Two retail units delivered to Coin group after 18 months of work on Jean Nouvel’s
project

Beni Stabili SIIQ, the leading Italian property company with total real estate assets of over €4.3bn, has
completed redevelopment of the former Excelsior – Mignon cinema complex after 18 months of work. As a
result, two retail units, together making up a new global shopping destination, have been delivered to the
Coin group on time and on budget.
The new building, at the heart of Milan’s government district and the city’s cultural attractions, has been
created from two former cinemas and offers two innovatively designed retail areas, whilst preserving the
original features of the previous structure.
The two newly built units introduce a new concept of high street retail, enriching the retail offering of the
pedestrianised shopping area between Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Piazza Beccaria and putting it on a par
with the world’s best-known shopping streets.
The renovation work carried out by Beni Stabili SIIQ involved:

approximately 10,000 hours of design work
around 185,000 hours of construction work on site
8,000 cubic metres of demolitions and material disposed of
1,650 cubic metres of new concrete castings
and the average daily presence of 60 workers on site.
The project was carried out by Beni Stabili Development, an operating unit of the Beni Stabili Group set up in
2007 with the aim of redeveloping the Group’s properties and creating new-generation buildings.
Beni Stabili SIIQ has invested approximately €20m in the project.

Founded in 1904, Beni Stabili SIIQ is a property company listed on the Milan Stock Exchange (BNS.MI)
since 1999. We invest in office properties located in major cities in northern and central Italy. Since July 2007
Beni Stabili SIIQ has been part of the French group, Foncière des Régions, one of Europe’s leading property
companies. From January 2011 Beni Stabili SIIQ has adopted the SIIQ regime ( the Italian version of the
REIT).
The Company reported a profit of €79m for 2010, whilst the value of the total property assets managed by
Beni Stabili SIIQ was €4.3bn at 31 December 2010.
Through Beni Stabili Gestioni SGR, the Company manages a total of 11 real estate funds with total assets
under management of approximately €1.67bn at the end of 2010.
