Introduzione
Italian is a Romance language. Other Romance or Neolatin languages
are French, Spanish, Rumanian and Portuguese. Italian derives from
Latin which was by the ancient Romans.
<L'italiano> is spoken in Italy by 57 million native Italians and by
thousands of people that have recently immigrated to Italy. Italian is
also spoken in parts of Switzerland and by Italians living in many parts
of the world such as Australia, Argentina, United States, Europe, and
Canada. Italian is a phonetic language, which means that it is
pronounced the way it is written.
In this class, <L' Italiano per Tutti>, you'll learn to communicate in
Italian as you learn about some aspects of Italian life.
I hope you'll enjoy attending this class as much as I enjoy sharing with
you my language and some curiosities about Italy.

L'alfabeto italiano
The Italian alphabet consists of 21 letters and five more letters
that appear only in foreign words.
Italian vowels are represented by the five letters a , e , i, o, u.

D. The Numbers (0-100) - I numeri
1. In Italian, as in English, there are cardinal numbers and
ordinal numbers. Cardinal numbers (uno, due, tre, etc.) may
either stand alone or precede a noun. Cardinal numbers (except
uno) are used for counting and also to express the date.
