Welcome to Verona! Here’s some useful transport information for people visiting Verona for
the first time:
Connection from airport or train station to Bus Station
For people arriving by plane (Valerio Catullo Airport):
Upon your arrival to the Valerio Catullo Airport of Verona and baggage retrieval, you will
need to get to the city center. There are shuttle buses (Aerobus) departing every 20 minutes
from the airport (besides ARRIVALS) to the central train station (Porta Nuova) the transfer
will take 15 minutes.
Once you’re outside ARRIVALS gate:
Walk either to your right for the shuttle bus or to your left in order to catch a taxi. The ticket
for the shuttle costs 6€ and once validated, can be used for 75 minutes in all city lines. You
can buy it directly from the vending machine located outside (it accepts both coins and
paper money). Taxis are quite expensive (around 30€ for the same trip). Once you’re outside
the central train station, you can walk to the main bus station located directly opposite.

For people arriving by train (Verona Porta Nuova Train Station):
Once arriving at Porta Nuova pass carefully the road heading to the main bus station (exit
the train station and walk to your front right).
Connection from bus station (Stazione FS Porta Nuova) to Hotel San Marco (Via
Baldassarre Longhena, 42)
Weekdays and Saturday: Catch bus number 11: Direzione Chievo from Platform C to reach
Hotel San Marco (6 stops). You get off at Via Longhena 40 and follow the grey dotted line
to reach Hotel San Marco (map 1a).
Sunday: Catch bus number 90 from Platform C to Hotel San Marco (7 stops). You get off at
Via S.Marco 84 I and follow the blue dotted line to reach Hotel San Marco (map 1b)
You can buy your ticket inside the bus (there’s a small yellow ticket machine – ticket cost:
1,5€). If you’re coming from the airport you won’t need an additional ticket as you can use
the one you already bought for the Aerobus.

Walking to the hotel is also possible. Distance is 1.5 Km and will
take about 19 minutes. For this option follow the dotted line in
map 2:

XXV Aprile (300 m)
 Turn right at Piazzale XXV Aprile (54 m)
 Slight left onto SS12 (24 m)
 Turn left to stay on SS12 (11 m)
 Sharp right toward Via Giulio Camuzzoni (10 m)
 Turn left onto Via Giulio Camuzzoni (800 m)
 Turn left onto Via Leonardo Da Vinci (110 m)
 Turn right onto Via Baldassarre Longhena – Hotel San Marco
will be on the right (Via Baldassarre Longhena, 42)
Connection from Hotel San Marco to University of Verona (Department of
Biotechnology) and back
Catch bus number 11: Direzione San Michele from Via Vitruvio 2A to Stazione FS Porta
Nuova (6 stops). Head to Platorm B and catch bus number 22: Direzione Policlinico to P.le
Scuro Fr. Policlinico (12 stops, map 3a).
Walk to University of Verona (map 3b):




Head east on Via delle Menegone toward Via Bartolomeo Giuliari (260 m)
Continue onto Via Regina Adelaide (90 m)
Turn right onto Strada le Grazie
Biotechnology Department is located on your left (Ca’Vignal 1)
To return to Hotel San Marco you take the same buses (you walk to Policlinico and catch bus
22: Direzione Parona leading to Porta Nuova Station and then bus 11: Direzione Chievo
(Platform C).

Connection from Hotel San Marco to Restaurant (Trattoria I Masenini, Via Roma
34) and back
‘Trattoria I Masenini’ is located in Via Roma 34, close to. It’s a 20min walk from Hotel San
Marco. Here are the directions for walking:









Head northwest on Via Baldassarre Longhena toward Via Marco Vitruvio (15 m)
Turn right to stay on Via Baldassarre Longhena (29 m)
Turn right onto Via San Marco (190 m)
Turn right onto Viale Colonnello Galliano (450 m)
Slight left to stay on Viale Colonnello Galliano (330 m)
Turn right onto Circonvallazione Maroncelli (28 m)
Turn left onto Stradone Porta Palio (550 m)
Continue onto Corso Castelvecchio (230 m)
Turn right onto Via Roma – The restaurant will be on the left (Via Roma 34)
By bus (and a little walking):








Head northwest on Via Baldassarre Longhena toward Via Marco Vitruvio (15 m)
Turn right to stay on Via Baldassarre Longhena (29 m)
Turn right onto Via San Marco (190 m)

Turn right onto Via Vittime Civili di Guerra (bus stop on your right)
Take bus number 33: Direzione B.go Santa Croce (6 stops – you get off at Corso Cavour 49)
Head southwest on Corso Cavour toward Via Roma (35 m)
Turn left onto Via Roma – The restaurant will be on the left (Via Roma 34)
To get back to the hotel, you can either walk or take bus 32: Direzione San Massimo Lugagnano from
Piazza Pasque Veronesi near the restaurant (5 stops – you get off at Via Vittime Civili di Guerra)
