Marignana Arte presenta una collettiva che sintetizza il lavoro fin qui svolto ed introduce progetti futuri.
Partecipano alla mostra gli artisti ospitati nella stagione espositiva precedente (Akira Arita, Stefano Arienti,
Aldo Grazzi, Alessandro Diaz de Santillana, Sofia Stevi) e altri con i quali è prevista una collaborazione
(Laura Bisotti, Lorenzo Missoni, Maurizio Pellegrin).
Il percorso, che si svolge attraverso opere mai presentate in galleria (in alcuni casi inedite), consente di
approfondire le proposte di Marignana Arte contrapponendo lavori orientati verso una forte presenza
grafica (il lavoro su carta di Arienti, l’Erbario di Missoni, le Gouaches di Arita) ad altri caratterizzati da una
presenza plastica e quasi scultorea (Stevi, Diaz de Santillana). Un terzo gruppo di opere in bilico tra le
discipline (i rilievi dell’Enciclopedia di Missoni, l’Ovale di Grazzi e le opere della giovane artista Bisotti)
consente di tracciare un percorso fatto di scelte rigorose, proponendo al pubblico nomi già affermati
accanto ad artisti emergenti.

Marignana Arte presents a collective exhibit which summarize its work until now and introduces future
projects.
The participating artists are on one hand those who already worked for and with the gallery in the past
season (Akira Arita, Stefano Arienti, Aldo Grazzi, Alessandro Diaz de Santillana, Sofia Stevi) and on the
other those with whom it is settled a future collaboration (Laura Bisotti, Lorenzo Missoni, Maurizio Pellegrin).
The exhibition itinerary spreads through artworks never presented in the gallery (some never exhibited) and
allows to deepen the offers of Marignana Arte which counterposes graphic works (Arienti’s works on paper;
Missoni’s Erbario or Arita’s Gouaches) to works close to sculpture (Stevi and Diaz de Santillana). A third
group of artworks is in between these two disciplines (Missoni’s Enciclopedia, Grazzi’s Ovale and Bisotti’s)
permits us to follow an itinerary of rigorous choices, introducing tot he public both well-known names and
new ones.

ALDO GRAZZI
Pomponesco (Mantova), 1954
Vive e lavora tra Perugia e Venezia, dove insegna pittura e tecniche multimediali all’Accademia delle Belle Arti.
È un artista poliedrico, essendo anche un musicista.
Comincia la sua carriera di artista negli anni Settanta e proseguendo negli Ottanta anche come curatore.
He lives and works both in Perugia and Venice, where he is professor of painting and extra media
techniques at Accademia delle Belle Arti.
He is a versatile artist: he began his artistic career during the 70ies, expressing himself with various and
different medium. The next decade, he curated several exhibitions and moreover he is a musician.
LAURA BISOTTI
Piacenza, 1985
È una giovane e promettente artista italiana che da poco prima della sua specializzazione in Arti Visive
all’Accademia delle Belle Arti di Bologna (2010) ha vinto ben quattro premi.
Dal 2009 ad oggi è stata attiva sulla scena artistica italiana ed europea con mostre personali e collettive.
She is a young but promising artist; she is winner of four prices (in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012).
She graduated in Visual Arts at Accademia delle Belli Arti of Bologna in 2010. A year before that she
already took part in three collective exhibitions in Varese, Liège (Belgio) and Bologna.
Since then, she yearly presented her artworks in both solo and collective exhibits both in Italy and in Europe.
MAURIZIO PELLEGRIN
Venezia, 1956
Lavora tra New York e Venezia. La sua è una formazione di filosofo prima che di artista (studia a Ca‘ Foscari e
poi all’Accademia delle Belle Arti di Venezia pittura e scultura).
Negli Stati Uniti insegna pittura e critica d’arte in un Master of Fine Arts. Insegna inoltre Scultura e Fenomenologia
al Teacher College of Columbia. È anche direttore artistico alla National Academy sempre a New York.
All’attivo ha più di 130 mostre personali e circa 300 collettive.
He has now been living in New York for more than twenty years. There, he teaches Drawing and Criticism
in MA of Fine Arts; plus he is professors of Sculpture and Phenomenology of the Arts in the Teacher College
of Columbia. He is also creative director at National Academy in New York still. He has over 130 solo
exhibitions and almost of 300 collectives around the world.
AKIRA ARITA
Osaka, 1947
Nel 1966 si trasferisce negli Stati Uniti per frequentare la Rhode Island School of Design dove ottiene la laurea
nel 1970. Dopo di chè, si trasferisce a New York dove espone per la prima volta alla Staempfli Gallery.
Da allora, ha avuto modo di esporre tanto negli Stati Uniti quanto nel natio Giappone. Le sue opere sono inoltre
presenti in ben 20 collezioni private e corporative (Museum of Fine Arts Boston; The Brooklyn Museum;
Kahitsukan Kyoto Museum of Contemporary Art Kyoto).
Attualmente vive tra il Veneto e New York.
He moved to United States in 1966 where he attended Rhode Island School of Design, where he graduated

He then moved to New York, where in 1982 he had his first solo exhibition at Staempfli Gallery.
Since then, he held exhibits in many american and japanese galleries and museum. Plus his artworks are

SOFIA STEVI
Atene, 1982
Vive e lavora tra Londra e Atene, dove ha creato il progetto culturale Fokidos.
Si laurea ad Atene nel 2003 per poi trasferirsi a Londra per studiare al Master in Communication Design offerto
dal Central St. Martins College.
Tra il 2009 e il 2015 è stata presente in 16 mostre, due delle quali organizzate da Marignana Arte che è la sola
galleria italiana a rappresentarla.
She lives and works between London and Athens where she has created the cultural project Fokidos.
After graduation in Athens in 2003, she went to London to study Communication Design Master at Central
St. Martins College.
Between 2009 and 2015, she had 16 exhibitions, two of which in Marignana gallery that ist he only italian
gallery to represent this young artist.
LORENZO MISSONI
Udine, 1965
E' attivo sulla scena artistica contemporanea italiana ed europea dagli anni Novanta.
Ha esposto in diverse collettive e personali in Italia in città come Milano, la natia Udine, Bologna, Firenze e
all'estero a Berlino, Francoforte e Stoccolma.
He is part of the contemporary italian art scene since the 90ies.
Among the exhibitions in Italy, he presented his artworks in Milan, Udine, Bologna and Florence. Moreover,
he had the chance to exhibit his art also aborad in Berlin, Frankfurt and Stockholm.
ALESSANDRO DIAZ DE SANTILLANA
Parigi, 1959
Cresciuto in Italia, condivide la passione per l’arte con la sorella Laura, anche lei artista.
Nipote di Venini, fin da bambino è stato vicino al mondo degli artisti e dei designer. A 13 anni si avvicina alla
fotografia. Tra il 1979 e il 1980 si occupa della direzione della mostra su Venini dello Smithsonian Institution
Travelling Exhibitions System. Poco dopo, si occupa della riorganizzazione dello stesso archivio fotografico dei
Venini che era stato bruciato durante l’incendio dell’industria. Tra gli anni Ottanta e Novanta, lavora tra Italia,
Europa ed America. Continua a lavorare a livello internazionale.
Il primo lavoro con gli specchi risale al 1999.
Grown up in Italy, he shares his passion for art with his sister Laura, an artist as well.
Nephew of Venini, since childhood he has been closed to designers and artists. At the age of 13, he
experimented with photography.
Between 1979 and 1980 he took care of the direction of Venini Exhibitions of Smithsonian Institution
Travelling Exhibitions System. Soon after this, he took care of the reorganization oft he photographic
archive of Venini burned during the fire of the factory.
Between the 80ies and the 90ies he worked in Italy, Europe and USA. He still does.
His first work with the mirrors dates back to 1999.
STEFANO ARIENTI
Asola (Mantova), 1961
Si iscrive all‘università di Milano con indirizzo in Agraria, per via della sua passione e curiosità verso il mondo
naturale, che lo accompagneranno anche nella sua ricerca artistica.
È in questa città che ha anche l’opportunità di avvicinarsi al mondo artistico frequentando un gruppo di artisti
ed architetti che si incontravano in una fabbrica abbandonata nell’hinterland milanese. Lì è dove conduce i suoi
primi passi come artista.
Dal 1985, è un artista affermato in Italia quanto in Europa con oltre 70 mostre personali e 100 collettive.
Due to his passion for nature and what it is behind it, he attended Agricolture at Milan’s university.
In this city, he could also have his first encounter with the art world, when he met a group of architects and
artists in an abandoned factory, close to this metropolis. There, he conducted his first artistic experiments.
Since 1985, he has been very well-known in italian and european art scene with more than 80 solo
exhibitions and 100 collectives.
