carbon that gives Carb Level high rigidity, precision and great reactivity.

Mega Plus Fondriest deriva dalla sorella Carb Level. I materiali utilizzati per creare questo telaio full aluminium sono leghe di alluminio superleggere capaci di imprimere alla bici elevate doti
di maneggevolezza. L’alluminio impiegato è un 7005 heat treated a spessori variabili, infatti
Fondriest ha studiato un telaio a sezioni differenziate a triplo, doppio o mono spessore. Questo
permette di ottenere un telaio estremamente resistente.
Fondriest Mega Plus rises from the Carb Level. It is made of ultralight aluminium
that gives the bike a great manageability. We used 7005 heat treated aluminium
with variable thicknesses. Fondriest in fact studied a frame with triple, double
and mono thickness. So we obtain an extremely resistant frame.

Domino è un telaio monoscocca carbonio realizzato con fibre di carbonio 12K. Il procedimento costruttivo di questo monoscocca prevede una stratificazione delle pelli con resine epossidiche a spessori variabili. Questo significa che il telaio è stato rinforzato solamente nelle zone più sollecitate in maniera da renderlo estremamente rigido e allo stesso tempo notevolmente leggero. Domino is a monocoque 12K carbon frame. The production proceeding foresees the stratification of the
carbon skins with epoxy resins with variable thicknesses. That means that the frame has been reinforced
just in the most solicited zones to be rigid and light at the same time . Thanks to those characteristics the
frame offers comfort and a great capacity of absorbing the vibrations.
