IL PATERAZZO
Da gennaio 2011 MUSTO, il produttore del miglior abbigliamento tecnico da vela al mondo,
avrà una gestione diretta del mercato italiano: si fonda così la MUSTO ITALIA.
Il brand MUSTO nasce in UK nel 1964, anno in cui Keith Musto, il suo fondatore, ha vinto
la medaglia d’argento ai Giochi Olimpici di Tokyo al timone di Lady Clare.
Keith ingegnere e velista ha applicato la sua esperienza diretta sul campo di regata alla tecnologia
creando una linea di abbigliamento tecnico assolutamente innovativa per quei tempi
dando vita a un nuovo modo di andare in barca.
I materiali utilizzati uniti al design moderno hanno riscosso subito successo. Anche in Italia
il marchio, importato per la prima volta nel 1986 da Franco Pivoli, ha conquistato il favore
dei velisti e negli anni si è posizionato come leader indiscusso del mercato tecnico, scelto
dai migliori navigatori del mondo da Grant Dalton a Mike Golding e Ellen MacArthur.
Il cambiamento strutturale dal 2011 porterà una gestione diretta dei clienti, questo per favorire
una maggiore penetrazione del mercato italiano. La rete vendita rimarrà invariata, risultato
della fiducia attribuita all’attuale distribuzione, ma si annunciano iniziative volte a un
aumento dei volumi di vendita: la nuova collezione casual, presentata al prossimo Pitti Uomo
(Firenze, 11-14 gennaio 2011) sarà rivolta a un pubblico più
ampio rispetto alla nicchia amante dello yachting.
Nigel Musto, CEO di Musto, nel dare l’annuncio all’interno dell’azienda ha dichiarato:
“l’Italia è un mercato importante a cui dobbiamo dedicare molta attenzione, per questo abbiamo
deciso, in accordo con l’attuale distributore Franco Pivoli di attuare una politica di
gestione diretta che ha dato la nascita a Musto Italia”. Conclude inoltre: ”Dopo la Francia e
la Spagna, si aggiunge un altro passaggio verso la creazione di un’azienda multinazionale”.
Franco Pivoli che dirigerà la nuova struttura, la gestione delle relazioni esterne e l’attività
di ufficio stampa è stata assegnata all’agenzia Conca Delachi, il progetto è seguito da Alice
Pivoli con la supervisione di Federica Delachi.
MUSTO: L’azienda è stata fondata nel 1964 in Inghilterra da Keith Musto, ingegnere e medaglia
d’argento alle Olimpiadi di Tokyo al timone di Lady Clare, che ha deciso di unire la
sua esperienza velica alle conoscenze tecniche per creare una linea di vestiti in grado di
resistere alle condizioni atmosferiche più estreme. Nulla di così innovativo era mai stato
proposto sul mercato e garantiva al velista un comfort mai provato: anche al freddo ci si
manteneva comodi, asciutti e caldi.
Oggi Musto è il marchio di abbigliamento tecnico da vela ed equitazione più importante al
mondo.
Nel 1964 Keith Musto vince l’argento alle Olimpiadi di Tokyo Nel 1979 nasce il sistema a
3 strati che rivoluziona l’approccio all’abbigliamento tecnico.
Nel 1983 nasce la prima cerata stagna a due pezzi.
Nel 1992 la prima cerata stagna intera che permette la sopravvivenza anche in condizione
estreme.
