1964-2015:
A GLORIOUS HISTORY UNA STORIA GLORIOSA
Momo’s history stems back to the 1960s. These were years of amazing racing,
just 11 years after the birth of Formula 1, with cars that must be driven with
the heart and not just the head. Car electronics were only science fiction at this
time and steering wheels were just a generic piece of the interior. However, in
1964 gentleman driver Gianpiero Moretti developed a smaller leather steering
wheel with a much larger grip: the first Momo steering wheel. Formula 1 driver
John Surtees saw this steering wheel and asked for one just like it for his car.
He went on to win the championship that year with a Momo steering wheel
in hand. And that was just the beginning.
La storia di Momo ebbe inizio nei lontani anni ’60. Anni di gare mozzafiato,
con una Formula 1 nata soltanto undici anni prima e vetture che dovevano
essere guidate col cuore, oltre che con la mente. L’elettronica applicata
all’auto era solo fantascienza e i volanti erano mere appendici delle ruote.
Tutti, tranne uno. Quello di Gianpiero Moretti, gentleman driver che, nel
1964, portò al debutto un volante in pelle più piccolo e dall’impugnatura
più ampia rispetto qualsiasi altro: era il primo volante Momo della storia.
John Surtees, pilota di punta della F1, ne chiese uno identico per la sua
monoposto e, con il volante Momo tra le mani, alla fine della stagione si
laureò campione del mondo. E quello fu solo l’inizio.

On the race track, Momo finds a unique technological and qualitative testing ground to check the total security
of its products. The Momo Racing Department was created to provide the most advanced technology and safety
to drivers and teams with tailor-made fireproof products. Product development stems from the direct experience
of the Momo teams in the top American/European race series and the hundreds of victories won with Momo
products worldwide. Every product is specifically designed by the Momo “Style Center”, in compliance with the
international homologation rules. 2014 has marked an important milestone: 50 years of innovation, design and
the pursuit of the highest quality products.

Il Momo Racing Department è il risultato di centinaia di vittorie ottenute sui più prestigiosi circuiti di tutto il mondo,
nonché della diretta esperienza dei Team Momo nei più importanti campionati americani ed europei. Fu creato per
offrire le tecnologie più avanzate e la massima sicurezza a piloti e team, grazie a prodotti realizzati su misura e

Over 50 years of Momo racing history continues with the MOMO NGT Motorsport
team in the United States and Momo Megatron in Europe. The MOMO NGT
Motorsport program saw a very successful 2013 season marked by several victories
and podiums. In 2014 the team carried the momentum taking part in the IMSA
TUDOR United SportsCar Championship series with the familiar No. 30 on a new
Porsche 991 GT America. In addition to the aformentioned, the MOMO Megatron
is the official European team which debuted in the Porsche Supercup series with two
MOMO Porsche 991 GT3 Cup cars. The Porsche Supercup Series is the prestigious
support series to the FIA Formula One World Championship.
Il percorso di Momo nel motorsport, ricco di successi ottenuti nei suoi 50 anni di
storia, continua con i team ufficiali Momo NGT Motorsport negli Stati Uniti e Momo
Megatron in Europa. Il team Momo NGT Motorsport arriva da una stagione 2013
molto positiva, segnata da numerosi vittorie e podi, e ha partecipato alla nuova
serie IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship con il familiare numero 30 sulla
nuova Porsche 991 GT America. Inoltre, in Europa Momo Megatron è il team Momo
ufficiale di punta, schierato nel campionato Porsche Supercup Series con due 991
GT3 Cup. La Porsche Supercup Series si compone di nove gare in Europa, tutte

In the extremely competitive light alloy wheel marketplace, Momo has achieved a leadership position
with more than 40 years of experience. The debut of Momo light alloy wheels dates back to 1972,
with the decision to invest in this product aggressively and to be the sole partner of many Formula 1
teams, i.e. 1983 Brabham F1 Championship Team. Motorsports has always been used as a development
lab for Momo, the company has been able to win the trust of International customers, showing a
tremendous capacity for understanding and interpreting a market in a state of constant and fast-paced
evolution. With a constant flow of new and creative designs, the advanced design center of Momo is
one of the company’s pillars: the designers operate in close contact with the engineers, thus ensuring
the best design, together with the highest quality and production efficiency. In addition to design, the
Momo Production Department maintains close relationships with important certification institutes, thus
obtaining TÜV, JWL and SAE homologations. As a further guarantee of quality, all of Momo’s road
wheel production is certified ISO 9001. Such strict quality monitoring allows Momo to reach the highest
efficiency in every production stage on the one hand, while providing the best after-sales support on the
other. Product innovation has always been among the top priorities of Momo: the wheel compatibility
with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and the wide possibility of Runflat tires fitment are just two
examples. The experience gained in 4 decades of production and innovation has enabled us to produce
one of the largest technical application ranges in the alloy wheel market.
In un mercato estremamente competitivo come quello delle ruote in lega leggera, Momo ha raggiunto
da oltre quarant’anni una posizione di leadership nei mercati internazionali. Il debutto delle ruote in lega
leggera Momo avvenne nel lontano 1972 e l’Azienda investì sul prodotto al punto da divenire partner
di molte scuderie di Formula 1: celebre, in questo senso, è la vittoria del team Brabham nel mondiale F1
nel 1983, con ruote in lega prodotte da Momo. Le competizioni sono, da sempre, un vero e proprio
laboratorio di sviluppo per Momo, e l’Azienda, nel tempo, ha saputo guadagnare il favore di molti clienti
in tutto il mondo, grazie a una costante innovazione nel design e a un’incredibile capacità di interpretare
le evoluzioni del mercato. Oggi, l’avanzato “Centro Stile” di Momo è uno dei cardini dell’ Azienda:
i designer operano in stretto contatto con gli ingegneri, con il costante obiettivo di ottenere la massima
pulizia stilistica, insieme a qualità ed efficienza produttiva. Inoltre, il Momo Product Department collabora
costantemente con i più importanti istituti di certificazione, ottenendo le prestigiose omologazioni TÜV,
JWL e SAE sui propri modelli. Ad ulteriore garanzia, tutta la produzione di ruote in lega Momo è
certificata ISO 9001. Un monitoraggio della qualità così severo consente da una parte di ottenere
la massima efficienza in tutte le fasi produttive, dall’altra di garantire al cliente la migliore assistenza
post-vendita. L’innovazione di prodotto è da sempre tra le priorità di Momo: ne sono un esempio la
compatibilità con il Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) - il nuovo dispositivo di monitoraggio della
pressione degli pneumatici attualmente in fase di introduzione sul mercato - e la diffusa possibilità di
montaggio di pneumatici Runflat. L’esperienza accumulata in 4 decenni di produzione e innovazione

MOMO collection features a one-piece forged construction. The
goal is to provide a lightweight high performance forged aluminum
wheel custom engineered to order. We offer a high performance
OE upgrade, improving ride quality with an aggressive look. The
wheel diameter range covers 19” to 22” and widths ranging from 8”.
5’ to 12”. 5’. Each MOMO Forged Wheel is first engineered as a
blank forging; this is an important process which is based on the
application range and load rating specific for the intended use.
We keep blanks in stock; each is individually engineered, lathed,
milled and finished per your request.

Thanks to the latest production technologies, it’s possible to
apply sponsor logos and graphics not only with the classic
embroidery, but also using an advanced printing method.
