2013 L.O.T.E Italian Term 2 Overview Italian LEVEL 2 Year 1/2 Italian LEVEL 3 Year 3/4 Italian LEVEL 4 Year 5/6 The Grade 1 and 2 students will revise Greetings and songs learnt in Term 1. They will also write 1 -2 short sentences about their holidays. Durante Le Vacanze-Io sono andata(girl) Io sono andato(boy) al mare/al cinema etc. Then for most of the term we will be focusing on the Topic- Space (Spazio) Things in Space (Le cose in Spazio) The Sun(Il Sole) The Moon (La Luna) First man on the moon (Il primo uomo sulla Luna)Neil Armstrong-1969 The Planets (I Pianeti) Did you know that the Italian Days of the Week were named after the Planets and the Moon? Lunedi-Luna Martedi-Marte Mercoledi-Mercurio Giovedi-Giove Venerdi-Venere Sabato-Saturno Domenica(not named after a Planet) La giornata della mamma-Mother’s day Students will complete their Self Reflection for Semester One. The Grade 3 and 4 students will revise Greetings, Days of The Week and the months through games. Students will write 1 - 2 sentences about their holidays. Il Tempo-The Weather: Discuss the different types of weather: Vento-windy,,Nevica-snowy, caldo-hot,Nebbioso-foggy etc. We will discuss the months and which Seasons happen during certain months. Le Stagione-The Seasons, I Mesi-The months. Students will discuss and explore L’arcobaleno-Rainbow Students will complete their Self Reflection for Semester One. The Grade 5 and 6 students will revise Greetings, Days of The Week, Months through games. They will also write several sentences about their holidays, including place, family members, and friends. Students will discuss and list the different food types. Students will use dictionaries to write the Italian word. Students will categorise the words in groups. Frutta-fruit, Verdura-Salads, Bevande-drinks. They will also learn how to change singular words to plural. La mela-le mele Il panino-i Panini (use articles for plurals-i, le, gli). I pasti in Italia-Meals.
