What is it Ranger XII Custom Fishman Presys Blend (Psy301) Conero Eq. CONERO-RANGER CUSTOM Series EKO FastLOK System 50 years ago, EKO decided to apply the Bolt-on technology within its acoustic guitars; that is, body and neck held together by 4 fixing screws, an approach which later influenced several major guitar manufacturers worldwide. Today EKO presents a new revolutionary FastLOK System (Patent Pending) specifically for guitar set-up adjustment, which will surely influence the music market within the next 50 years. Features The FastLok System enables string height adjustment with respect to the fingerboard (Action) in a simple, effective, and quick manner without removing the strings, and without the need of a luthier. The FastLOK System may change the inclination of the angle (a) (b) Structure The main support of the entire system (Drawing A) is the main pivot which includes both the locking system (locking pivot) as well as the screw adjusting system (set up screw). At the same time, the set-up screw acts on the neck inclination with respect to the body. between neck and body and thus cause a variation on the distance between the strings and fingerboard. This optimizes the relationship between movement of the strings and fingerboard, and enables to reach the action desired by the guitar player. Furthermore, another unique aspect of the FastLOK System is that the guitar’s neck can easily and quickly be changed. How it works First, unlock the device which assembles neck and body through clockwise rotations (a) of the locking screw. The second step allows neck inclination adjustments through the set up screw. A clockwise rotation (b) will allow the neck to move nearer to the strings; on the other hand, an anticlockwise rotation (c) will make the distance from neck to strings greater. When this is done, the locking screw must be rotated clockwise (d), locking the neck again, and the procedure has come to the end. (c) On the back of the guitar, a scale divided into 8 parts (each part represents 45°) will allow an accurate graduated adjustment. The actual movements throughout this process must be carried out at all times with great care, and with small gradual adjustments. Other adjustments Most EKO FastLOK models offer other possibilities: • String height variation with respect to the bridge through small saddle adjustments. • Truss rod acts throughout the entire fingerboard and not just until the 14th fret as in glued on neck guitars. La EKO oggi propone un nuovo rivoluzionario sistema per la regolazione dell’assetto della chitarra, che siamo sicuri influenzerà il mercato per i prossimi 50 anni: il FastLOK System (Patent Pending). A cosa serve Con il FastLOK è possibile regolare l’altezza delle corde rispetto alla tastiera (Action) in modo semplice, efficace e veloce, senza rimuovere le corde e senza alcun intervento di liuteria specializzata. L’azione di FastLOK System provoca una variazione dell’incli- (a) (b) Com’è fatto La parte portante di tutto il sistema (Disegno A) è il main pivot, nel quale troviamo sia il sistema di bloccaggio locking pivot, sia il sistema di regolazione a vite set-up screw. Il locking pivot ha la funzione principale di assemblare i componenti cassa-manico. Il Disegno A mostra il corpo e il manico in posizione separata; il Disegno B in posizione assemblata. Sul retro della chitarra, una scala graduata divisa in otto parti nazione (angolo di incidenza del manico rispetto alla cassa) e quindi una variazione della distanza delle corde dalla tastiera. Questo ottimizza il rapporto tra il movimento della corda e la tastiera, e permette di determinare l’action più adatta alle esigenze del chitarrista. Inoltre, un’altra particolarità del sistema FastLOK è quella di poter sostituire il manico della chitarra in modo facile e veloce. Come si usa La prima azione consiste nello sbloccare con movimento anti-orario (a) il meccanismo che unisce il manico al corpo tramite una vite di bloccaggio (locking screw). La seconda operazione permette la regolazione dell’inclinazione del manico, tramite la vite di registro (set-up screw). Con una rotazione oraria (b), il manico si avvicinerà alle corde, mentre con una rotazione anti-oraria (c), se ne allontanerà. Fatto questo, basterà ruotare in senso orario (d) la vite di bloccaggio (locking screw) per porre termine all’operazione. (c) (ogni parte corrisponde a 45°) ci permette di avere un riferimento nella regolazione. Il movimento di regolazione deve essere fatto con la massima attenzione, con movimenti di rotazione inferiori a 45°. Altre regolazioni La gran parte dei modelli EKO FastLOK offrono ulteriori possibilità: • La variazione dell’altezza delle corde al ponte attraverso la “microregolazione” dell’adjustable saddle; • L’asta del truss-rod EKO, a differenza di quello presente nelle chitarre a manico incollato, agisce su tutta l’estensione della tastiera e non soltanto fino al 14° tasto.
