22 Alpine Ski Helmet FIS Rule valid from season 2013/14
GS/SG/DH Requirements :
Helm model to fulfill and to be certified under both ASTM 2040 and EN 1077
(class A)
In addition Helm model to pass an additional specific test under EN 1077 test
procedure but at higher test speed of 6.8m/s
Additional test to be effected through CEN laboratories. The laboratory shall issue
a test protocol showing that the tested model passed the EN test requirements at the
increased speed.
Label attesting conformity with FIS specifications for racing helmets (GS/SG/DH):
Fulfilment of requirements is to be attested by a specifc standardised conformity label
affixed in a non removable way at the back of the helmet.
The conformity label (...) shall include the following text : « Conform to FIS specifications
RH 2013 ».(...)
The comformity label attests that the manufacturer has obtained the required
certifications (EN 1077 A and ASTM 2040) and obtained a test protocol confirming
that the concerned helmet model fulfils the requirements (...)

Helmets models fulfilling the specific standard GS/SG/DH can already be used in
all events.

Briko introduce to alpine skiing athletes the new Phoenix 6.8 complies with
the new FIS regulation in force as of 2013 season (please, see extract of the
regulation on the left).
The phoenix 6.8 convey the highest evolution of the phoenix generation
choosing a new EPS system and confirming the excellence of the existing shell.
The new G-Force EPS by Briko absorbs impacts without compromising safety
levels required by EN 1077 regulation up to the speed of 6,8 m/s compared
to 5,2 m/s (in force speed).
The phoenix 6.8 has 3 sizes: 54 – 56 – 58. The last size, 58, keeps unchanged
the existing volume of the phoenix helmet.
Briko presenta agli atleti dello sci alpino il nuovo casco Phoenix 6.8 conforme
alla nuova normativa FIS in vigore dalla stagione 2013 (vedesi estratto del
regolamento a fronte pagina).
Il Phoenix 6.8 esprime la massima evoluzione della generazione phoenix
adottando un nuovo sistema di EPS e confermando l’eccellenza della calotta
attuale.

World Cup,
COC races, Olympic games and Junior World Championships.
Il nuovo EPS G-Force di Briko permette di assorbire impatti mantenendo il
medesimo livello di sicurezza richiesti dalla normativa EN 1077 fino alla
velocità di 6,8 m/s rispetto ai 5,2 m/s vigenti.
In other FIS level races, the helmets fulfilling the requirements valid in 2012/13
may still be used during season 2013/14.
Il casco 6.8 è proposto in 3 misure: 54 – 56 – 58. L’ultima taglia, la 58,
mantiene invariati i volumi dell’attuale Phoenix.
